San Diego Mountain Lodge is a beautiful escape to nature sprawled out over about 40 acres on a breathtaking spot that we call Hideout Mountain in Santa Ysabel, CA. Multiple experiences are offered: -- glamping in our vintage camper trailers, -- RV sites with full hookups and incredible views of Lake Henshaw -- campsites, -- luxury camping in our remodeled cabins (studio, 1br, and 2br cabins) each with different amenities ranging from full kitchens, wood burning fireplaces, large outdoor decks and private fire pits. Gather and share ideas with fellow guests at our community firepit and picnic tables. What makes Hideout Mountain a magical place? #1 on the list are the stunning views as far as the eye can see of Lake Henshaw and the valley and surrounding mountains. We also have a one-of-a-kind, world renowned restaurant and bar on the property: Josie's Hideout Saloon, open on weekends with live music. We are located just a few minutes drive away from downtown Santa Ysabel and Julian, with easy access off Hwy 76.

The Perch - RV Parking
Beautiful weekend!
The site was easily accessible for our 30’ fifth wheel. The road was in good shape and maintained well. Water and power was nicely situated near the best views on the site. The staff are friendly and helpful. The view was serene and peaceful. There was no other camp site in view (amazing) just Palomar Mountain and lake Henshaw. Beautiful star gazing and quiet mornings. We were there on a weekend so the sounding roads have a lot of motorcycles riding out to the mountains during the daytime. All in all The campsite is well worth checking out, you wouldn’t be disappointed.

RV Campsite #1 - The Crossing
Camping with my love
We loved the Perch view at the top and the cute biker bar at the bottom of the hill! It was the most beautiful space with friendly staff and campers. Truly the best view I have seen this year!

RV Campsite #1 - The Crossing
The Crossing is a great campsite. It's huge with 2 sets of hookups. Walk down the stairs to Josie's for something to eat or drink and listen to music. I wish the site had some sort of shade and the ground was really uneven, which meant leveling the trailer was quite a challenge. Overall, it was a great weekend!

RV Campsite #15 - Scenic Sanctuary
Easy camping
Camp site 15 had amazing views. Hearing the coyotes howl as the sun was going down and as the sun was coming up was an added bonus. Extremely well cared for site with clean bathroom and shower. We loved it here. We will definitely be back!

RV Campsite #16 - The Amphitheater
The Pros: Great views, great outdoor facilities. Shower was amazing during the hot day. Kept the water cold. It was so refreshing! Host came to greet us and was very nice. The Cons: we came with a 14” travel trailer and it was a very tight squeeze. No real room to maneuver the trailer because the area drops below/close to a cliff but if you’re bringing a tent it is a great amount of space. WiFi was non existent, very low strength but we had excellent cell service.
