Stemple Creek Ranch

After a week in the bustle of Carmel and Carmel Valley we needed a quiet place to stay going north. A three plus hour drive to the ranch was enough. Having a perfect place to camp by ourselves and not having to deal with anyone was ideal. A few cows came up the fence and checked us out. The night was dark and very quiet and being treated as a capable adults and taking care of ourselves was ideal. Will definitely stay there again.

Peaceful getaway

We always wonder why we would pay more than twice what others sites charge for very few amenities compared to the others. And it comes down to peace and quiet. No car noise. No boom boom music. The smell of the grass. The proximity to coastal and inland towns to explore. And the cooler weather. So while it's clearly the most expensive HipCamp we have ever splurged on (and we've been to a lot), we will likely continue to come back here and there. Just wish there was a porta potty at the site vs the trek down the hill. You really have to plan ahead for the walk.

Beautiful grove on private ranch

Perfect spot for a quick mid-week overnighter. I had the grove all to myself and enjoyed the peace and quiet. It was quite windy during my stay, so I had to park outside of the grove proper to avoid any falling branches. Was still pretty to be around. The washroom facilities are a far walk from the site, with that I'd say this site is best for fully self contained campers.

Super cozy cabin! Four of us stayed here very comfortably after a late night bioluminescence kayak tour in tomales bay. It was easy to arrive (very smooth self check in), everything was clear. Very nice beds. We didn’t really need the kitchen but it would have had everything we needed for easy meal prep. Highly recommend!

The Smell of Eucalyptus was Intense

My wife and I loved camping at Lisa's Hip Camp with our travel trailer. The view was marvelous, we enjoyed watching the ranchers feed the cattle. The bird songs were sweet and the smell of Eucalyptus permeated the air. The host's husband dropped by our camp to see if we were happy and of course we told him we were. When we arrived my wife said she thought she had gone to heaven. When we left she thanked me for the restful camping trip. Even though the site was more expensive than most Hip Camps we plan to return and camp there again.

Beautiful Ranch

We had a wonderful time camping at the ranch for a few nights. The campsite was clear and easy to reach. Lisa was very clear with the instructions for check-in and check-out and there was plenty of space between sites. The bathrooms were very clean and easy to access. If you’re looking for a place to stay in the area there are tons of hikes, places to eat, beaches… etc. 10/10 recommend.

Writers Cottage on Working Ranch

Peaceful retreat surrounded by beautiful scenery on a working ranch. The drive up to Tomales was like going into another time, especially as you got closer to the ranch. The cottage had the look and feel of a very comfortable cabin with all the basic amenities. My visit was too short for an overnight. Waking to the song of birds visiting the Cyprus tree and the cows mooing in the distance was a treat.

Charming Farmhouse on Organic Ranch

We loved staying here. It's cozy, comfortable, and beautiful - the perfect combination. We were four friends just enjoying each other's company and the accommodations worked well for us (4 separate beds including the pull out sofa for our snorer). It has all the modern comforts set in a wonderfully rustic and gorgeous location.

Beautiful property and great bathroom facilities. There was no one else camping there when we were there. Hot tip -- don't put your tent under the eucalyptus trees as they gather condensation from the fog and drip ;)

Solitude Close to the Ocean

Beautiful property. Quiet. Close enough to the ocean to enjoy a nice cool breeze at the top of the hill where you camp. Worked out perfectly for me as a stop-over on my way north. Ended up taking the scenic route up Hwy. 1 since it's right there. The campsite itself was a cozy spot under a eucalyptus tree. I did need to do a good wash of the vehicles because of the dew dripping off the tree, but worth the effort for a perfect little setup.

A specila spot in Tomales

This was my second overnight stay here and as good as the first. It is a beautiful spot-next to a grove of trees overlooking hills and farmland in a beautiful area. I worked with Lisa by text and she is very responsive. Everything is very clear.

Super cool spot with great highway access yet feels quite remote. Great directions and really nice setting. Best experienced in a fully contained vehicle - bathrooms are not near site. We had multiple owl sitings and the cows came to visit!

It was so peaceful and we really enjoyed the open space feeling surrounded by rolling hills and cattle. As an added bonus it was an easy visit to Dillon beach and Bodega Bay along with the quaint communities of Tomales and Valley Ford. Both have nice stores and restaurants. Thank you Stemple Creek! Charming Farmhouse on Organic Ranch

Perfect location for exploring the Sonoma Coast. Plenty of room and amazing views of the rolling hills and evening fog line above the Pacific. We had an incredible night for star gazing, as the fog didn’t make it all the way to us. Defiantly in the high end of pricing considering the overall amenities, but you can’t really put a price tag on the view and property. We will definitely be back soon.

Beautiful views, calm, serene. Loved the sheeps and there’s a swing that the kids loved. The host came out to meet us and was so nice. Good communication and clear direction. Close to Dillan beach which was great and close to Tomales which in spite of being a small town hd surprisingly amazing food take out! A 1000 percent recommend.

Beautiful land

Lovely spot, especially this time of year after a rainy winter (February). Everything is so green. Loved the sound of the farm animals and the overall peacefulness of the spot. Lucky to be the only hipcampers there to enjoy it for ourselves. Not sure it would have felt so private with other campers there. A little on the higher price side for a place to park our van, but suppose that keeps out the partying type campers. Be aware it is about a 1000ft walk down the hill (and back up) to get to the bathroom. Nice bathroom, clean and new. It's part of the land that is used for the wedding venue and AirBnB's. It's a lovely little set up. Would overall recommend this spot.

the land is beautiful, but I was given a space next to a pile of wood chips. From the communication before it felt I was not expected to be welcomed or find any help so I felt hesitant reaching out to the farm manager. She seemed overwhelemed by having to find another spot for me. Eventually we managed to find a spot that worked out nice. It just didnt feel very welcoming and I feel that $100 is quite expensive.
