PLEASE READ: Hello all! If you're looking for some glamping with creature comforts, while just being 10 minutes away from restaurants. This is the place for you. We are a 5 acre property and home surrounded by tall redwood and oak trees. Very green and lots of shade. These are the amenities/facilities you will have free access to: Pool, Pool chairs and umbrellas, Deck area with sunset view, Trampolines, and hammocks. There is not cooking allowed by or at any of the common areas, due to flies and critters. Cooking and eating is only allowed by your sites and not in any common areas: Hammocks, Trampolines, Pool Area, tables, sink, and deck please follow this rule because we want to prevent our shared areas to be fly and bug infested. We are still working on ridding the flies and cleaning. (please try to bring prepackaged food or something easy. If anything you can drive 10 minutes to nearby food and grocery). In the past we let people cook and eat around the pool but now our whole property is fly infested and I find scattered leftovers on the ground. Thanks for understanding. THERE IS A 1-2 MINUTE HIKE TO THE CAMPSITES 1-5! Poolside campsites are closer to the parking and are bigger. CHECK OUT OUR NEW LODGING: This property is my home that I live in with my 2 kids. It is a rustic and homey vibe, definitely not a hotel. We want you to come knowing what to expect. Our property offers a pool, and trampolines for the kids. We have a deck patio area that overlooks an amazing view of the redwood forest. Most of our guests are those that come from foreign countries and they all LOVE the property. I love leaving a great impression of our area. CAMPGROUND GUIDELINES Pack out your trash. Rinse feet before using the pool. No pool toys or floaties. Always supervise kids. Don’t sit on chair edges or pool cover box. Use stumps or your own table for cooking (not ours). Keep the area clean—no food scraps on the ground. No dogs in the pool area; leashes and cleanup required. No eating in rooms or cabin. Check out on the deck. No smoking (vapes only, away from common areas). Propane grills only—no open flames or campfires. Thanks for helping us keep this place awesome!

Site 1 is private and has a great view of the sky and trees. Great for solo travelers! Fits a 3-4 person tent, maybe a little bigger. Has a nice view of the main house! A small wagon to bring some stuff is recommended. PLEASE NOTE: The site is a short 2 MINUTE WALK from the parking area. It is also a downhill (not steep). Given the walk, persons who suffer from disabilities or are elderly are not recommended to stay in this site.  RULES: Pack your trash. Rinse your feet before entering the pool. Site 3 is a 2 MINUTE HIKE FROM PARKING and can comfortably accommodate one large tent or two small tents on a mostly level area. Please note that the ground isn't very flat (we will be renovating it, so plan accordingly. The site offers a beautiful view of the surrounding redwoods. RULES: Pack your trash. Rinse your feet before entering the pool. No floaties and pool toys of any type allowed. Do not leave children unsupervised. Do not sit on the edge of the reclinable chairs. Do not sit along the edge of the pool or on the pool cover box. All tables are solely for drinking, cooking is only available on the stumps or on tables brought by the camper. Oak tree campsite has fresh, soft dirt for your tents! The site has 3 levels, the first level can fit a 4-5 person tent max to have enough space free space for other things. PLEASE NOTE: The site is a short 2 MINUTE WALK from the parking area. It is also a downhill (not steep). One of my favorite sites! Site 2 is spacious with nice fresh dirt to pitch your tent on! This site is a 2 MINUTE HIKE from the parking. A small wagon is recommended. RULES: Pack your trash. It is one of the furthest sites from the parking (3 MINUTE HIKE), but is private, cozy, secluded and quiet. 1 person is most comfortable here or a minimalist 2 person group. The Rustic Cabin has a queen sized bed as well as a loft above it for KIDS ONLY. It is equipped with a mini fridge and microwave. The restroom is SHARED between all campers on the property. There is just a very short walk to the pool. Amenities provided are as follows: Pool, hammocks, Trampoline (kids only), Zip Line, Deck and View Area, Pool chairs and umbrellas. Only lodgers at the Rustic Cabin have access to Wifi. Coffee in the morning as well!  Pack your trash. Rinse your feet before entering the pool. No floaties and pool toys of any type allowed. Do not leave children unsupervised. Do not sit on the edge of the reclinable chairs. Do not sit along the edge of the pool or on the pool cover box. Site 2 - Poolside Campsite
Ruth and Marshall were both great hosts! They were responsive to messages prior to arrival and were friendly and accommodating during our visit. When booking, I wondered if the pool would be visible from our campsite, but I was glad to find that it was very nice and private (a bit removed from the common areas and surrounded by trees). We loved the zipline and hammocks.

Beautiful site! Drive down is relaxing and the peace and quiet is something you can’t beat! There is an enjoyable common area with very nicely placed hammocks that allow you to observe the redwoods and enjoy what they offer! Would recommend this spot!

Site 1 - Redwood Paradise
What a lovely camp site! We were in the Redwood Paradise Campsite #1 (not by the pool) and it was amazing. Secluded and right in the lush redwoods. Definitely a bit of a hike from the car camping so wouldn’t recommend for anyone unable to trek their gear to their site, but it was worth it for the lovely spot. Ruth & Marshall were so welcoming and kind, serving delicious coffee every morning and Marshall played beautiful piano which was a nice touch. The pool is not heated but we didn’t mind it was a nice cold plunge at the end of a hot sweaty day. Shower and flushing toilet was nice to have; don’t expect anything extravagant but it was just fine for the weekend - much nicer than state park bathrooms/showers. Overall would 100% recommend and return!

Site 1 - Poolside Campsite.
We had a great time, and kids spend the time playing with the trampolines, hammocks and swimming pool. Sleeping surrounded by redwoods was great, and the morning starts with peruvian coffee fresh made. Although the description mentions "glamping" and it's priced as if it was, it's not really, and it's missing basic amenities. We understand as a family business these are not easy to provide in a secluded location, but also that the price should be fair to what it's provided. The sites could use a bit of care (no broken woods around) and leveling. The owners were constantly reminding rules (and there are many). For example the bathroom has 9 sheets of paper with instructions on how to use, but the doors don't lock and often there wasn't toilet paper. While you might find all this info scattered around the posting and rules, we left with the feeling we overpaid for this site.

Site 1 - Poolside Campsite.
This was the most awful experience I have ever had going anywhere. This was my first experience with Hipcamp and was looking forward to our camping trip. I was unnecessarily messaged and texted multiple times from the host about the rules and what to do and asking what time I will be there. I was busy driving up from San Diego to answer all of their texts and questions, especially since one of the rules is that you can't check-in past a certain time, I think it was 6pm. A check-in window of 3hrs. When my girlfriend (Sheri) and I finally met up and arrived at the Redwood, the gate was wide open (even though I was texted to make sure the gate stay closed), and there were no signs to guide us where to park. There are parking spots, but they're numbered, I don't just drive up to a place and park in numbered parking so I pulled up next to the house. The son, was nice enough until Sheri asked him if we could use the hot tub and sauna mentioning that she was at a place in Capitola that lets everyone use all the facilities. He kinda got disgruntled and physically pointed in the rules that I was reading, while also mumbling something. The son showed us where the toilet was but the door didn't have handles, there were large holes where door handles suppose to be. Anyone can walk by and look into the bathroom, that's not right. Also, the bathroom was very dirty and there were missing handles on the faucet sink. Sheri went to use the restroom and then told me to check it out and

We had an exceptional experience camping at Ruth’s place. From the rich aroma of morning Peruvian coffee to refreshing last-minute swims in the pristine pool, every detail was thoughtfully curated. Marshal’s eclectic and phenomenal piano repertoire was the perfect finishing touch to an already unforgettable stay. This is truly a special place, and we look forward to returning.

Site 3 - Redwood Paradise
Absolutely incredible. Beautiful, stunning site with massive gorgeous redwoods as soon as you come in. Very amenable and kind host who made us delicisious Peruvian coffee in the morning! Beautiful sunset and views from deck on house open to guests at campsite, and super nice to have a pool available. Quiet sites with no loud talking/drinking etc. Definitely recommend for families, couples, or friends seeking a quiet and peaceful getaway with amenities. Only note is that there were a bit more bees/flies than one might typically expect camping at our site, which were slightly annoying getting into food, but that's nature and can't really be helped! (and might be a site specific thing, probably) Really wasn't a big deal, just beware in case you have a bee allergy.

Ruth’s site was wonderful! She was very accommodating and generous. The campsite itself was beautifully nestled in a redwood grove. In the morning, we were treated to a piano being played and some of the best coffee I’ve had in a while. I’d definitely come back again!

We had such a wonderful experience staying here! A huge thank you to Ruth and her son for their generosity and the way they keep everything so well cared for—the campsites and the pool are always spotless. Ruth is incredibly hospitable and even makes coffee for the hosts every morning, which really shows how thoughtful she is. She was also so sweet and kind to my 3-year-old daughter, which made us feel even more welcome and at home. It’s rare to find a place where you feel both relaxed and taken care of, but this is definitely one of those spots. We loved it so much that I’m already planning to come back at the end of the month with friends to camp again. Thank you, Ruth, for making this such a special place!

Ruth and Marshall are amazing hosts! Very accommodating. They have created quite the camping experience that was perfect for my family. Great balance of being out in nature but having facilities and community activities nearby. The pool was pristine and such a relief for when it became hot in the afternoon. Daughter enjoyed the trampolines as well. We all took a nap on the hammocks. The live classical piano music with coffee on the deck was an unexpected but welcomed treat. We read and were prepared for the hike to campsite 5 with all of our belongings. It was made easier with a wagon we brought but they also provide a wheelbarrow. “Hiking in” is often a requirement to get into nature that we welcomed but there are closer campsites if you’re not up for that. The bugs are also a part of camping but we came prepared with spray etc. The stars at night were amazing and all the sounds of wildlife. One deer joined us briefly. Any store you need is just half an hour away for example when the camp stove I bought was defective and I needed to quick replace it. Overall we had the best time and hope to come back again!

Site 1 - Redwood Paradise
Myself and my Adult daughter stayed 2 nights , it was a Mom and daughter weekend. We had no difficulty finding the location. Having a shower, bathroom and pool was a plus especially during the unuasl heat we had over the Labor Day weekend. And it just a short drive to the beach and shopping. Im glad we packed very light because even though the walk to our site was not very long it is a bit up and down and having to make too many trips back and fourth to the car would have been exhausting. I would'nt recommend some sites for anyone with walking disabilities or balance issues. Keep that in mind. It is noted in the description as well. Everything was mostly as described and Ruth and her family are gracious hosts. They open their home to campers and its visible that they do enjoy their position. We very much enjoyed Marshall's piano talent and the amazing coffee in the am's. Thank you for having us. It was a very nice change of scenery.

Ruth's camp was located in the middle of the redwoods and was a joy to stay at. The pool was a great bonus and it was nice to have bathrooms and a shower.

Ruth was a wonderful hostess. Ruth and her son Marcus were very welcoming. Beautiful setting amazing redwood trees, lots of shade. The sun hits perfectly in the afternoon on the pool side. The pool was very refreshing clean. Jumped in the pool with Ruth:) We enjoyed a glass of wine & talked for a bit . The jacuzzi was also wonderful and hot . As the sun begins to set, you can see the sun glistening on the trees. Marcus plays the piano beautifully. I could hear him playing as I laid in the hammock outside. My cabin was very comfortable. Theirs a window by the bed and a window above where you can see the trees. I slept like a baby. Plan on returning next year with my daughter.🤍

Friendly host that worked with flexibility in my arrival time. Showed me the camp area’s invited me up to their deck for sunset as well as coffee in the morning. Lovely people. Fun slightly funky. Retreat pool trampolines. And lovely quiet in the redwoods.

Ruth’s place is incredible and the entire place is surrounded by trees, making it a great escape from the hustle of bustle of the city life. It’s also super close to local eateries and bars, the beach, and great hiking places.

Magical, healing, inspirational. I’ve stayed at over 200 campsites and Ruth’s Forest is definitely in the top 10. Would return in a heartbeat! My children loved our stay as well and are already asking to visit again! Both Ruth are her son were very kind and generous! Amazingly talented pianist too! Stay here!

Site 1 - Redwood Paradise
My 5 year old and I loved our camping night here! The pool was nice and clean and the trampolines were a hit with the little one. Ruth and her son were so sweet and made me coffee on their beautiful deck in the morning. Would recommend, especially if you're camping with kids!

Site 2 - Poolside Campsite
We had a great experience in Ruth and Marshall's land. They were thorough with all the details on check-in. Loved the coffee in the morning along with the soothing live piano. My son enjoyed the trampolines so much that we couldn't leave for a hike. Our site felt very private, easy access to the parking lot and the pool. Highly recommended!

Site 6 - Redwood Paradise
The campsite was very welcoming and family-friendly — perfect for camping with kids. We stayed for two nights and found many walking trails just 10 to 15 minutes away by car. I would definitely recommend this place to others. If you’d like to visit the beach, Highway 1 is also just a 15-minute drive away, making the location very convenient.

Site 1 - Poolside Campsite.
My kids had a blast. Pool and trampoline were both so much fun. Host was super helpful and made awesome Peruvian coffee!!

A gorgeous campsite among the redwoods in the Santa Cruz mountains. Ruth is super kind and helpful. And that pool was perfect to relax in after an epic hike.
