Porterfield Travel Trailers is Northern California’s newest camping experience. Situated at Montauk in rural western El Dorado County, the property overlooks gorgeous Folsom Lake. Conveniently, Montauk is located between Interstates 50 and 80, with close proximity to rafting, wineries, mountain biking and hiking trails. You have a choice of trailers with separate bedrooms equipped with different bed configurations. Please see individual listing for detail. Although you are in a stationary travel trailer, you are still camping... please keep that in mind 😉 Prior to booking your stay, please note our campsite is private, remote, and completely off-grid. Because of that, everything runs on battery and propane. Although the trailers are equipped with TV, electrical outlets and a microwave, those are inoperative due to the lack of electricity. The refrigerator, stove and oven run on propane and are available. There is NO air-conditioning. You will need to supply your own water for drinking and cooking, since the water is not potable. Also, water usage needs to be limited/reserved because the trailers use water holding tanks. You need to supply your own bedding and towels - or you can rent from us with advance notice. ($30.00). Also, note that our main access road, Montauk Vista, is dirt, however, car accessible. I love this place. My second time there. Swimming in the lake with my dog is my happy place. Chris is a great host too. Look forward to coming back soon

Awesome location and accommodations

Loved the location. My buddy and I biked from Folsom Point to Montauk on mostly single track trails. Chris provided much needed drinking water since we couldn’t bring it ourselves. The shower was awesome, the beds were comfortable and even got to do a little fishing in the morning. Will do this again, and again. Highly recommend the route for cyclists!
