Repeat visitor, had a great stay as always! This is the first time we checked out the Mercantile and it did not disappoint. It’s fully stocked with meats, eggs, and other goodies and as a fun addition to this day, definitely recommend hiking up to check it out.

We absolutely love this campsite! We brought our popup camper this time and it was perfect. The owners are very kind and being able to go get fresh meat at their mercantile is really awesome too. Site #3 is private and has the redwood deck overlooking Salmon Creek. Its our 3rd time at this spot and we will come here many more. I should also note that the porta potty is always clean and well maintained.

Incredible campsite tucked away on a beautiful ranch. The ranch owners are very nice and welcoming. The farm store with fresh duck eggs was a wonderful surprise!

We had an amazing time staying at John & Lesley’s ranch. The area was beautiful and peaceful, and the sites were very well maintained. The drive down to the sites was so fun! Also highly recommend buying some of their beef, we had the flank steak and it was delicious! So good, we had to bring some home. Our pup thoroughly enjoyed the trails and trees, and we are already planning when we can come back!

Creekside Camp #1
Lovely place to camp close to San Francisco. The campsite is tucked away in a little valley by a creek and is shielded from coastal winds. The land has plenty of trails to explore and the farm store has lots of produce to purchase. Would definitely stay again

We had an amazing time tent camping on Lesley and John’s farm. The directions were very clear and the owner welcomed us as we arrived. We picked up ground beef for dinner and duck eggs for breakfast from the Mercantile. Camp site 1 is under a canopy of redwoods and we could hear trees moving and breathing through the night. These is enough space for 3 tents.
There was a bonus of no phone reception, which helped to unwind, but little closer to the meadow and to the creek phone was picking up.

First time here and we had a wonderful time! The campsite was spacious and the large wood platform worked really well for setting up multiple tents which kept us all out of the dirt. Plenty of tree canopy so the site was very cool even mid-day of a warm but not hot mid-June day. Excellent privacy which we really valued with Redwood #3 having a large meadow roughly a football field away from us and the other two Redwood sites. Kind of a long walk to the centrally located Port-a-Potty between the three Redwood sites, but that's the price of all that privacy. We will definitely be back!
Note: AWD/4WD and good driving skills are needed for the sloped/rutted road down to and especially up from the three Redwood campsites. Our AWD Mazda SUV worked but we did nearly get stuck driving up the road the first time we tried (driving too slowly). Recommend booking one of the Creekside campsite which is accessible from the road if you do not have the appropriate type vehicle.

Great place, lots of trails, close to Bodega Bay and the beach. It’s quiet, secluded, and you’re protected from wind, light pollution, and all you hear are the owls at night. We’ve stayed twice now and plan on making it a yearly tradition.

Gorgeous ranch! We had such a good time at Creekside Camp 1. The creek is truly beautiful and we saw so many butterflies. The steaks and duck eggs were delicious and Lesley is such a sweetheart. Thanks for letting us stay with you and we are looking forward to our next trip.

This was my second stay and it was just as enjoyable as the first stay!! I would definitely recommend staying here. John is so nice, the campground was clean and it’s close to town and the beach.

Creekside Camp #2
The place is quiet and surrounded by trees, with a lovely creek nearby. There are other campsites nearby but far enough apart that we could almost feel all by ourselves. The site was big enough for our 2 tents and family of 5. We enjoyed hiking on the ranch and talking with the owners; we even bought some duck eggs and had them for breakfast (delicious!). The portable toilet was clean and did not smell bad at all. We would definitely go back!

We absolutely loved tent camping at this site. The creek nearby was so peaceful and we fell asleep to the sound of the water. The site felt very safe and private. Coming here at the end of spring was also very magical with lots of flowers everywhere. Highly recommend!

Redwood Camp #2
We stayed at Redwood Camp #2. What a delightful private spot that was. We shared the meadow with two other groups, and said hello, but we had a lot of space to ourselves. A portion of the creek was very close to our campsite and not hard to access. The dirt road into the site is a little rough, but not a challenge for our Rav 4 SUV. We didn't walk about the animal pens since we had a dog with us, but we visited to Mercantile on the way out and picked up a few things. That was a nice, unique end to our stay. We met the hosts and both were very nice and enthusiastic about us having a nice time. We texted the day of our arrival to make sure there wouldn't be any issues with access.

We had a great time at redwood camp 2! The secluded tent spot in the woods was perfect and fit even our giant 8 person tent. It’s set back away from the campfire ring making it perfect for littles to fall asleep and parents to stay up a little later. LOVED all the wildlife to be found, banana slugs, newts, coyotes, and a chorus of birds to wake us up every morning. Easy to find, friendly host, nice trails, even a tree swing for the littles!

This place was amazing!! Especially awesome was the fact that were the only campers on the redwood side, so it was silent the whole time. But even besides that, it’s such a beautiful hidden spot and the women there who helped us with check-in and such was so nice. The creek is also so beautiful. There is a large open field area but the three redwood campsites are secluded so your tent is hidden. I would come back here in a heartbeat and plan to in the future. The note on needing either 4WD or AWD is very true too…the road down to the campsite is steep and has deep ridges from winter rains so my 4wD got a workout!

We had such an amazing, peaceful, and memorable time here. It was the first time my girls went camping and they are hooked. It’s exactly what I wanted them to experience. Not a lot of people and just pure nature.
The duck eggs were a nice addition and we were so close to Bodega Bay. We will definitely be back again and again!

We loved camping on John & Lesley’s farm! Great hosts and even better grass fed beef. Tranquil meadows set against a beautiful redwood backdrop. 4WD definitely required for access to the campsites.

We stayed at redwood campsite #3 and had an absolutely lovely time at Salmon Creek. The sites are spacious and spaced quite far apart. Having access to the creek and various hiking trails was lovely. Our dog enjoyed having freedom to run around without worrying about bothering other guests. We'd be delighted to return again!
You definitely need a AWD / 4x4 car to get down to the redwood sites.

Site #2 was nice, right next to the road and a Honey Bucket. Couldn't find the trail to the animals. Difficult finding the campsites. Not much help from hosts. But still such a beautiful area, you can't go wrong. Sites clean and quiet.

Such a beautiful spot! The ranch is gorgeous, with lots of fun animals! John and Lesley were very kind and gave great recommendations for things to do nearby. The treehouse is secluded and has everything you need. We brought food to cook and used a camping stove, but there is a grill and a firepit with a grate. Bring firewood! It was stunning and so peaceful.

Absolutely incredible stay. The place is incredibly cozy, the amenities are beautiful and very functional and the property itself is a lovely place to wander. John and Lesley are fabulous hosts.

This is an amazing piece of property and the campsites feel right at home here - secluding and away from just about everything. Table, fire ring and plenty of space and privacy, this is a really great spot to get away for a night or two.

Incredible experience all around. The grounds were beautiful. It was fun getting to the site and the property leading up is also gorgeous. John & Lesley were extremely hospitable and helpful. I’m definitely coming back here again!

We stayed at #3 and it was perfection! The deck made tent camping more comfortable. The location was incredible and we had the place to ourselves for most of our stay. We lucked out with the weather and we were able to enjoy tons of spring flowers. Our dog had a great time running in the meadow. Next time we will bring our own porta potty.

Such an awesome spot! The campsites are located in a little meadow on a nearly 400 acre farm. I recommend having 4x4 to get down there. The dirt road is pretty steep and bumpy. We had a truck camper on which made it a little sketchier but we got down. Sites are well maintained as is the porty potty. Don’t forget to buy some duck eggs and meats on your way out
