The showers were very nice as others mentioned, but the campground is rather disorganized and not very private. Would have preferred labeled sites with dedicated drive up parking.
We tried twice to enjoy a glass of wine, but nobody was working the desk both times, so we gave up. We also were told to call a number upon arrival, but the call went straight to voicemail with a mailbox that was full.
There is also a VERY opinionated donkey that lives right near the site and will wake you up if you are a light sleeper...
Overall, if you just want a hot shower and cheap stay, this is a good choice. Not for us, though

Top Notch Camping Amongst the Vines

A wonderful camping experience with two other couples and our three dogs. The sites are very spacious, with great tree coverage to provide some much needed shade from the summer sun. The facilities were top notch - clean toilets and hot showers! Francis greeted us on arrival and he made us very welcome over some wine tasting - the wines were super - we especially liked the Baby Doll rose and The Stray cab (we returned every day for more!). We also enjoyed playing Bocce amongst the vines! We had the added benefit of being there for one of Francis’ summer concert series where we enjoyed drinking more wine and dancing the night away to California Creedence. A fantastic long weekend and we’re already planning a return visit in the Fall. Thank you Francis and the Prospect 772 team.

Spacious Winery Camping
Great place to camp. Francis has everything amazingly set up. Bathrooms are the best ones we found on our 14 day road trip around the national parks, including public and private campgrounds. The spots are good and it is a quiet place at night, since the small road next to the ranch barely has any traffic at all. Francis was kind and helpful and there if we needed something.

We only stayed one night but it was pretty and quiet. Winery looks nice but we didn’t have time to go in. The spot is directly behind the winery.

We absolutely loved this campsite. Francis was so accommodating and welcoming! We stayed for two nights on a little getaway with our Australian shepherd and we had a blast. There are lots of flat areas to set up camp, and the bathrooms/showers were extremely clean and well kept. We popped into the winery twice for a glass of wine and the wine was also amazing — we left with a few bottles! The wildlife was also so close by. We saw deer, cows, jackrabbits and all sorts of birds. We can’t wait to come back for another season to experience it then.

Friendly folks, camped under some shady oaks and enjoyed a wine tasting. Lots of cute dogs. Bathrooms were indeed as clean as the reviews indicate.

we stayed for 2 nights with our dogs and really enjoyed it! the vibe was super chill! great spot for couples looking to unwind. the bathrooms were a pleasure to use: super clean and always stocked with TP and hand soap (seriously appreciated that!).
only heads-up is there were quite a few dried burr weeds that got stuck in our dogs’ fur, which was a bit of a pain to deal with. 🥲
but overall, awesome stay—thanks so much for having us! ♥️

Especially beautiful, peaceful and safe, and impressively accommodating property and campsites. Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Shade trees were especially welcomed during hot July weather. Well kept and clean. I’ll go back again and again.

I couldn't ask for more! My husband and I had an incredible experience at the winery during our birthday week! We stayed for 9 days! It's super quiet, spacious, and the staff is so helpful and friendly! Francis, Amy, and Cindy were super attentive and helpful. Wine tasting from Thursday to Sunday makes a total difference. We loved to try their unique wine, and, of course, we had to buy a bottle to celebrate our birthdays! Being able to camp and have a hot shower right there at any time for us was awesome! We loved to watch the wild turkeys around, and it was great to see the vineyard up close. We highly recommend this place if you wanna bring your tent or even your RV. We had awesome neighbors in their RVs, too, who enriched our experience even more. The stay was better than the crowded parks during the summer! They have land to accommodate us comfortably!
I also have to mention how central the location is. The Calaveras Big Trees State Park is just 40 minutes from the winery, with the big sequoias to admire, stunning views of the forest, and a river to swim. Also, you can learn a little bit about the history of the gold rush in California at the small towns of Calaveras County, all within a couple of miles of the vineyard. We also visit Yosemite and Lake Tahoe. A little bit farther, but also possible to access it if you have more time in the region! Amazing trails, for hiking or mountain biking, with lakes of easy access too. Oh! We paddleboard too! You won't regret it!

We had an amazing 3-day, 2-night stay.
The bathrooms and showers were spotless, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier.
The campground was clean and peaceful — perfect for relaxing.
There’s also a small town nearby, which made it super convenient to grab food and other essentials.
We’d definitely love to come back again.

I loved tent camping in Francis’s land. Beautiful view of the vineyards. Also, we loved the wine tasting and good wine. Cindy was very helpful. Clean bathrooms. We’re going back with friends.

My opinion, we had the best camp spot. Behind the main building a romantic, shaded, flat, beautiful spot for smaller vehicles. After scouting our spot and setting up we decided to do a little wine tasting. Amy and Cindy were great conversationalists. We had a great time and added some Prospect 772 to our wine collection. Took a little loop hike around the property, which has a bocci court as well. The bathrooms are a really nice bougie touch, making camping feel like glamping. The place was quiet even with several campsites occupied. We really enjoyed our visit and would book again. Thank you Francis for sharing your property and being super responsive.

It was beautiful! Feeling of s serenity...except waking us with the turkeys outside our camper...which was delightful. Amy was with our tasting. She was welcoming and friendly.
The shower was terrific!
I hope we have another occasion to stay.

Small but quaint winery with a great host! From wine-tasting to the short hikes and of course, camping - Prospect 772 is quite the perfect weekend getaway! Their restrooms and bathrooms were super CLEAN which was a bonus. 😬
Francis (the owner) and his staff were very attentive and accommodating. As a matter of fact, we are already planning our return trip!

Had a great stay and the weather couldn't have been better. We setup camp near the tree line across from the winery, had lunch, and stopped by for a wine tasting. The property was quiet and Francis was a great host. Will definitely come back again.

Very relaxed atmosphere and settings. The owner, Francis, and his staff were very friendly and accommodating. Although this is not your typical campground setup, where the spots are numbered, we got to picked our spot without any problems.
After settling in on our spot, we made lunch before heading over for some wine-tasting. We got to sample some great local wines including their own, of course! And, don’t forget to grab yourself a bottle (or two) as a way of supporting local businesses and/or wineries.
Wine-tasting was followed by a short hike that loops around their beautiful property before making our way back to our spot. Cooked dinner and hung out thereafter before calling in the night around 10p.
Last, but not least, the restrooms were super clean and the shower at the main building was so inviting!
Can’t wait for our next visit as we have THE SPOT all picked-out already! THANK YOU FOR A SHORT BUT PLEASANT VISIT.!!!

Francis was an amazing host. We were there to celebrate our anniversary during the Valentine's Day weekend. The site is super nice, has multiple bathrooms and plenty of space to pitch a tent or park an RV - they even have cabins. There were plenty of picnic tables for us to setup for dinner and breakfast. We had plenty of space to setup the portable stove we brought. We also enjoyed a tasting and their v-day charcuterie before we pitched our tent. I loved listening to the frogs at night and the site was incredibly dog friendly. We had an wonderful time and could absolutely imagine getting married here. Even if you aren't a Hip Camper, I highly recommend visiting this winery on a free weekend. Francis, the staff and the locals visiting made us feel incredibly welcomed during our stay. Thank you, Francis! We are looking forward to visiting again.

Nice big flat areas for camping. There's a nearby bathroom that also has a shower. 11 minutes away from grocery stores, gas, and food options. I'd visit this hipcamp again.

We loved camping at Prospect 772 Winery. The views and setting are incredible. We had a spacious level gravel spot to park our RV. The bathrooms and showers provided are very nice and well maintained. Francis and his staff were so friendly and gave us great ideas about what we could do and where to eat in the area. They have nice tasting room and the wine is amazing. We look forward to returning in the near future!
