Above the Clouds, Below the Stars
We absolutely loved Daniel's property and couldn't believe it was near Santa Cruz! He has a gorgeous space at the very top of a mountain with sweeping views of the forest, and you can even see Monterey Bay in the distance. The big outdoor firepit is so cozy to warm up around, and it's right next to a pond that is gorgeous and swimmable in the summer. The nearby outdoor shower has views of the mountains, and the composting toilet is a short walk away. The tent sites are scattered throughout the towering trees, some with convenient picnic tables that are perfect for cooking up a meal in the forest. When we weren't in our tent, we were relaxing on the couch nestled in the redwood grove, chilling in the giant tree hammock strung high off the ground, or sitting in the hanging Cacoons at the edge of the mountain! There are a couple hiking trails that lead down the side of the mountain as well. Would definitely recommend 4WD to get up to Skyview, but the climb is so, so worth it!
Daniel was so warm, friendly, and accommodating throughout our whole stay! He was there to answer any questions we had and made us feel comfortable as soon as we arrived on the property. Daniel and Ya Mei were amazing, communicative hosts, and we would love to stay with them again.

The View…
Large site and welcoming host/campers. Thank you Daniel for your flexibility and hospitality. We enjoyed camping out a night, meeting the other campers, and features/view. Looking forward to a longer stay next time around!

Best Campground Ever
We were living the good life in Morning Light. It was beautiful, spacious, and the people there are incredible. My only complaint is that I had to go home.

Skyview was absolutely beautiful and well maintained (no trash, nice seating areas). The site offered a lot of beauty and memorable people (SO Jaret!). Definitely recommend staying here.

Morning Light
Great camping with amazing views
This is a great spot to camp! We had a large secluded campsite well away from others on the property. Picnic tables and composting toilets were a short walk away. And everyone was incredibly welcoming. It was a delightful weekend.
The real highlights were the beach area, which has a nice shade structure and sand to hang out on, and the ridge area, where there are amazing views at sunrise and sunset.
Plus, it was remarkably toddler friendly with almost no poison oak and lots of safe room to play.
The only thing I would advise is to drive a vehicle with some extra clearance and be comfortable on rural dirt roads. Our A3 hatchback bottomed out in a few spots, but we made it.

Tent Camping at Morning Light
My girlfriend and I had an absolutely amazing time tent camping here. The property was gorgeous, and the amenities were endless, not to mention the spectacular views! I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to get out into nature and have an outdoor adventure.
