Perfect place to escape the noise

We loved our mini trip up in the hills away from all the noise. If you are looking for a nice relaxing stay this is the place to go. Well kept/pruned property with stunning views of the foresty hillsides. The property host Ernie was very nice as well & informed us of all the cool places locally to check out. *At&t signal is hit or miss but you can walk around to get a call or text out if needed!*

What a beautiful property! Super well maintained, provided everything for a perfect stay. We were wine tasting in Amador County, I have a couple wine clubs there. This property it’s about 20-25 minutes. From the wineries. We were the only camper that night, which always makes it nicer. But there was sufficient space for several other campers in a really nice communal area. I’m sure we would’ve made new friends. You have to bring your own water, no flush toilet but if you’re OK with those things like I am, it’s a great spot. The tint spot is on a flat part of the hill that gives you almost a 360° view you can see the lights of Sacramento in the evening and watch the sunrise. I plan on going back.

This was such a perfect, peaceful site! Ernie greeted us when we arrived and answered all questions. Great views and great location. We were able to check out Indian Grinding Rock State Park, and all the little towns around there! We will definitely be back there!!

We loved the spot, very open and expansive, nice and flat with nice views off in the distance at night. Remote spot, could need a four wheel drive vehicle to get a trailer to that site during the wet months. We visited early April.

This campsite is amazing! The views are beautiful, and it's the perfect space for a tent. There's a composting toilet with a view, a picnic table, and even some games. It's an incredible place to go and feel like you're far away from everything, and the sunsets are gorgeous! I highly recommend staying here.

We met Ernie and we liked his sites on the Ranch he owns. We don’t have 4 wheel drive which is “recommended”. So we struggled to get to Site 3., but finally made it.

First, unless you have a self-contained rig with A/C, I would not recommend camping here in the heat of the summer since there is little to no shade. That said, we really enjoyed our stay. We do not have a self-contained rig and it was HOT, but the site was clean, level and had water and electricity. We used the electricity for our fridge and had running water for our tank. Our camper does not have a toilet, so we cart our own... thank goodness. The host does have a "pit toilet" on site, but there is no door and it is in the direct sun; the view, however, is amazing. Ernie, the host, was welcoming and loaned us a 50 to 30 amp converter, which we greatly appreciated. The site is very quiet, beautiful sunsets, and lots of wild turkeys. Roads to get to the property can be narrow, steep and winding, but very light traffic. Wineries are nearby and we appreciated that. We will visit again when the temperatures are cooler. Peaceful & remote in gold country

Ernie's place is a gem. It's remote and feels that way, the views are incredibly peaceful, and the land around the RV spot is plentiful and flat, making it easy to set up and leaving lots of space for kids and dogs to play. We had an incredibly relaxing time with our friends for Memorial day weekend. Ernie was helpful every time we asked a question, directing us to local swimming holes, etc. I can't wait to see what Ernie does with the place.

Really great campsites with gorgeous view. The sites are flat and open. There is a communal fire ring and wood provided. We really enjoyed our stay. Be warned - there is a steep driveway that leads up to the campsites. It’s very doable, but might be a bit unnerving for some.

Ernie greeted us immediately and guided us to our camp site. He definitely is committed to providing quality camping opportunities and his attention to detail is apparent and appreciated. The sites are comfortable, spaced for privacy but close enough for socializing if desired, and all had an incredible view. This was a great experience!

Ernies little Gem 💎

Second time coming to Ernies and definitely plan on coming back. It is so quiet and relaxing and the view is beautiful. Ernie is great on communication and so helpful. We have dogs that also love it here they can sunbathe and explore freely. The location is close to many wineries and restaurants if you are wanting to explore but with having full hook ups we just took a day or so to relax at the trailer. Ernie's little gem will not disappoint. Thank you again Ernie ❤️

Idyllic Trailer Camping

We had the pleasure of staying at Ernie’s campsite and were so happy with our experience. His directions were easy to follow, the hookups were easily accessible and the site itself was sublime. We visited off season, so had the area to ourselves (save the wild turkeys), and it was one of the most peaceful weekends we’ve shared in some time. Ernie was a great host and I’m so glad we happened upon his listing!

The best place we’ve stayed yet! We happened to be the only campers there during our stay, so had the whole place to ourselves. Beautiful open site with gorgeous views! He had a table, chairs, umbrella, and rug for us to use as well. Full hook-ups (sewer, water, power) made it that much nicer. We’ll definitely be back!

We stayed in site #3 at the top of the hill with a 26Ft trailer. Very quiet and peaceful while we were there (no tent campers), but the tent sites are on an open knoll next to the RV site and multiple campers would have very little privacy. Good for group camping, star gazing, sunsets, relaxation (if you have it to yourself). You’ll be about 30 minutes from Sutter Creek and Plymouth on narrow mountain roads with some one lane sections. Entering from the Sutter Creek side is the best route with an RV.

Warm welcome from Ernie as we got to his property showed us how to get up to the site 3 and helped us out by lending us a 50 to 30 as we didn't have one. I can not say enough great things about our stay, the full hook ups, the clean flat site, the peace and quiet, the beautiful views the ease of getting to several destinations around like Sutter Creek, Jackson, Fiddleton, Placerville, Somerset, and Apple hill. Our dogs came with us, Ernie made us all feel welcome, great communication, I feel like we have made a new friend. Hale Rd is beautiful it does have some single lane spots depending on which way you are coming in but well worth it loved seeing the deer, turkey and cute little squirrels. We were sad to leave this was our first getaway that we weren't ready to leave so we will definitely be back, Thank you Ernie for sharing your little gem with us can't wait to see you again. Definitely can't go wrong by staying here.

My husband and I stayed at site 1 with our two dogs for 3 nights. It was the perfect spot for us with full hook ups for our trailer. Our trailer is 18ft and easily fit in the spot. It was very relaxing and quiet with great views. The host Ernie was very nice and made some great recommendations of things to do in the area during the day. If you’re looking for a quiet spot to relax in nature and see the stars at night, then I definitely recommend Palala Ranch.

Camping with a View

We throughouly enjoyed this campsite. Site was level, peaceful and private with full hookups. We were able to hear birds chirping and catch a couple deer walking by. While the road on the property has a slight incline to get to the campsite we stayed at, we had no issues maneuvering our 25' trailer towed with an F250. The sunsets were spectacular. Ernie is a wonderful host, accessible if needed and we cant wait to return again in the future and see how the place has evolved, although it doesn't need anything.

Wonderful and relaxing

We had an amazing stay here for three nights. We stayed in our 21' travel trailer on the upper site. Full hook-up and the site was very level. Ernie has a placed a large sun umbrella, table, chairs and an outdoor rug for guests' use. Felt more like a private resort than camping. The view is amazing and the sunset is to die for too. Ernie was there to help us get settled and hook up, which was much appreciated. We enjoyed a meal together which was a treat because we got to hear about the area and Ernie's future plans. It was so relaxing, we spent one full day just sitting, reading and enjoying the surroundings. We may have also had an adult beverage as we watched the sun set. An unexpected treat was the (very) little town of Volcano which is nearby. If you have a chance, spend an afternoon there. There is a little art studio that features local artists - a different one each month. You can pick up a short walking tour map at either the coffee shop or the general store/diner. The pastries at the coffee shop and made freshly each day by the owner. You can also take advantage of a small park across the street for a picnic. We are looking forward to going back for sure!!!

Can’t Wait to Visit Again!

We stopped here for four nights to break up a trip from Yosemite to Lassen and are so happy we picked Ernie’s property. We are a 36’ fifth wheel and did make it to the top site, but were definitely a little nervous going up so just keep that in mind. Ernie greeted us on arrival and made sure we had everything we needed to get set up. The sites are full hookup with 50amp electric. The view was breathtaking and the sunsets were amazing. We saw deer, a rabbit, and bats. Such a peaceful environment. Ernie has a lot of plans for the property and it was fun to learn what he has in store. We were also surprised at how many places there are to visit within 30 min. We went to Grinding Rock State Park, Black Chasm Cavern, Tasted some wine, checked out Amador brewery, and went to the farmers market in Sutter Creek on a Saturday. Our only regret was not staying longer to continue to explore. One thing to note, there are two ways to get to the property and one is definitely better than the other so make sure you ask about the route. There is a mile stretch of narrow road and a few lower branches before you get to Ernie’s driveway, but if you take it slow it will be fine. Our RV is 12’-6” tall and skimmed a few, but like I said, just be aware and take it slow. Overall a great experience and we would love to visit again!

Great property to become a regular

Ernie's property was amazing. The sunset was one of the best I have seen. The property is definitely in the building stage but with full hookups and open forest there was plenty for my family and I to do. The property is twenty minutes from many attractions in Jackson, Sutter or Plymouth. Kirkwood is only a 80 minutes away. Give Ernie's a chance you won't be disappointed.
