Reptacular Ranch is a 15-acre ranch in the middle of the Angeles National Forest. It's also a private zoo of over 500 animals!  Our 15-acre ranch is in the Angeles National Forest - near Los Angeles. The Angeles National Forest of the U.S. Forest Service is located in the San Gabriel Mountains and Sierra Pelona Mountains, primarily within Los Angeles County in southern California. The Forest is one of the few remaining open space areas in Southern California.   The forest is an important part of the overall health and well being of the area population. It provides open space, solitude from the everyday stress of modern living, a place to conduct research, a haven for wildlife, and offers a wide variety of recreation opportunities. Reptacular Ranch is also a private zoo of animals including tortoises and farm animals like goats, sheep, alapacs, cows, donkeys, turkeys and pigs. We have lots of birds, reptiles, and a camel and zebra! Welcome.

Camping with Cows
The kids loved that there was 2 cows pen up right next to campsite, "camping with us" and that they got to feed them a couple of times. Site was well setup with picnic tables and well build campfire ring.

Unique Camping Experience & Animals
Cory was quick to respond and helped me book a same day stay when our original plan fell through due to bad weather. We were greeted at the front gate by Sydney and she showed us around our camp area. Our area was fenced in from the main road and had 2 portapotties to use. We had 6 kids with us so they LOVED the tour to see all the animals. Cassidy was our guide and she did an amazing job at it.

The repticular form was fantastic. We stayed in a great area a little off of the ranch which included a porta potty and a hand washing station. The staff was incredibly friendly and ensured that we had everything we needed. And all the animals were spectacular. 10 out of 10. I would recommend.

Camping at Reptacular was awesome. The spot was lovely right alongside a flowing stream and the tour with the animals in the morning was really special. Christina was a wonderful tour guide!

Camping with Camels!
This must be one of the most unique experiences out there. The campsite was clean and had a large fire pit with benches. There were several picnic tables and we had private portable bathrooms onsite. The most amazing feature of the campsite was the small heard of camels in an enclosure right next to it. Camping next to these wonderful animals is almost beyond words. Along with camping we were also given a private tour of the ranch. Christina, our guide, had an extensive knowledge of the animals and our two young children had all their questions answered. We were allowed to hold and interact with many of the animals including a Watusi Bull, and an Argentine Red Tegu Lizard. A few of the reviews do mention the fact that Reptacular Ranch also hosts Weddings. If you camp while there is a wedding happening, you will hear music from the wedding, the night we stayed it wrapped up by 10pm. The campsite is also situated between two small ranch roads, so you will hear and see vehicles coming and going to the ranch and wedding site. We found these to be minor issues in comparison to the opportunity to share a campsite with 7-10 camels, but it is worth mentioning. The ranch is located in the Angeles National Forest, so there are beautiful hikes located close to your campsite. Overall we had an incredible time. It was safe, clean and the staff was wonderful. I would highly recommend staying here. Especially if, like us, you have kids who love animals.

This was a really lovely experience for us. Our kids loved the animals and camping next to camels was pretty cool. It’s definitely a lot pricier than regular camping but getting up and close with the animals was pretty cool.

Cory - thank you for being so kind and so hospitable. We've let everyone know what a great time we had on your property. Thank you!

A must see location
I truly can’t say enough about how wonderful this place is. Cory and Jenn are absolutely amazing, the property is beautiful and I have never seen so many different animals taken care of so well. Jenn did our tour and shared her knowledge and history of each of their animals. We had a beautiful day, magical evening under the lights with my son playing guitar. We will definitely be back and refer it to as many people as we can. My friends are already asking how I got a picture in front of our RV with a camel (Aka Herbie)

Reptacular Animals Ranch
It was a fun stay and would recommend to visit for the animals only, but not as a camping experience. It is not private at all. It states there are private fire pits, but there is only 1 large pit that is shared. It lists 10 sites for up to 56 people each which seems ridiculous with 1 fire pit and the space size. We were the only party booked for the night and the host kindly let us know that another guest had booked the day before our trip which is fine, however upon arrival we were surprised that this group included 2 vans and 2 tents. Another group with an RV pulled up too. There are no designated sites. The other guests were very kind and respectful, but having a child running around it may have not been the experience they had hoped for either. The dogs that protect the animals barked all night long making it a sleepless night. There are bathrooms and water is available and it's very close to the city if you forget anything. There were a ton of bees, so make sure to bring something to keep bugs away especially while cooking. It is very expensive for a shared space, but goes towards the animals so I would recommend booking the animal tour separately. Host are very hospitable and the tour is great and very hand on.

Great quick getaway
Everything was lovely! Cory was great and gave us a wonderful animal tour. The property was beautiful and having the fancy portable bathrooms made it a an almost glamping experience. Great quick getaway since it’s so close to the City but you do feel like you’re in nature & away from all the noise even though I was 25 mins from home 😁

Beautiful venue
Beautiful venue, huge space. Campsite is originally a wedding Venue so it is a very pleasant area. Fairy lights etc. great bathrooms (automatic faucet). Gracious host, really cool animals (zebras, camels, alpacas, etc). It was brutally hot but that’s because I decided to camp late August in the middle of the heatwave. There’s quite a lot of very stubborn wasps so make sure you bring lots of different kinds of repellant, they are undeterred by spray. They clean bathrooms regularly.

Stars, Animals and Smiles
Reptacular Ranch Zoo was an amazing camping experience. We were able to set up our tent in a space with ample room, lighting and a semi-soft ground surrounded by nature and stars. Plus our private tour with the animals was such a blast - Jen has sooo much knowledge regarding the animals and was very generous with her knowledge and in guiding us through our hands on encounter with the animals. And Cory was very accommodate helping us figure out logistics. I am excited to one day return here with friends.

We were at the wedding venue site. The area was well kept and clean. Hosts are welcoming and are knowledgeable about the animals. One of a kind experience that is more than fun for the entire family. We were able to touch the animals and were close to them. I would definitely recommend this place if you want to try something different.

The ranch was great - nice and private. The only thing are the animals at night. The sheep dogs make a lot of noise but it’s expected as they are keeping the animals safe! Bring ear plugs and bundle up for the night.

Clean camping with safe wildlife
We found Reptacular animal ranch on hip camp after eight hours of driving through multiple campgrounds in Ojai with no first come first serve available. We were about to turn around and go home when at 3:30 we were able to book and arrive at 5 PM at their ranch. Directions were very precise and accurate, campsite was very clean for the six of us and since it also serves as a wedding venue at times there were some beautiful lights strung overhead with a massive campfire ring, very nice trailer bathrooms that are tastefully decorated, with a window looking out onto the Vineyard. Cory and his wife Jennifer lead us on a tour of the animals our second day there and they were extremely obliging and sweet to the children with us. Extremely gracious hosts and ranch hands. So knowledgeable. At night you could hear the animals which as an animal lover was a welcomed sound to me. Donkeys, a zebra, camels- the list goes on. You will hear them at night especially their great white Pyrenees dogs Kahlúa And Baco who are very vocal about keeping all of the animals safe at night from the coyotes and mountain lions. The canyon you are nestled in is beautiful. Oak trees for plenty of shade. Will definitely recommend.

Cory was a great host: easy to communicate with and a great guide. The camping area is in the wedding venue, so it’s more of a glamping experience with power outlets and fancy flush toilets. The site is huge and could host many guests. It features a nice big fire pit. The price for camping was too expensive. But the money goes towards supporting the animals and rebuild, which is great. We didn’t realize we would get an animal tour as part of our stay. This was awesome! Cory showed us all the animals. My favorites were the baby goats and the giant snakes! Understandably because of all the animals, it was a noisy morning, and we woke up many times. But I’d say it’s well worth it for the tour the next day. There are some nice little hikes from a trailhead just a 5 minute walk down the road. Overall, a fun, quick trip from LA. I’d recommend it!

Wonderful camping destination kids
The Reptacular Ranch is an amazing place, the animals are wonderful and the hosts are very attentive. Only comment: please be sure to check if there is a wedding taking place at the property when you are camping there. It can get quite loud pretty late at night. To Cory's credit, we had been warned about it in advance.

Reptacular Ranch was the perfect getaway! It's so amazing to be able to drive just a few miles out of the city and feel like you are completely "away". Cory was a very accommodating host and will make sure you have whatever you need! Our absolute favorite part of the trip was the petting zoo (of course)! There is a lovely petting zoo that has goats, sheep, alpaca and two of the most loving guard dogs you'll ever meet. We were sure to spend at least an hour hanging out with the animals. There are plenty more animals dispersed all over the property! We spent our night around the campfire between a pen of humungous tortoises and a pen of farm animals, if you're an animal lover you will be in heaven. Once it got dark we were able to enjoy peace and quite for the entire night (even the animals were practically silent). We really enjoyed our stay and we think any animal lover will too!
