Site 17 - Relax at Sweetwater Ranch Jamul
The site was nice, under a tree. Was able to to pull car right up to the campsite.

Site 1 - Relax at Sweetwater Ranch Jamul
If you are going to pull an all-nighter, keep your shinanigens away from campers. Maybe set a 10 pm quiet hour till 0600. I woke up at 4am listening to inconsiderate individuals laughing up a storm next to my tent. If you are into communal hippie stuff then this is for you. Mr. Miller is awesome, but guests should be considerate.

Relax at Sweetwater Ranch Jamul
Too primitive for me to be there.
We had an awful experience being there, no food or anything, the kitchen was dirty and unorganized. Too many restrictions when walking around. Didn't feel safe being there.

Relax at Sweetwater Ranch Jamul
Intimidating dogs everywhere
Unfortunately our stay was not as relaxing as we hoped although the space has a lot of potential. The main issue are the 10+ dogs that live on the ranch and are roaming free, day and night. We traveled with our puppy and a pack of dogs came charging at us very aggressively multiple times throughout the day so we always felt scared and a little bit on edge. In the night, the dogs would run around our campsite, pee all over and start barking so our sleep was disrupted more than once each night. And of course there is dog poop everywhere, literally, everywhere. The people on the ranch were friendly but didn't really try to prevent the dogs from charging at us or keeping them in a confined space. At this point, we can't recommend staying here and we wouldn't come back unless the dog issue is fully resolved and the poop cleaned up.
Relax at Sweetwater Ranch Jamul
The ranch is beautiful but I would not recommend staying here.
Pro:
-clean bathrooms and showers
-pretty scenery/nice trails
Con:
- I would not recommend staying here with kids. Our girls love dogs but it was not safe as dogs roam the property unsupervised.
-we were notified that there were dogs on the property but that they were harmless and wouldn’t bother anyone. This is far from the truth. They charged at my dog who was leashed. This happened within hours of us setting up camp and I was pretty shaken up as the dogs would not leave us alone unless someone from the property called them over. But the problem was that they kept coming back. There isn’t just one or two dogs but around a dozen of them running in packs throughout the property. They ate my dogs food and left my dog without anything to eat for the rest of the day. She has specialized food as she has kidney issues so I couldn’t just give her some food that I was eating. The dogs poop all over the property especially close to us to mark their territory. At 3:30am the dogs proceeded to start barking and waking everyone up. During this time they peed all over our tent and when my husband went to the bathroom to get some water to clean up they surrounded him and growled.
Overall the site is not what I expected. It took away the relaxing part of our weekend and we are exhausted having only slept 2 hours during the night because we had to make sure our items were not being peed or pooped on or eaten.

Relax at Sweetwater Ranch Jamul
This place is amazing! The people are friendly and chill, and there’s a good bit of exploring to do on the property. The only thing is that I would recommend bringing an older or cheaper tent. We brought one of our nicer backpacking tents, and it 1. Was completely overkill for how mild it is there and 2. Got peed on by dogs both mornings :-/ Besides that we had a great time. It’s a really wonderful and intentional space to relax and reset. Excited to go back!
