Clean the pond. It was very disappointing to see its dry and dirty. I was so excited and we got there and the pond is dirty and it was hot. I’m glad my daughter brought a small pool and we sat in it for a bit but we almost were going to leave . You can’t even put the kayaks in the pond. The dogs were too much sniffing and getting on everything and jumping on top of my 7 year old granddaughter peeping on the tent and just too much. I was not happy at all and would not go back.
Overall, we had a nice experience. The property was very clean, and we enjoyed the privacy of being the only guests there. The children enjoyed the pond and kayaking. The bugs ruined it for me, bring bug spray:) The bathroom and outdoor shower were a plus!
While we appreciated the warning about the two farm dogs, and found them to be very friendly, we did not anticipate them being a constant part of our experience. Unfortunately, the larger dog urinated on our tent and other personal items at least three times during our stay.
Additionally, on our last day, the cattle were released without warning, which felt a bit unsafe as they could have run us over, though thankfully the dogs managed to handle the situation.
We appreciate your hospitality, but for our next trip, we have decided to try a different environment in the forest.

It was fun especially if you want to just get out for the day. Dogs were probably the best part, they will get you dirty by rubbing against you but I didn’t mind. Tent was very clean as well as the restrooms.

We had a wonderful overnight stay in the glamping tent. My partner and I took the Amtrak down from the Bay Area for a little getaway and study trip, and this farm was exactly what we needed. It was about a 30-minute Lyft ride from the train station. The host was responsive, reasonable, and even checked in to make sure we'd be able to get a ride back. We scheduled one ahead of time, and everything went smoothly.
The glamping tent was spacious, thoughtfully set up, and very comfortable. We slept so well that we naturally woke up at 4:00 a.m. feeling completely rested and spent the quiet morning doing yoga and meditating before the farm came to life.
We made the most of the property—paddling around the lake on the kayaks and stand-up paddleboard, relaxing on the swings on the dock, and even lighting a morning fire to watch the sunrise. The friendly guard dogs (who take their jobs seriously!), the duck, goats, turkeys, and peacocks gave the farm character.
If you're looking for a peaceful place to unplug and reconnect with nature, we'd recommend staying here.

Beautiful property! Perfect for families. My kids had the best time. The dogs are super friendly, the cows were so cute. The pond and playground were the best. They have swings that you could swung off into the pond. They had fans going under a covered picnic area and a BBQ grill. Kayaks, bathrooms everything you could possibly need! Meredith was so super kind and gifted us bacon from the farm which was so yummy!! Bring bug spray and get ready for an Amazing peaceful time on the farm!!

Meredith’s land was nice and relaxing. The sunsets each night were beautiful. We enjoyed paddle boarding in the pond and swimming. Our favorite was the English bull dog. She napped with us during the day and guarded our tent at night.
Finding this gem so close to home was a weekend getaway dream. The water was essential in the heat, the swings were charming and the stand-up paddle boards were so fun. It was a quiet farm, and the dogs and duck hung out with us the entire time. We got the glamping tent and the bed was comfortable and a clean set-up. Bathroom and shower were great too.
Here are the only cons: the dogs can be a bit much, so if you are not a dog lover, maybe look elsewhere. Also, at night, many cockroaches came out (mid June) so you must be ok with bugs, and lastly, the pond fountain stayed on all night, so bring ear plugs because it is very loud!
The place is very peaceful, beautiful and FULL of character. Regardless of where you're coming from, when you end up here you'll notice the peace of the environment and how easy it is to settle into it. While my boyfriend and I were there we played with the two dogs living on the site- they get familiar with you fast if you welcome it, which we did, and it was very heartwarming- so be prepared for them (they are very sweet dogs). Back to the property lol, I honestly loved how pretty and peaceful it is, I was reminded of living on the countryside with little frogs and occasional bunny. It's really very peaceful and theres so many little habitats to witness. Theres a pond to swim in, a shower to clean yourself clean in and a toilet to handle everything else lol- Pretty much, what else do you need? If you're in a pinch there are a few spots close to the site and places to DoorDash from to get basic supplies as well as food- theres a Mexican restaurant that has super good fish tacos (shoutout Mariscos Las Islitas). My one recommendation is to bring water and something warm since thirst can sneak up on you and the nights are cold- especially if you swim in the pond like we did. Other than that, it's a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy the company of your loved ones. SO give it a try, I think you'll be glad you did :)
I loved camping here. It was perfect since it was our first time. Having a shower and bathroom amenities was great for my daughter. The place is beautiful! Perfect way to just spend time with family. Instructions were clear and easy to find our camping spot. The dogs are super friendly! Slept and guarded our tent. We can't wait to do it again.
It was a perfect stay for what we were looking for. The pond was great for swimming, floating, fishing and general playing. The grass area was lovely and we enjoyed watching other campers’ little kids run and play around on it.
The glamping tent was wonderful and had everything we needed. Would definitely return.

Our family of 4 and our friends with 2 little kiddos had a wonderful time. It was great to see farm animals, kids enjoyed playing in the pond, paddle boarding and enough grass area to kick balls. There was perfect tree on site #6 where I hung my hammock which was wonderful. The bathroom was clean and the area for washing your dishes was nice and big.
I would highly recommend!

Everything is well taken care of you can feel the love thats been put into the property and animals.. Meredith hospitality was great the dogs are super sweet i went with my 4yr daughter on a solo camping and she made 2 new bestfrienda! Caught and released plenty of fish!
Staying on Merediths farm was a wonderful experience. The provided amenities were excellent and the campsites were well maintained. We were greeted by the two dogs when we arrived who were both very sweet and protective. There are farm animals on the property that you can feed from the provided feeders. Before leaving we were able to spend some time near the pond and kayak on the water. I would highly recommend this place and would be happy to stay again if we get the opportunity!

El lugar es hermoso, muy bien cuidado y con una vista increíble. Los atardeceres son impresionantes, y en la noche la combinación de las estrellas con las luces de la ciudad crea un ambiente perfecto y súper relajante. Definitivamente un lugar al que volveríamos.

Such a beautiful and peaceful Hipcamp spot! I loved swimming in the lake, waking up right by the water, and hearing the cows and bullfrogs at night. The friendly farm dogs were the best touch. This wasn’t my first stay and definitely won’t be my last, can’t wait to come back!
This campsite was an absolute gem and easily one of the best outdoor experiences I’ve had. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt calm and welcoming—perfect for unplugging and truly relaxing. The grounds were beautifully maintained, and everything felt safe, organized, and thoughtfully laid out.
It’s clear the staff takes pride in keeping the amenities in top shape.
There was no shortage of things to do, either kayaking, fishing, open space for games, or just sitting around the campfire, there was something for everyone. It struck a perfect balance between activity and relaxation—you could stay busy all day or simply unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

I loved camping on Meredith’s land. The sites were very clean and the campground was very quiet. Loved it. Would recommend it.
There were no surprises. The host explained everything upfront so I knew exactly what to expect. There was excellent communication. The day areas and the site as a whole were well kept. I enjoyed my stay and I intend to book again some time in the future.
We had an absolutely amazing camping trip at Autonomy Farms (Bakersfield Farm Animals & Pond)! From the moment we arrived, you could tell the campground is well cared for—clean, organized, and full of shaded areas that made it comfortable all day long.
The pond is truly the highlight—beautiful, relaxing, and so much fun. Having free paddle boards and kayaks available took the experience to another level. Sitting by the water and listening to the fountain in the middle of the pond was incredibly peaceful—exactly what you want on a getaway.
The farm atmosphere made it even more special. Being able to hear the animals and show them to the kids absolutely made their day. And Cleo, the working farm dog, completely stole our hearts! She brought so much joy, love, and honestly made us feel safe too—patrolling the grounds all night better than any security guard you could imagine.
Some of our friends stayed in the Airbnb on the property, and it was the perfect cozy farmhouse-style cottage—comfortable, charming, and a great option if you want a mix of camping and indoor comfort.

Beautiful spot me and my wife enjoyed it and one night we had it all to ourselves selfs the pond is amazing and the dogs are super friendly made the trip 100% better thank you for having us on your property!
Overall experience was good. Campsite and facilities were reasonably clean. Had a hard time finding the map when entering the facility so it was took a second to find the bathroom and shower in the dark. Host also wasn’t super responsive when we asked questions.

I loved my camp spot and the bathroom facilities and the quiet. The morning was magical with all the singing of the birds and the sound of the fountain.
Beautiful location and the sites were spaced with a lot of room between them. Has it's own wildlife - I had 3 owls hooting above me overnight. Would love to stay again!

My boys and I had a great time at this camp site. It felt safe and it was well maintained. The dogs were very sweet. My boys were asking when we can come back before we even left
Family friendly campground. Our kids loved the animals and the playground area. We stayed for one night and enjoyed our time.
Loved our stay here. My two boys (4 and 3) had a blast visiting the animals and kayaking on the pond. Campground was beautiful with everything you’d expect from nice looking toilet and outdoor shower to fire pit, picnic table etc. lots of shade from the beautiful trees.
