Beautiful ocean-view property all to yourself, just one street up from Highway 1. There's an ocean view and plenty of trees. This stunning spot has a clearing large enough for three tents, two vans, or one small trailer. I love falling asleep here to the sound of the ocean, the rain, or the wind in the trees. There are even a few redwoods on the property, with more on the adjacent property (though there are no paths or flat areas for walking). Enjoy your morning coffee in the fresh air, or relax with a drink while watching the sun set over the ocean. I bought this gorgeous spot to enjoy these simple pleasures, and I look forward to sharing it with you! This property is in Gualala, in the "banana belt" of Highway 1. There are no guarantees because it's the Pacific, but this area is often where the fog burns off first and rolls in last. Cook's dog-friendly beach is about a 15-minute walk away, and the delicious food and drinks at Saint Orres are also about a 15-minute walk from the property.* It's a 5-minute drive to town for groceries, restaurants, and a pretty great bookstore. The driveway is steep and won't accommodate a large trailer. Trailers should have high-profile tires. If you're wondering whether your trailer will fit, send me a photo, and I'll let you know. I've had no issues with a low-profile car, and no one has ever had a problem with a van. There is one fairly narrow section, so trailers longer than 22 feet won't work. Because this property is in a residential area, you'll need to pack out everything. No digging a hole, sorry. Wag bags, buckets, or your own blackwater containment system are required. Doing otherwise could put my property at risk, so please don't be that person. Wildlife! Ravens, turkeys, deer—oh my! And yes, there are also occasional black bear and cougar sightings. I've never had an issue, but it's important to be aware of your surroundings. *If I'm in town, I'll show you how to use the easement for a shortcut to Cook's Beach. This site is a piece of undeveloped property in a small subdivision of large lots (about half of the lots are undeveloped), just above Cook's beach. There is walking access to Cooks beach, which is beautiful. I was there on a busy weeekend in the summer with beautiful weather and I only saw 2 other couples on the beach during the several hours I was there. The property is hidden away in the trees. There is a small camper parked there but where I set up my tent was out of view of the camper and also the road. I slept like a log in my tent listening to the hypnotic sounds and scents of the waves below. My two dogs enjoyed the cool temperatures of the coast and also the opportunity to be off leash at the site. The site itself has an unobstructed view of the sea. It was very quiet and peaceful and I really enjoyed my respite from reality. The host was friendly but not intrusive and very responsive to my inquiries.

A very nice property with a beautiful ocean view in the trees, which felt safe and came in handy as an available place to stay at the end of a long 2 week trip up and down the west coast during the very crowded summer tourist season. Marisa was straightforward in her expectations and gave clear directions for opening the lock to enter the gate.

Wanted to take a camping trip and came across this beautiful spot. The place has lots of space for children to run around and explore safely, it was my son’s favorite part of the trip. The campsite allows for you to watch the sunset, while having a view of the ocean. I would highly recommend staying here, it was so peaceful and private enough for us to feel safe “car camping”. Marisa was a great host and was very fast with responses. I will definitely be coming back, such a fun experience!!

My friends and I needed a very last minute campsite and Marisa was the first campsite we came across. She was so quick to respond and gave clear instructions in how to get to the spot and how to let ourselves in/out. It's in a nice quiet neighborhood and there is Cooks beach that is about a 15 minute walk from the site but very easy to access. Only 4 minutes away from the town which was great. We absolutely loved listening to the waves while we fell asleep. Campsite was clean and we felt 10000% safe

Solo camping w Zuri -Amazing Time!

This site is simply gorgeous and peaceful, you can hear and the waves crashing from your campsite. The site looks like exactly what is advertised. Directions were easy for entry. Marisa’s, recommendations were great for me and my pup Zuri. This is one of my new favorite spots.

Marisa’s campsite was easy to find and very exciting to drive up to! It is very private and has a beautiful view. We had a great night set up looking over to the ocean and enjoyed how dark and quiet it was at night. Great spot to wake up, and we were even lucky to be able to watch a bald eagle soar around the trees right above us for quite some time! Even though she was not on the premise, Marisa was extremely responsive and helpful. :)

The view and location of the sire are unbelievable. We loved spending the night here. No water, bathrooms or trash available but we didn’t mind. Marisa was very cool and laid back. Highly recommend this spot if you just need a place to pitch a tent for the night in Gualala!
