Shimmerback Ranch Creekside Magic
Really unique property. We had a great time cooking meals in the outdoor kitchen, hanging out watching movies on the projector in the lounge area, and exploring nearby attractions. Ben was very friendly and responsive. I’d love to come back here some day.

Wonderful place. We really enjoyed our fellow campers and the outdoor kitchen living room.
The bridge leading to the hot tub and shower was too precarious for us but we were ok with that.

Such a beautiful place! Everything you’ll need and more. Wish we could have stayed longer. Love the hangout area. Spent our time eating, drinking and laughing. Bridge is fun to walk across.

Ben has created such a magical spot with so many gems and just wonderful energy throughout the whole place and met some of the most lovely humans there. Great location. Friendly host. Swimming hole! Lots of options to set up your own tent or use one provided by the host. Full service outdoor kitchen - it feels a little bit like a camp at burning man.

A magical experience
This place is a gem! My partner and I had an amazing weekend getaway at Shimmerback and can’t wait to go back. Ben is a wonderful host and has created such a magical sanctuary. The hot tub, swinging bridge, swimming hole in the creek, fairy lights all over…I can’t recommend it highly enough.

We came out here for pride weekend. it was hella hot so we really appreciated getting to swim in the creek. Ben's ranch is really beautiful, magical, and queer AF <3 A great place to get some nature time without much stress. Really well stocked kitchen with a lot of unexpected appliances e.g. espresso machine and blender. The outdoor shower was lovely too.
It was just what we needed--a safe and private place in nature to unplug and tune in. We would love to come back with a few more friends next time. :) thanks Ben!

Shimmerback is a lovely property. Plenty to enjoy and explore — trees, creek, hot tub, trails — and amenities that bring it to a different level of camping (full kitchen, bathrooms, tents ready to go). Well positioned to visit the coast and the redwoods too. Ben and Yellowstone are super welcoming and nice guys.

Shimmerback Ranch is a beautiful property with many sweet and charming details. Ben and Yellowstone are warm and very invested in making it feel like home. We appreciated exploring the surroundings, wandering down the creek, and lounging in all of the beautifully curated nooks and crannies. Such a special time!

Magical birthday camping weekend
I had a birthday camping weekend at Shimmerback and it was truly incredible! Catering was provided and wow I've never eaten more delicious and healthy food while camping! It was affordable too - truly a game changer. Shimmerback is a special place. We loved the hikes on the property, soaking in the hot tub while star gazing, cold plunges in the creek, and hanging in the new hookah lounge! We had a fun campfire and all played instruments! If you're just camping - DO IT! If you're interested in gathering a larger group 1,000% DO IT!!!

Dreamy Nature Queer Glamping 🥹💖
I cannot say enough about Shimmerback Ridge. The land itself is beautiful and full of interesting features (both natural and not). The grounds are thoughtfully laid out and lovingly maintained. The creek is clean and flowing- I spent an entire day floating on a raft on a hot day! The wood fire hot tub and cozy hookah lounge are *chef’s kiss*.
I’ve had stays in two different very large glamping tents and both of them we’re so cute and comfortable! Tons of room for tents and several tents already set up. The outdoor kitchen is incredible. We had a catered four day stay and the food, prepared on site, was truly inspired. Ben and Yellowstone (and their community) have put a lot of soul into this place are absolutely lovely hosts. This is a wonderful place to shed some city armor and get weird with friends in nature!

Perfect Gay Getaway
This place is magic! The creek is the perfect spot to spend the day lounging and reading, and the hosts have set it up so you have a good choice of where to stay and what to do. Plenty of hangout spots, lots of good company, would definitely recommend this spot.

Shimmerback Ranch was the most relaxing and perfect weekend away from the city. The hospitality was unbelievable, the wood fired hot tub was absolute perfection, and the full kitchen made camping so easy - seriously, they had every appliance you could think of. Cannot recommend Shimmerback Ranch enough! We will be back.

Camping in a Dream!
Everything (except the sound of the highway, but that was out of everyone's control) was glorious about Shimmerback Ranch! There were multiple spots to choose to stake down our tent...hmmm...near the amazingly well-stocked outdoor kitchen with everything you might think you could need and then more, by the river or the delightful bridge, better yet the flushable toilet, oh heck...what about the wood-fired hot tub, but wait, we'll take the open space so we can stargaze! I mean, seriously, three days and two nights wasn't nearly long enough on the land, nor long enough to get to know and hang out with Ben, Yellowstone, Lola, and Jenny. It was dreamy beyond a fantasy land I had never visualized in my head. I hope to find myself back there again and for maybe a week! Thank you Ben and Yellowstone!

Woodsy Wonderland
This is no campground milling with families a few yards away, my friends, 1000 times better. I stayed at Shimmerback Ranch for a much too short 3 day weekend and I could not believe this little gem in the middle of nowhere. Actually, it was Super easy to find, literally right off of 101. once you make a crazy drive on some switchback Dirt roads and over a bridge, Ben, our incredibly gracious host, met us and showed us where our tent was, which was next to a river with nothing else in sight but trees and the sound of rushing water below. Ben has transformed a long-standing open structure with hanging grapevines into a beautiful living room/dining room/full kitchen, so that you are cooking outside but with all the comforts and amenities you need, but didn’t need to bring. At night, I fell asleep to the sounds I usually have on my Pandora Nature station. The next few days we hiked up the river for hours, surrounded by solitude and natural beauty, and again up some hills overlooking a beautiful valley, then cooled off after dinner lounging in rafts in a little lagoon in the river, which requires an adventurous cross over a lighted swinging Bridge. At night, we gazed at the stars from a wood burning hot tub next to the river. Is this place for real?

Literal heaven
This was my most magical Hipcamp experience ever! Shimmerback Ranch is the perfect getaway if you want to relax in nature. The creek was so special. We spent a day just floating on rafts and hanging in hammocks. The living space is perfect for hanging in the evening. Being able to use what is basically an outdoor Nancy Meyers Kitchen was fantastic and we made delicious meals. Ben G is very welcoming and sweet but gave us plenty of space. He's a gem and great to chat with. We were the only ones there so it felt extra amazing to have this oasis to ourselves. Who doesn't love being naked in the sun. It's 1.5 from Ave of Giants which has amazing redwoods. I will be coming back!

Rejuvenation Station <3
This place is such a gem - Ben made us feel so welcome from the start and throughout the whole trip. There is a glorious hot tub with a few of the maple and oak tree forest and a beautiful creek. The kitchen is immaculate and there were so many camping nooks to choose from for our tent. We want to come back and highly recommend!!
