It’s a cozy outdoor spot with a nice view. Comfortable with electricity, a fire pit and most rustic amenities. If you are looking for a great outdoors and private jumping off point for the beach and wine country, you’ve found it.

This place is incredible! We really enjoyed it, comfortable bed, night stands, outlets to charge the phone, all while camping in a small cottage in wine country, beautiful!

Miles and Co. were very welcoming and easy to deal with. Really, we didn't interact with our hosts much, but the privacy was nice. The site is easy to find, it was easy to set up our gear. The bed in the small cabin is quite comfortable and the space is nice and airy. The sunset is absolutely stunning while you're sitting around the fire pit. We actually made dinner at the fire pit and had it going all night. The compost toilet doesn't smell at all, and that was private. And the outdoor shower is a superb added bonus. If you need to pick up supplies, there are stores just a few miles away. I'd suggest bringing some earplugs if you want to sleep in a little because the roosters and goats will make a little noise in the morning. But I found that charming.

Privacy, permaculture, friendly hosts. If you're like goats and waking up to a rooster crowing, using a composting toilet, and a beautiful view, you'll like this place. The outdoor shower is comfortable and the outhouse is clean and well kept. I stayed once when it was hot and the insects were a bit of a bother since the shelter is not screened. The second time, the temperature was much cooler and there was no problem at all. I would definitely stay here again!

Better than my dreams! Most beautiful view and grounds from very private spot. Immersed in the environment but with comforts like deck chairs running water. And close to town. True slice of peace. I’m in love and can’t wait to go back.

My Boyfriend and I stayed here back in February, beautiful views, beautiful property and wicked yard! I would just recommend bringing extra blankets if you are staying in a colder month because it can get a little chilly.

Me and my friends really enjoyed our night here. The cabin was very comfortable and has a beautiful view. The firepit, shower, and bathroom amenities were all great too. Also, across the way from the campsite, there is a family of cute goats that were fun to visit in the morning.

Canyon Camping in Wine Country
Cozy and fun environment with a great view. My kids and I were worried about the composting toilet, but it had no smell and felt like a normal restroom. Lots of nature and fresh air. So fun to see the garden surronedjnng you and all the animals too. Overall great experience

Really beautiful location in the woods. The hosts were great and respected privacy also shared a few eggs with us for breakfast from the heavens. Within 20 minutes of good restaurants and coffee too.

Exactly what you see it in photo, no frills but very reasonably priced for the area. Didn't get a chance to communicate much with the hosts, but super easy to find and private with the exception of the rooster crows at dawn and the goats :) It is partially open to make sure to bring plenty of blankets depending on the season!

We had a wonderful experience staying here while passing through the area on our way to Big Sur. The cabin was clean and so much better than sleeping in our tent. The view was spectacular and we were greeted upon arrival and given tips on where to go in the towns nearby for some drinks. Our gracious hosts even invited us to their lecture that evening. We really enjoyed seeing all of the farm animals as well. Would highly recommend!

I'm so glad we found this place! We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin at the Lavra community property! The canyon views are wonderful! All around great experience! The cabin is super cute and rustic, the bed is comfy and having electricity is a plus. There is a fun outdoor shower as well as a sink with running water! So convenient. The fire pit is wonderful! It was nice meeting some of the people who live on the property. I highly recommend making this a future destination. Yay for travel, adventure, and exploring!

Had a great experience staying at this place. If you wanna get up close and personal with a self sustaining community this is the place to be. Learned so many valuable things just hanging hanging out in the garden. Jacuzzi house has a great rustic feel and sitting on the balcony gives you fantastic views accompanied with a sense of peace and tranquility. All the members that live on the property are super nice and give you respect and privacy. Special thanks to Sam and Isabelle for good info and great conversation. Will definitely return over summer..

This place is a gem!! It's super quiet and beautiful country. The cabin is very low-key, don't expect anything fancy!! It's absolutely perfect for a getaway, and an easy "camp" spot. I was kind of sad I didn't get the chance to meet other people living on the land, but hey I've got no complaints about the area. The firepit is lovely too. Make sure to bring all your own camping cookware too! I forgot a few things, like my coffee maker oops. There is one electrical outlet in the cabin too if needed! Would definitely recommend, and I'd love to go back!

I needed a place to camp on my way from Joshua Tree to Oakland, and I was able to book same day with no issues. The site was a beautiful, peaceful garden where I could go feel safe while I camped alone. The cabin was adorable, but I actually opted to set up my tent on the porch in front, so that I could have one last tent night before I headed back to city life. Kayou was responsive and helpful, and I would happily go back next time I am in the area. I arrived too late to use the fire pit, but I sat and had my coffee in the morning, admired the garden flowers and veggies, and watched the sun come up over the hills. Great view, great spot. Highly recommend!
