San Diego Mountain Lodge is a beautiful escape to nature sprawled out over about 40 acres on a breathtaking spot that we call Hideout Mountain in Santa Ysabel, CA. Multiple experiences are offered: -- glamping in our vintage camper trailers, -- RV sites with full hookups and incredible views of Lake Henshaw -- campsites, -- luxury camping in our remodeled cabins (studio, 1br, and 2br cabins) each with different amenities ranging from full kitchens, wood burning fireplaces, large outdoor decks and private fire pits. Gather and share ideas with fellow guests at our community firepit and picnic tables. What makes Hideout Mountain a magical place? #1 on the list are the stunning views as far as the eye can see of Lake Henshaw and the valley and surrounding mountains. We also have a one-of-a-kind, world renowned restaurant and bar on the property: Josie's Hideout Saloon, open on weekends with live music. We are located just a few minutes drive away from downtown Santa Ysabel and Julian, with easy access off Hwy 76.

The Cove: Oak-Tree Shaded Campsite
Camping with my 2yrs old GSD
The cove was perfect esp for beginners. On site manager resolved the issue regarding the noise of the people who happened to be right accross our campsite. Place is well kept and clean. Will definitely come back and will recommend the place to my friends.

Sunshine Retreat- VCT#2 - Pet Free
Wonderful camping site for family!!
This was a beautiful and spacious space to camp. There was enough room for 2 large tents to be set up and a pop up. There is a large fire pit with table and chairs near. We backed up our mini van and used that for a sleeping space also. The Rv was amazing!! It was clean and had kitchen space and a clean functional toilet which was such a blessing! The views of lake were beautiful! The only negative was the site isn’t that level so there is some sloping down if you are in tents, but it’s very manageable!

The Cove: Oak-Tree Shaded Campsite
Quiet escape with much to do!
Had a great stay at SDML, will 100% stay here again! I took my dog and she loved it as well especially since she was able to stay off leash. Clean and taken care of facilities. The Cove had lots of shade which was super helpful during summer (we came mid July). Host was very welcoming and approachable. I loved how peaceful and respectful everyone was, not sure if that changes during different seasons but I appreciated the mutual respect everyone had. The cove was first come first serve and glad we got there before the other group because site 2 has the most shade. There were surprisingly many things to do, we ended up visiting Julian which was very nearby and a cider brewery nearby. Very cool experience overall!

# 11 The Luminous Lodge - Cabin
The view was nice. Cabin is ok, everything is functional. If you just want to getaway for peace and quiet. This is the place. But if you are looking for some other things to do, not for you. Dog friendly if you want to treat your dogs for a weekend getaway just like we did.
