Wake up to the sweet sounds of birdsong and a running creek in the midst of a unique old-growth forest of madrones, black oaks and incense cedars that soar hundreds of feet high into the sky. You will be the ONLY campers on our land which has a sacred waterfall that runs year round over beautiful smooth boulders and borders Native American Nisenan tribal land as well as Champion Mine State Park. Surrounded by forest, you are also only a mile’s walk/bike ride into town where you can take advantage of Nevada City’s incredible coffee/cafes, farm to table restaurants, pizzerias, breweries, wineries and fabulous shops...as well as its local theatre, music, art galleries and year-round festivals. Or don't go anywhere and instead explore the extensive watershed on and around our land where you can mediate in the cave behind our waterfall, splash in the creek, or pan for gold! Our land is also connected to one of the most beautiful hiking trail systems in the county that take you the famous suspension bridge over Deer Creek, a place of stunning beauty (and a very cool swimming/hangout spot for kids/families), as well as a short drive from fabulous swimming spots on the Yuba River, parks, and museums that reflect the county's rich Gold Rush history. Please note that the main camping spot is close to/visible from the road which is usually quiet and has very little traffic. There are other more secluded camping spots on the land deeper into the woods but they offer a smaller area/tighter squeeze.

Soaring Trees Singing Creek Retreat
Not bad, but not worth the money.
When we arrived, we went down a steep dirt driveway and found a narrow area cleared of brush / branches (accurately shown in the pics). That's it, there is no property nearby or anything like that. I think the pictures of the creek / river are likely taken from a different location. There is a creek down the hill, but you need to walk down a path that's blocked by a large fallen tree. My suggestion to the host would be to post accurate photos showing the path to the creek, and what the creek actually looks like when you're at this location, not the best photos of the creek from nearby.

Beautiful, secluded, primitive site
This is a beautiful, secluded and primitive site, which is exactly what I wanted. 👍🏻 Louise was quick to respond to texts and shared a great deal of information about the area. I will definitely book again.

We loved staying amongst the trees and creek! The land is beautiful and you feel like you are really in nature. Even with temperatures being over 90 degrees, we were very comfortable because of the shade given by all of the trees on the property. Great space for a group stay and loved all the recommendations given by Louise! Would highly suggest for those campers who like a true nature experience :)

Overpriced!
Nice, semi-secluded spot near Nevada City plus cool trails and a beautiful swimming hole on your hike into town. Getting in and out of site is tricky and it's pricey for tent camping, but overall it worked out well.

Soaring Trees Singing Creek Retreat
Felt very exposed, close to road
The land is beautiful, lots of trees and the sound of the creek was very soothing. Unfortunately, we struggled with a few things. We were there with our three kids and had three tents up. There was poison oak on one of the sites and that made it difficult to find an ideal position for the tent The site was very close to the road, to the point that I, being in the more secluded camping site, made eye contact with someone walking down the road while I was changing inside the tent. The road is adjacent to the campsite but up above it. Without a fly on our tent, we were really exposed. Our kids tents had to have their fly up since there were no trees between them and the road. Not ideal in 90 degree weather. The traffic was light but consistent throughout the day and a loud diesel truck very early in the morning woke us up. There’s no water, no electricity, no tables or amenities at all; which we knew going into it but thought we were paying for the experience of being fully immersed in nature and secluded but were really disappointed once we arrived. The creek was not accessible due to overgrown blackberries and poison oak. There is a five gallon bucket in a wooden enclosure with a lock. After seeing that, we felt unsure our belongings and camping equipment were safe leaving them behind given that a bucket needed to be locked up to stay safe. We made the best of it and enjoyed the proximity to town but were disappointed by the lack of clarity

Beautiful site close to trails
The site was beautiful! Great shade for most or the day with mature trees all around. You can hear the running water from your tent. It’s also a quick walk to the Deer Creek Trail and downtown Nevada City. There were quite a few mosquitoes, so come prepared with bug spray and tecnu.

We had a great camping experience! The Rices fire started not too far when we were there and I was kind of freaked out. We were not in any danger luckily, but Louise kept in contact with information and checked in. The spot was beautiful and the sound of the creek was so soothing.

Beautiful Site in Nevada City
Louise's land was really beautiful! Louise was very communicative and provided an extensive guide for my stay. I took them up on several suggestions and really enjoyed my time. The site is very immersed in nature, and although a short drive into town it feels very secluded. It was beautiful waking up to the sound of birds and the creek that runs through the land. Highly recommend this location if groups/more experienced solo campers are looking for a place to stay that's located near Yuba River and easy access to both Nevada City and Grass Valley. Also, I decided not drive down the driveway and stayed parked on the street outlet. My car likely would have been fine, but 4WD cars that aren't low are probably best suited for the driveway.

We loved the sense of privacy at the site; despite being just off the road and close to town, we hardly noticed anyone around. Louise's communication was fantastic and her guide to the area was super helpful. As long as you're prepared, since the site doesn't include many amenities, it'd be hard to find a place so beautiful, peaceful, and private so close to town.

Privacy & Nature near Nevada City
We really enjoyed our stay on Louies's land. She was super nice, and walked us through how to get to the campsite over the phone. The site was private, spacious, and only a few minutes from the center of Nevada City and miles of hiking trails. We walked to Nevada city, went to a tasty coffee shop, strolled the local farmers market, then walked some trails through a suspension bridge on our way back to our campsite. What more could you ask for? There were only two of us at the campsite, but there is room for plenty of others. The soaring trees, running creek, and night sky view was a pleasant night time surprise as well.

A Peaceful Weekend at Soaring Trees
We found this gorgeous campsite no problems (arrived around 10:30 Friday night). Drove down driveway, unloaded and set up tent just fine. Water music from creek and waterfall lovely to go to sleep to. We had great breakfast at the Pine Cafe in Grass Valley and spent better part of day exploring and hiking Empire Mine - coming back to enjoy lazy evening and dinner back at camp. This is a really special location and we'd recommend it to anyone wanting peace, beauty and solitude.

Beautiful spot next to a creek
The camping spot was great. It sits next to a small river/creek with waterfalls down below the camping space. It’s next to a quiet road but it generally doesn’t feel like it as the space dips far below the road but you can still see occasional pedestrians or cyclists mostly in the morning from the camping site. Louise was a great host with many recommendations for the area.

Sweet spot to camp in Nevada City
As a local Nevada City resident, I was curious to try out this spot for an easy-button car camping trip with my kids and some friends. This spot is a gem. The location is wooded and secluded enough to feel like you are getting away into the beauty of the outdoors - but it is also located close enough to the heart of Nevada City to allow you to take a 1-mile stroll into town for some treats. You can easily access the Deer Creek Tribute Trail system and check out the Angkula Seo suspension bridge. There is a gorgeous waterfall on the property itself that is easily accessible by a short walk, and there was plenty of flat space for parking and setting up tents. 10/10 would stay here again!

Peaceful Location
Great Location! This is a great place to stay, far away from the major roads to feel remote, yet close enough to walk to town. I did all the local hikes that Louise suggested, and they did not disappoint. The nearby river is beautiful, and a refreshing dip from the heat. The site was flat, clean, and convenient. I'd love to return. Thanks!

Soaring Trees was the perfect spot for our brief getaway. The location was perfect! Close to town yet far enough to really relax and enjoy nature. Falling asleep listening to the creek and waking up to the chirping birds was magical. The site itself was very well kept and clean, and the trails were an added perk. We’ll be back for sure :)

best. weekend. ever.
I booked this campsite for my friend’s birthday weekend and it was amazing! Louise was so nice and easy to communicate with and gave us tons of recommendations on fun things to do and places to eat. The campsite was only 15 minutes from the main Yuba river bridge and super close to Nevada city, but it felt like we were in our own private forest hidden away from everything. The creek was beautiful and the Yuba was excellent of course! At first my friends were nervous about the bucket toilet but it was actually quite accommodating once we got the hang of it haha. The driveway was steep but our 85 Nissan Maxima made it up and down no problem. All in all we had the best weekend ever and would definitely recommend :)

Good, but different than expected
Louise was a great host. We were able to get lots of information ahead of time to plan our camping trip. When we arrived the site was different than expected (hard to see from road and steep drive down). Smaller site than expected, but we all ended up fitting. No compost bags upon arrival, but they got some out to us asap. Close walking proximity to swing bridge and Nevada city, which was wonderful. TONS of mosquitos though, which made the dusk and evenings a little less enjoyable. Overall a good stay.

Fun Winter Camping
Me and two of my buddies decided to plan a short camping trip before embarking on another college semester of remote learning. After accepting our reservation Louise kindly asked if we needed any suggestions of places to eat and pointed out the shift in temperature come sunset. As a group of inexperienced campers we found this information to be valuable as it helped us plan accordingly. The location itself was isolated (with the exception of the occasional jogger or biker traveling on the main road) tucked away near a creek bed and surrounded by trees with no homes in sight. Once it became dark the only visible light was that of the moon and stars. This trip fulfilled our expectations.
