Mystic Canyon Tipi Glamping for 2!

94% (50)
Canvas tent · Sleeps 3
Last minute reservations OK! Yearning for some grounding in nature, stargazing and hiking? Mystic Canyon Tipi is the perfect relaxing getaway! We are far enough away from the city to be peaceful, but minutes from popular San Diego destinations. Come rest & rejuvenate your soul at your home away from home! Awesome tipi with amazing energy in the private garden of a rural Harbison Canyon pueblo style home, East San Diego County. Harbison Canyon is located at the east side of El Cajon, almost to Alpine. Come enjoy the countryside, where you can actually see the stars at night! You will hear roosters crowing in the morning, owls calling to each other at night and our local coyotes who can be heard "yipping" to each other. You will also hear road noise. (Earplugs are provided.) . Our Tipi sits on top of a wooden deck. We recently replaced the outer cover, as the horses cover had seen better days! The newer cover is depicted in the first photo. The tipi is furnished with a double futon bed, a table with two chairs, a nightstand and a faux fireplace. There is a heater and a fan to help make the temperature more comfortable if necessary, but keep in mind that a tipi, like a tent, will mirror outside temperatures. While you won't feel wind or rain (ok maybe a couple of drops coming through the pole hole), you will feel temperature extremes. If it's hot outside, it will be hot inside especially during the middle of the day. If it's cold outside, it will be cold inside, especially at night. We do have very warm bedding including an electric blanket, so once in bed, you will be plenty toasty! We suggest you plan your stay accordingly. If you visit during warmer weather, plan an activity during the middle of the day, such as exploring, hiking or shopping. Come back when it's a little cooler, or you can play board games or just hang out in our air conditioned living room. There are also plenty of shady spots in our garden to relax and read a book. In colder weather, remember to pack your warmest jammies. We will do what we can to make you more comfortable, but we cannot control the weather! We have electrical to the tipi and there is a fan, heater, electric blanket, lamp, and wifi. The Tipi is located about 30 ft the main house, where a Campers kitchen, bathroom facilities and showers are available off the back patio. You are also welcome to sit in our living room, which is a comfy place to read a book, use your computer, or just enjoy a glass of wine or cup of tea in front of the fireplace. We offer you with filtered water, coffee or tea, oatmeal and muffins in the morning, on the outdoor kitchen on our back patio. Guests have access to a full bathroom located off our back patio. There is a Keurig coffee maker, which we supply with coffee and condiments. We supply muffins and homemade instant oatmeal in a jar in the morning.  Our downstairs living room is a comfortable spot to relax, socialize, read a book or play some board games in a more temperature controlled environment! We have a Camper's Kitchen on the back patio. There is a two burner camp stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, barbecue and sink.  Other things to note: This being a more rural area, residents here do have animals and there is wildlife in our canyon. You will probably be awakened by roosters crowing, dogs barking or vehicular traffic hum from the main road. At night, you may hear coyotes and owls. Most people enjoy these "nature" sounds, but if you don't, we provide disposable ear plugs! As with the temperature, the tipi walls do not insulate against noise! We do not use pesticides or herbicides on our property, since we have animals, so you may see a critter or two and the weeds do get the best of us at times!  It's all part of nature! We also have a friendly cat and dog who may pay you a visit!
