This place was SUPER cool. Loved the views and the deck options. The sauna was amazing with the window looking out to the trees. Todd was a very friendly guy. We are looking forward to booking the place again.

Todd is an AMAZING host. He's very good at communication via HipCamp messaging, so whenever we had questions or needed anything, he was quick to respond and accommodate. I really enjoyed the vast space we had, since my group consisted of 14 people. He had a little cabin available if you wanted to use an indoor bathroom and kitchen, which came very handy for us. There were decks setup with such amazing views of the forest mountains. And I think the highlight was the beautiful starry sky during nightfall.

Todd is a great host. The property is cool and located as a spot ample for exploration of the National forest. Stars at night are a huge bonus.

Great hosts, great property with amenities and an awesome view to boot!
I finished a work assignment in San Francisco and needed a stopover on my way north to check out Lassen Volcanic National Park. Though a bit out of the way for my initial plan, this site had better appeal than the places available off of the 5 towards Redding.
Unfortunately the bay traffic pushed my arrival time to after dark (2030). JD was very welcoming and supplied a concise tour of the property - including the composting toilets, and access to the bathroom inside of one of the vacant residences on the property. Communal firepit was even lit for me so all I needed to do was settle in and relax after a long drive.
I made sure to wake up at 0530 to catch the view of the valley at sunrise before the mists moved in. Definitely look forward to coming back whenever I can.
The platforms are quality construction and very sturdy. Each site is even supplied with a fire extinguisher. First site (closest to the house) has the best view of the valley. Bathrooms are a short 20yd walk away - vacant residences with flush toilet and hot shower only another 20yds away between the barns and equipment. Decent cell service (Verizon) too!

The view was incredible! I absolutely loved camping at mosaic farm! It was amazing. Todd was super friendly, accommodating, and made our trip stress free. So thanks again, Todd! We had everything we needed and then some. The dogs were all well behaved and very sweet, especially with our puppy who is still learning social skills. The property is huge and Todd let us explore to our hearts content. We will definitely be staying here again. The peace and quiet was wonderful and we were sad to leave.

Camping at Mosaic Farms is a unique experience with a platform nestled above the trees, a small animal farm, a sauna, and outdoor showers with hot water. Once night fell, we charged our phones and relaxed in the lounge area. Todd and his friends were incredibly welcoming, making the stay even more enjoyable.

I had a great time at Mosaic Farm. I came by myself to check it out before organizing a trip with my friends. The road and path to the campsite was good. Todd was super welcoming. The platforms had great views. Another review said they were too close to each other but this wasn’t a problem for me because no one else had reserved the day I went and I would prefer it this way when I bring my friends so we can be close together. The dogs are the sweetest! I’ll be back!

We had a fine stay, although the campsite was a little different than we expected. The hosts met us upon arrival and gave us a tour of the property, which we appreciated. However, there were several buildings, residents, and other campers quite near the site; that was not readily apparent to us from the listing.
Some of the amenities listed also deserve a bit more explanation. For example, there was a barbecue available but it was right next to the main house and a walk from the campsite itself. There was also a flush toilet, but it was located in an outbuilding with a strong odor from a goat hide tanning project (?) and strewn with various equipment. I also wouldn't count on being able to use a full kitchen, although it was helpful to be able to store some food in the available fridge.
The price is right and it's easy to get to lots of gorgeous spots on the Yuba from there. The hosts let us do our thing and didn't enforce any kind of quiet hours, which our large group of friends also appreciated.
Overall this site was fine for a weekend, but I'm not rushing to re-book.

Host was friendly, welcoming, very flexible and responsive to our questions.
The property was gorgeous, quiet, safe, and even had baby goats, piglets and ducklings.
There are wooden decks for your tents overlooking a wooded valley. A beautiful view.
We would love to stay again next time we drive through. Perfect for a big group or just a couple.

This platform was heavenly. Can’t beat the view. I slept out on the deck in July and the night was warm. Barely any mosquitoes. I’d come back again!

My biggest issue with this listing is the lack of honesty/transparency.
I had asked before booking if this camping site was private and received a response of if we didn't want to see or be in contact with people, the host could make that happen. Since the listing shows one camp site and with the owners response, I thought it would be private. I was also told the host or owner would provide a pellet grill. There was no way this camping site was going to be private and there was a grill but no pellets. There was notice on the listing of a kitchen but I guess I should be thankful there were people nearby as I was informed the kitchen has not been usable in years and that they have been living as farmers/guests on the land for some time. They were also nice enough to give me a lighter for my fire. I did try and contact the host I was told to contact and received no answer when texted/called. I have no idea how many of the people within so many feet of our camping site were strangers that live on the land and how many extra campers were there, but it felt creepy. There were multiple old van/campers within close proximity as well as a house that had view of the open shower below. There was pieces of metal on the ground. It did not feel safe for my family. I will say the tent decks and the cliff view is beautiful. We only stayed one of our two nights and then left.

It was our first Hipcamp experience and our first time taking four dogs out with us. The phone service was bad so we did get a little lost and when we pulled into the street, dogs greeted us and we turned around so I could walk up to the camp without my dogs barking. Our plans changed and we didn’t get to spend the night but I did get to meet with the host. Super nice guy! I let him know our plans and asked for recommendations for a trail. He had a great one along the freeway. It was far away from the street that I could let my dogs off leash, comfortably. I would go back based on the hospitality but I’d probably leave my dogs behind because would’ve liked something more secluded and private for them.

It’s a little gem of a property! The hosts are very friendly and chill. The views are beautiful and calm. There are platforms overlooking the valley, very comfortable for camping. Toilet and showers. And amazing wood sauna as a stunning surprise! Close to swimming holes and hikes. Highly recommended. They also host weddings and events occasionally

I loved this place! My first Hipcamp experience was amazing because of Todd and his friends. The serenity of the area was much needed.
Being able to just pop on my bike and hit the mtb trails of Nevada city straight from the camp was perfect.
I will definitely be visiting Todd, Murph, Lula and Sage again.

Place was really cool! Loved the animals and all the cool projects going on. Camping area is secluded from the rest of the farm, with gorgeous views! If you are a self-sufficient camper, this is the place for you.

Awesome eclectic property. Lots to offer, from homestead vibes, to epic MTB trails nearby, to expansive views looking out over Scott’s Flat, this place has it all. And to top it all off Todd was an awesome host, showing us around, greasing our trailer hitch, free eggs from hens on the property. What a lovely experience. Didn’t even have time for the sauna! We’ll be back for sure!
