Within a 30-minute drive from the Joshua Tree Visitor Center.
People come to this site for backpacking, day hikes, trail races, and a bit of cycling too. This is 2.25 acres of protected Joshua Tree lands in the Antelope Valley couple hours east from LA. You will enjoy super dark skies, and a million stars at night. It feels like the wild west out here. Think long dirt roads, tumbleweeds, bones. Joshua Tree Downtown is located about 10 minutes drive where you can access convenience stores, groceries stores, restaurants, bars, etc. The land is for camping only. You can set up your tents on the ground, rooftop tents, stay in your RV, etc. The property does not have connections for water, electricity, or sewer. If you have a larger group or event in mind, get in touch! We can figure out how to accommodate you.For about the last 8 years, I've spent all my spare time outside. My first time out there I saw BOTH ENDS of a rainbow in front of the snowy Tehachapis!! Super dark skies, and a million stars at night. It feels like the wild west out here. Think long dirt roads, tumbleweeds, bones, and maybe some old bullet shells (there's no shooting allowed on the property anymore). The property itself is along a "road" called Avenue C, but I'd be shocked if you encountered anyone driving along there. Except possibly another group of campers. This land used to be the domain of the Ketanemuk tribe, which I think means People From The East. In the summer they would go up and hunt and get pine nuts in the Tehachapi Mountains, and acorns from the oak trees in the San Gabriels. About a 20 minute drive from the town of Neenach (pronounced Nee-nack), where there's a general store and a cafe. They make a great breakfast burrito. A few minutes from the State Poppy Reserve, which blooms in the spring with miles of California poppies. If you have a larger group or event in mind, get in touch! Alexander, the host was great, but the place didn’t feel safe. I had someone approaching me while setting up camp so I didn’t feel good staying overnight as I was traveling alone. I ended up finding BLM land for the night. Again, Alexander was very responsive and the place looks like advertised …. Just not the right circumstances.

I had a good time camping with my girl we saw a meteor shower 🏕️ great view of the sky.....it's a dirt road 4x4 recommended........I would recommend to my friends....I would like to say thank you host ..... it's easier to find in the day time

Beautiful views of the stars out there and the host was easy to get ahold of! For the great price that’s all I could really ask for. As long as you have your own stuff/supplies to use out there I’d definitely recommend!

Beware if you are trying to stay at the stargaze property in Joshua Tree as the description is very misleading. It is a polluted vacant lot next to an abandoned car junkyard. There are no “sites”, signs or designated areas although they claim there are on the listing. It is definitely not the stylee unique feel of the other venues we have stayed at in the past with Hipcamp. We couldn’t even stay on the property as it was very sketchy and our safety felt compromised at the moment we got there. The host was not willing to listen to reasons for not staying as he said the moment he gave us the address there was no chance of us getting our money back. Worst spot ever and in the middle of a dusty washed out field.

If you’re looking for a safe and secluded space with amazing views, this is the perfect location to pull off to. Right next to all the spots most people would adventure to during a stay in Joshua Tree as well. My partner and I really enjoyed our stay, and Alex is a very responsive and kind host

It was just what we needed. A quiet place to pull off and sleep for the night. The stars were beautiful. Some things to note: The road was a significant washboard to get there, there are some broken down vehicles nearby and some garbage strewn about here and there. But we felt safe and it was quiet. No one bothered us and we were there for the stars as well as entrance to Joshua Tree the next day. So it was perfect.

Hey it was an amazing site, a litel hard to find because it was in nowhere. But thats exactly what we wanted. Short trip to the NP and amazing view for the stars with out any anoying streetlamps.
