We loved the peaceful location within close proximity to wineries, but away from traffic noise. The hosts were friendly, responsive, and accommodating, and the nearby campers were quiet and respectful of our privacy, as we were of theirs.

We brought our travel trailer here and we were absolutely stunned by the view from the Pepper campsite. The backdrop of the mountains at sunset were amazing and we even caught the hot air balloons our last morning there! Having the fresh water spout was a great addition as well as the bench and chairs.
My only comment was it was a little less private than expected, but it was certainly the most private of all the options and we were able to angle our car perfectly to block the main house. Overall we would absolutely stay here again for wine tasting and stargazing!

We had a great stay, with a great host who greeted me when we got there. Site was as advertised, directions were spot on. It was a perfect spot near Galway Downs where my daughter had a tournament. Thank you again for allowing us to stay on your property with a nice view!

Garth and his wife have an absolutely beautiful property. We stayed at Pepper, the one at the top of the hill, and it was well worth it. The views are incredible, and the camp site was clear and spacious. Garth was very attentive, and was very good about communicating through the hipcamp messenger. They were excellent hosts, and I don't know what more anyone could ask for. They gave us great recommendations for wineries, and were fantastic all around. We had a view of the hot air balloons launching in the morning and bird watching was great, especially near dawn. It was also easy to get a rideshare from the property to the wineries. 10/10 would do this again. It is an excellent way to enjoy some low stakes camping, disconnect for a bit, and experience temecula's wine country.

Such a great campsite. Had views of the hot balloons every morning around 7:30 am. We were fortunate to have the campgrounds to ourselves and it was clean and pretty. Our dog loved running around the grounds too. It’s a short 15 min drive to old town and even shorter of a drive to many of the local wineries. I’d definitely recommend and stay again. Garth was very kind and chatted with us a bit and gave us some spots to hit up next time we’re in town.

We loved campong at the Pepper campsite at Shadow Hills! It has a beautiful view, two nice chairs and a table, as well as potable water. We saw hot air balloons in the morning. Shadow Hills is very close to many wineries, but you feel like your away from the hustle and bustle and immersed in nature. Pepper is the most private of the campsites. The other two campsites are right next to eachother and would be fun for a group of friends. We will be back!

We loved camping on Garth’s land. He’s got flat ground and a great setup. Watching the hot air balloons rise over the hill in the morning was spectacular. Excellent camping, excellent host, excellent trip 10/10.

I stayed at the Pepper Site. Excellent 360 views, quiet, easy to get too and super clean. I brought my camper van and opened up the doors to the views. It had a picnic table and chairs so I didn’t even have to set my own up. Owners are very kind and hospitable.

I loved camping on Garth’s land! Garth is very hospitable and kind! The property is not hard to find at all. He has three beautiful sites to choose from. We stayed at the “Pepper” site that had Ahh-mazing 360* views. We only stayed one night because a friend and I are testing out our rigs/setups before our big adventure in January. Loved to see the hot air balloons flying over the hills the next morning. The sites were top notch with access to well water, trash cans, 2 chairs, picnic tables, a toilet (if need) and most importantly, THE VIEWS!! Would definitely camp here again! Thanks again Garth!

Loved how easy it was to camp here. We only needed camp for the night and we left early so we didn’t get to explore the camp area. Found the site easily and it’s close to various wineries. The site had a table, bench and two cute Adirondack chairs. It was clean with access to water and trash cans. Garth had asked if we needed a luggable loo (which we did) and it was waiting for us, set up, complete with toilet paper and a small pop up privacy tent. The night sky was gorgeous! We sat outside for some time with our kids just stargazing. Would definitely camp here again.

Very pretty! There was a truck in the driveway so we couldn't get to our site. We reached out to the owner and he wasn't able to come right away so we agreed to stay in another spot. Owner was apologetic and refunded the difference without me asking. Thank you! Your house and your property are gorgeous! So jealous! Thank you

My husband and I enjoyed our two-night stay at Shadow Hills (Pepper site) with our dogs. The site was large and flat. Garth greeted us shortly after we arrived. The scenery was beautiful and was made even better by the sunset views. It was very peaceful. The chairs, table, and potable water were nice to have. We enjoyed our stay and will be planning another trip in the near future.

Great spot! The views were the best! We couldn’t agree which side we liked best, they were all great. We spent the day at Lake Skinner nearby. Parked a pop up and had two kids under 6 and we all enjoyed it. We would stay again.
