This was a beautiful spot. Our little one LOVED how close the horses were. There is a rooster that started at 4:45a. Berry bushes were fun for the little one to explore. GREAT CAMPING SITE. Did I mention the rooster ?? 4:45a ...early riser paradise. Would absolutely visit again

This was a beautiful and spacious camp site and the proximity to Mt. Madonna was convenient. The mixed feelings come from the fact that we never had any interaction with the host, virtual or in person. We weren't sure where the property boundaries were and where we could and couldn't go. Nothing went wrong but it felt strange. Also, there were dogs barking on and off all night and other animal noises, so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper! Finally, there was no toilet paper in the potty. Luckily we brought our own, but that seems like something that should be mentioned.
I would recommend that the host prints a laminated sheet with some information to secure somewhere on site if they are not able to communicate with guests.

Such a lovely spot! Fog made everything very wet but I actually really liked it. Trees are beautiful, awesome banana slugs, cute horses and dogs. Rooster was loud pretty early.

The redwoods and area in general was beautiful. It was right in Mount Madonna Park so there were a lot of good trails for hiking. There was a horse ranch next door but the horse noises and machinery weren’t bad in the nighttime, a little louder in the day. The site was private but we did notice a sweater in the trashcan that wasn’t ours, not sure where it came from. We were 7 people with 4 tents and the site fit us well. There was also a very cool teepee a very short walk from the site. Overall, we had a great time!

The redwood forest was a lovely place to camp. There was only one camp site on the property so we could let the kids explore with no fear. It was very beautiful. There was no water so we had to bring our own and the only toilet was a little porta-potty. But other than that, it was great. I highly recommend it.

Lauren’s spot is a great hideout in the redwoods. So peaceful with the birds, trees and neighboring horses. A short walk to some beautiful hiking.

The campsite was super cozy and decently private. We loved seeing all the animals! Unfortunately, the animals were a little loud at night, but with earplugs and white noise, it was fine. The outhouse could use an upgrade (there were spiders inside and had to crouch to get inside the tent), but this is to be expected. Would definitely recommend!

The site was great, a very peaceful spot surrounded by woods and neighboring a horse farm. Even saw a couple of deer and turkeys. It's very close to Mount Madonna Park, some of the trails are only a 10 minute walk from the campsite! Overall a great spot and would definitely recommend it

always enjoy coming here. this was a last minute booking, so i’m grateful to have been able to enjoy a nice evening with a warm fire, the horses behind were very cute to see this time, and i slept great for an early morning wake up. i got some eggs as well from the host. it was so kind to have them gifted. they were so very good!

The site was as described visually and did indeed have outside noise from the farm animals nearby— rooster at 5 am onward and horses 20 ft from site making occasional noises.
For some reason from 10:30pm-1am, there was a LOT of noise on the property— it sounded like materials being thrown around every few minutes and it went on for hours. It was LOUD. The noise was not from the neighboring farm, but the property belonging to the hipcamp.
We barely slept as a result and have no clue what the owners could’ve been doing so loudly so late at night….
Again, visually beautiful spot! But if you’re looking for a quality nights sleep, try somewhere else :(

Great spot. A bit small for the amount of people it’s listed for and could fit 3 cars or so and 5 tents. Small fire pit that could only seat 4 or so. I would say the bathroom needs an upgrade, even just a wooden outhouse built over the portable toilet. Great price for the stay.

Place is as described — good spot to pitch a few tents and have a fire. It was a bit loud from animals at night and in the morning, including a dog barking frequently and roosters crowing at dawn (which definitely has its charm!) The toilet is a simple bucket with a privacy / weatherproof tent over it.

This is such a cute spot! Tucked away and quiet, surrounded by trees and all kinds of horses. We car camped and it was so incredible to wake up to the fog in the trees.

really nice little spot close to mount madonna county park. it is a large site, but was a little smaller than i imagined. it is at the end of a bed in the road, but out of sight from the host and other neighbors with the redwoods all around. really quiet minus some horses and bird noises and dark barking. it won’t be fully quiet, so keep that in mind. the little toilet was clean and i had privacy with the zipper. cool little trail behind the site. the host was nice and grateful they allowed a last minute booking. i loved the fire pit how it was tucked to the side to add more space for tents or cars. i definitely will return.
