Excellent on all levels! The views overall were beautiful, especially #1, directions were clear, we felt safe, and the site was spacious enough for our travel trailer. Having the fire pit was definitely nice. Our host was very responsive. Our 2 and 4 years old boys had the best time exploring. I would definitely recommend this spot.

Nice, private camping
I had a nice couple of nights at Scenic Valley View (#3)! The view was limited, due to the vegetation, but still beautiful. I felt safe and secluded on the property, which was just what I was looking for. I only saw other campers when they were on their way to and from the site that was further down the road. We shared friendly waves, but that’s about it! The campsite across from mine, #4, was vacant during my trip. The hosts drove by once on their way to service one of the sites, and their dog stopped by to say hello :)
I enjoyed the amenities the site had to offer: a picnic table, trash can, water spigot (non-potable), and I opted to pay the additional fee for a two-burner stove and fire pit with a 5Gal propane tank. “The Loo” was just across the road from the campsite, which was convenient. At the hottest time of the day you’ll get some pesky flies, but there weren’t any wasps. All-in-all, a great spot!

Spacious and excellent location
Amazing location at the top of the mountain - large camping space with sand rather than dirt at the site. There was a water faucet for running water use, so if you haven’t good filter, you can avoid buying a bunch of bottled water. The outdoor grill and fireplace were worthwhile investments. Highly recommend. Beautiful view overlooking the nearby towns. My dog loved the space and ran off a bit but found her way back.

I stayed at 3 … it was good ! 1 looked a little better … but a bit more expensive so I chose 3. No problem w wasps what so ever - I went in beginning of September, took the motorcycle, I don’t own a dirt bike , the roads were easy for the old moto that I have. I followed GPS whole way till very last bit where you basically open the gate , enter and you’re there … it’s convenient having the propane for the mini fire pit already there especially if you’re traveling light - very appreciative to be able to stay - thx for hosting !

Such a beautiful spot!! Amazing star gazing in a tranquil spot so close to San Jose! Easy to follow directions from the hosts and a well maintained and clean spot to set up camp. My Prius was able to get up there, but it was a harrowing journey for my little hybrid 😅

Amazingggg site! This was so beautiful and looked over the valley AND the clouds. I’ve lived in Santa Cruz for years and never knew this existed only 45 min away. The weather up here was warm and skies were clear blue while it was all foggy and cold in town. Also, the hosts were very kind and responsive even last minute!

Great spot on a clear starry night
Enjoyed the privacy. Location was a lot more off-roading than expected. Thankfully my vehicle is a 4x4. View of the valley was limited due to shrubs and trees. Best part was a clear night and the stars. I would stay again.

Come for the sunrise!
Make sure you get on Summit Rd. from the South. The drive is worth it. I have 4WD but didn’t need it. Plenty of room for parking and tents at this site. I chose to set up my small tent on the far side of the picnic table so that I could enjoy the view of the sunrise. This spot is removed from the others, making it more private. A nearby neighbor is apparently a future (or past?) rock-n-roll guitarist, which made for an interesting background soundscape. Not too loud, though. The host was friendly and responsive when I couldn’t figure out how to start the propane fire pit. I need to mention the stars at night! Living in the Bay Area, I’m surrounded by constant light pollution. I saw several shooting stars once the moon turned in for the night. There is also the occasional shriek from a nearby fox and yes, the wasps were present. They were mostly noisy and occasionally rude (getting near my face while I was taking pictures of the sunrise). Overall, a great spot and I will definitely return!

The views are wonderful. The road leading to the property is definitely a long, bumpy, dirt road. Nothing we couldn’t handle but wanted to put it out there. No shade, but we had our pop up
Awning, so make sure if you are going during the summer months to bring shade and a fly swatter lol.

Beautiful Valley Views
This campsite is awesome. Super spacious, super secluded (minus the 3 other campsites), and has an amazingly beautiful view of the valley. The road up to it is a little rough, probably doable in any car, but definitely easier in something 4x4/higher clearance. I'd definitely recommend this place to friends.

Far away but solid campsite!
Overall it was a solid campsite! We enjoyed how clean it was and it had great amenities (bathroom and picnic table). It felt a little bit not very private and there was a random dog who came up to our tent and peed on it. We also felt like it was very far away if we were staying longer and we wanted to go hiking or walking we couldn't do that. Appreciative of response of hosts and great clear site for tent camping though!

Room w a view
Great views. Ride up is a little harrowing with limited service but directions were solid. We stayed at site #2. At that site we hiked in about 100 yds from the picnic table and park area to a clearing where there is plenty of room for 3+ tents. Spectacular stars with just little light pollution. Needed to hike a little further for good views of the valley and there was not much room to spread out in that spot. Make sure to bring some deet. Bugs were out in force. One critique was the the honey bucket. It’s shared among all four campsites so it gets a lot of use and when we visited the tank filled up.

Tent camping
I loved tent camping on N & S’s land. The space was perfect and it was private with its own short trail. If you walk a little you can get some beautiful views. Having water on site was a huge deal and very convenient. The drive up took a while because of the dirt road but it wasn’t bad at all. We didn’t have to change our Jeep to 4 wheel at all

Secluded
The site is definitely the most secluded visually from the 3 others that are off the Valley View spur. It was clean and ready to go and private. There is no view with this particular site which helpeditigate the wind and provide ahade. The downside is that we would have been disappointed that there was no gas fire pit, had we not had our own along. Also, for the price the toilet advertised was lacking in care.

Loved the site! The drive up was spectacular and the directions were great.
It is a decent drive on a dirt road with hill so keep that in mind if hen choosing your vessel
