Great quiet camp spot
The camping spot was quiet and tranquil, unfortunately we couldn’t get the fire pit going due to the wet terrain, nonetheless, great camp spot if you’re looking for something quiet and secluded

Not a hipcamp, a cat experience
DO NOT STAY HERE unless you are obsessed with cats. If you think to yourself wow I wonder what it would be like to own a cat, by all means come stay here. Reading the other reviews about the cat that likes to hangout at the campsite, I thought, okay it will try to jump in the car and it will be lounging around the site. NO. We couldn’t even eat outside of our tent. The cat was jumping up on me and the table trying to get to the food in my hand. Anytime you try to shoo him away he starts to get aggressive and hisses. I finally message the host about how I can’t even eat and how the cat is starting to become aggressive. She replies that she’s not home and to shoo him with a stick. Like I hadn’t already been yelling, shooing, and physically picked it up and carried it away from our site. Frustrating, but whatever once we were done eating and just sitting by the fire it kept trying to get on my lap, even after pushing it away multiple times. Listen, the cat is mostly friendly so that’s fine but I shouldn’t have to deal with this. What really made me mad was that come morning time it was CLAWING at the tent to get in. It squeezed through our rain tarp and PUT ITS CLAWS THROUGH THE MESH LINING. When I messaged the host AGAIN telling her it’s trying to claw into the tent, her lazy response was to “splash some water on it, I dunno campers usually like the cat”. WHAT!? At 8AM I am having to get out of the tent to splash water on this cat to leave us alone?

Above and beyond
This was such a cool spot! It felt really special to be so high in the hills and also next to grazing horses. Lauren and the site went above and beyond when we forgot an essential, which we were immensely grateful for.

Beautiful forest stay
Thank you so much Lauren for an amazing stay at your camp site! We enjoyed the beautiful forest and hiking trails. Plus the orange cat was so loveable and friendly. What a wonderful place to relax and get away from the city. We hope to visit again soon.

Lauren had really clear instructions to get to the area, and like other reviews have said — it’s secluded like you’re in a forest but you’re right by the road! The farm fresh eggs were a real treat, she gave us a dozen when we paid for 6. She also got us firewood when we ran out! Love the fire ring and that they had several trash cans and a recycling for us to use. We found blackberries along the side of the road, so it was a nice find while taking a walk among the trails. Oyster the cat is very snuggly and purrs very loudly , but his claws are sharp if you he gets too comfortable and you try to get him off.

Quiet, flat site with a fire pit, table, chairs, composting toilet -- and a friendly cat that popped through every so often. We enjoyed our one night stay, and would definitely come back if we needed a halfway point between LA and SF. Thanks!

Camping in the Majestic Redwoods
You sleep right in the Redwoods. They are quite beautiful. It is a bit of a drive up there, but worth it. Remember to bring your own water.

Horses, turkeys, cats, and stars!
The space was beautiful and included a thoughtful table and chairs set. Horse and turkey noises delighted us, and the orange cat hung out for most of the night. Would highly recommend!

Site was exactly as described. Peaceful, secluded, close-ish to the house but it still felt very private. Little bucket potty in a tent worked perfectly - no smell whatsoever. Very short walk to many miles of trails in Mt. Madonna County Park. Would definitely stay again when coming this direction.

A great site nestled between big redwoods and the neighbor's horses. Oyster was very friendly and hung out with me all night. Bring your own firewood for the firepit! It was a great proximity for a solo female camper to feel both safe and alone.

It’s all about the cat!
Such a gorgeous site surrounded by towering redwoods, and right next to beautiful horses on the property next-door. As all the other reviews say, the highlight is really Oyster the cat. He sat in our laps, he swung with us in our hammocks, he joined us for every meal, and he even slept over in our van. It was like a summer romance with Oyster: true love that comes to an end all too fast. We’ll miss ya, buddy.

Camping crew: you + the cat!
Beautiful camping spot, quiet and secluded in walking distance to trails. It fits 8 people easily. You can see horses from the campsite and the orange cat comes to visit frequently. The cat itself deserves a 5 stars rating. I highly recommend this place.

Lauren’s spot was perfect for our one-nighter. The location is amazing and drive up to the mountains was beautiful and smooth. The campsite is 90% shaded and has some protection from wind. Everything was clean and as described. The horses next door, roosters in the distance and other casual animal passers-by made for a nice experience surrounded by redwoods. I would recommend this spot to friends traveling in groups of 5 or less for a nice intimate experience.

Wonderfully quiet spot, away from all road noise. Only thing you’ll hear are the birds, horses, chicken. No other campsites on the property! Definitely the escape we needed.

Lots of Space But Had to Attend to
Lots of space with beautiful trees surrounding us. Great fire pit and table and chairs. We had to watch out for dog poo as there was some around. I think we met the friendly fella. Orange kitty was very friendly, and we had to make sure to shut doors as the cat wanted in and to watch out to not leave any food unattended even for a minute.

The atmosphere was beautiful and you feel surrounded by the trees and nature which is great !! Horses make noise every now and then but it didn’t disturb us. The cat on the property is very nice however If your not into the cat being around/on your lap/ in your space bring a spray water bottle or something. Would stay here again /recommend it. You can also walk to some trails nearby.

We loved our stay at this site. Spacious campsite tucked in the trees, surrounded by animals galore. We loved befriending Oyster and saw lots of birds, turkeys, a banana slug, and of course the horses next door. Love that the site came with a fire pit and we enjoyed spending time by the fire (bring your own firewood). There is a pop up toilet which was useful also. During our trip we walked to plenty of gorgeous hiking trails and rode horses at the stables next door. The host was very welcoming and even gave us some fresh eggs from the chickens on site. Would recommend!

If you want a secluded and well maintained campsite immersed in the redwoods then this is the spot for you. This campsite was the perfect size for our car and small pull behind trailer. It was well equipped with a table, fire pit, toilet, and friendly animal neighbors. We arrived at night unsure of how the campground looked but were pleasantly surprised to see a beautiful forest of towering redwoods when we awoke. There was an orange cat that befriended us immediately. The nearby horses were a bit noisy at night, but no complaints other than that. Great spot overall!

Giant Turkeys and Friendly Cats!
We loved this site! The forest in this area is incredible! We went for a lovely hike in Mt Madonna Park down the road. Oyster the cat hung out with us the whole time, by far the most affectionate cat we've ever met. A giant turkey gobbled through our camp! 10/10!!!

Beautiful redwoods near trails
We loved the space, it was surrounded by Redwoods and felt private, we didn't see other people or cars. The trees were majestic. A curious pony came to the fence next to the site, but the animals didn't seem too loud to us. We were excited to meet the famous Oyster the cat, and eventually he came and lived up to his reputation. Wow, that cat knows what he wants! He gently nipped to get us to scratch just the right spot and then to move to the new just right spot. He spent time in our laps and kept us warm by the fire. We did a trail ride at the stables next door and really loved the experience. Would love to go back sometime!

Secluded campsite
This campsite was super secluded and so close (walking distance) to Mt. Madonna County Park, which had some great hiking. We were very happy overall with our experience and plan to camp here again. A few things to note- There's no water at all available, which made us very nervous tending the fire since the pit is built into the hill, and the tiny roots in the dirt caught fire a few times and had to be doused. Oyster the cat will try to jump in your lap/climb into your tent. If you don't want that, bring a spray bottle. We loved the sound of all the animals, but it can be loud with chickens, horses, turkeys, and dogs.

A beautiful, secluded spot surrounded by tall trees. The host was very welcoming, and we especially enjoyed waking up slowly to the cacophony of farm animals on the next property. Note that the cat will definitely want to hang out and linger, so be prepared.

My Family and I stayed for a couple of nights. With the horses as close neighbors, the beautiful redwood trees and lots of other magnificent wildlife, it made this trip seem miles away when we were actually close to home. Definitely a gem in the forest!
