Yeyen and Farbod were very warm and welcoming hosts. Directions were clear with plenty of follow up communication. Easy access. Sites for tents, pop-up campers, RV's, cabins, huge fully stocked communal kitchen, plenty of bathrooms/restrooms - something for everyone and all imaginatively laid out & decorated and spotlessly maintained. The gardens are both secret and really beautiful. Plenty of places to meander. Close to beaches. I had planned to stay only one night - and after an hour or so of being in that tranquil environment, I extended my stay by two additional nights!

Overall it’s an amazing spot for a large group or gathering. The rv spots, although well equipped, are right on top of each other. We prefer more solitude but it was fine for one night.

The location is nice. However the intimacy and creativity they have put into the haven is so charming! It is clear their passion has been put towards their guest’s enjoyment. This is a very nice setting for celebrating community if you crave this or peaceful alone time as well !

Staying at Secret Gardens by the Bay was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. Nestled in the stunning Santa Cruz mountains with ocean views and surrounded by nature, this place radiates beauty, creativity, and soul.
I wasn’t sure what to expect at first since it really is a secret gem, but I was so pleasantly surprised by how Yeyen, Farbod, and Umer went the extra mile to make it a truly unforgettable experience. Their kindness, thoughtfulness, and care created an atmosphere that felt welcoming, magical, and deeply grounding.
The space itself is peaceful and inspiring, with a decorative style that reflects a deep connection to sustainability, personal and spiritual growth, and artistic expression. Everywhere you look, there’s something unique—from art installations to cozy corners tucked into the gardens—and it all feels vibrant, thoughtful, and full of life.
I celebrated my birthday here and without question, it was the best birthday of my entire life. The space, the energy, the people—everything came together in the most beautiful way.
This isn’t just a place to stay. It’s an experience. A place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and soak in the magic. I truly believe everyone should experience it at least once. I know I’ll treasure it for the rest of my life.

It is a unique and interesting place to stay. I was impressed with Yeyen and Farbod who were very friendly and accommodating. You can tell they are proud of the oasis they have created. Overall, I had a wonderful stay.

The pictures definitely don’t do it justice, but that’s probably part of keeping it a secret. It’s classy, tranquil and quiet with a range of options for sleeping and relaxing. Host is gracious and kitchen is among the best I’ve used. Definitely NOT for party people

I’ve never stayed at such a magical place! I wish I lived there, and I’m beyond grateful to have experienced the energy of Yeyen, Farbod, Namvar, Moon, David, Baby bokchoy and the life of each plant. I hesitate writing a review purely out of selfishness because this is such a magical place and I’d hate to see it overrun or become impossible to book a spot. But it deserves to be seen and enjoyed by everyone! So much care, craftsmanship, and charm has gone into the design and layout of this place - honestly the one area for improvement I can think of would be to find better images for the listing that truly show off all the lovely details, rather than photos of nearby beaches… which really are just mere minutes away, but still… showcase YOUR magic, you guys! :) Both times I have stayed, I wanted nothing more than to stay on the campgrounds and just lounge the day away in one of the many seemingly hidden nooks carved into the sloping landscape. That’s saying a lot with all there is to do in the Santa Cruz area, including the aforementioned nearby beaches. I can’t wait to visit again!

Yeyen's land was so refreshing from the campgrounds I am accustomed to. We were greeted upon arrival. It was first solo trip for my son and I. They helped level up the 25' rig. I was grateful for that. The place is beautiful. Nice accommodations, lot of nice walking trails, amazing community kitchen, showers were so nice and very clean. Lovely, peaceful views and places to sit along the property. The construction and gardens were a delight. Everyone we encountered whether they were working there or visiting were friendly and kind. We had our Josie dog with us. She enjoyed all the walk abouts.

We had a wonderful time as a group of 8. This is a truly impressive property with lots of love and care all around. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed — just be sure to bring kitchen towels for drying dishes. Also recommend bringing eye masks as all the cabins have many windows/skylights w/o blackout curtains. Can’t wait to come back. An absolute gem.
