Great option in case you show up to Joshua Tree and all of the overnight camping is full! New pergola and picnic table along with a fire pit and barbecue. Extremely easy to find and each camping site is numbered clearly. Neat spot next to a small engine dirt runway, we didn't experience a plane landing or taking off during our stay. Would recommend!

The covered picnic table was unexpected and provided much needed shade. We loved the solitude and quiet of the desert setting and enjoyed both a desert sunset and sunrise. Location was also very close to 29 Palms for supplies, food and entertainment at a casino.

If you're looking for wide sweeping views of the valley, you found the right place! Sites were clean and tidy, and the shade is a premium luxury out here. Outhouses were spotless, cleanest I've seen. All 5 sites are well distanced apart, which gives a sense of a bit of privacy if you're over the crowded campgrounds in the park. Having a charcoal bbq and firepit ready to go was awesome, and a tether ball and horseshoe pit to get that last bit of energy out in the cool of the evening. The distance to town feels remote enough to be able to disconnect but close enough to be convenient, and only a few minutes from the park entrance. Had full cell phone service as well, which you don't have in the park so you can plan out your next adventure once back at camp. Claire was also an astounding camp host and answered all my questions right away and was more than gracious. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!! Don't hesitate to book here for your next Joshua Tree adventure!

The site was was great! Everything seemed well kept and the bathrooms were clean. I enjoyed the tether ball and horseshoes available. A very nice spot if you’re looking for some great desert views.

This is a great spot if you want to visit Joshua Tree National Park, but you don’t want the hassle of searching for a space in the crowded Joshua government campgrounds. My experience with campgrounds in the park is that they are very noisy at night and not suitable for kids (large groups staying up all night drinking and swearing and throwing fireworks in their fires, for example).
In contrast, we took our Scout group to Claire’s campground and had a wonderful experience. There was plenty of space to spread out, firewood ready for us in the fire pits, and the kids played with the tether ball and horseshoes. We had an easy drive each day into the park.
Claire was a great host who responded immediately to questions and helped us out upon our arrival.
Plus - there is a runway on site - how cool is that?

Went to Joshua Tree last minute and couldn’t find any reservations in the park but this place was exactly what we needed. It had all the amenities we needed and very clean.

The campsite was fantastic and exactly as advertised! Easy to locate with Clairelyse's precise directions, portapotty was impeccably clean, and the fire pit was already ready with free logs and kindling to our delight. It was very quiet and dark, perfect for stargazing. There was even tetherball and cornhole too. Clairelyse was super responsive to our messages, even on Thanksgiving evening. Highly recommend!

This was my 3rd Hipcamp site on my road trip and the best by far. It was clean, open, quiet, it looked like the photos, and they even provided firewood free of charge.
Clairelyse was a wonderful host as well, she gave some great recommendations of things doing the area and was quick in response time. If I'm passing through again, I'm staying here!

We enjoyed our stay at the airport campground. Wide open space but each campsite was clearly marked. Portapotty and campsite were clean and we appreciated having the table and shade structure. The host was very responsive and I would recommend this location for any camper in the 29 palms area!

I stayed at Mojave Desert Outfitters for 2 nights and had an excellent time and experience. Easy to find the place and the short dirt road into the campground was well maintained. I met the hosts. Great family and really good people. They made me feel very welcome. They were great to talk to and they even gave me a bunch (very big bunch) of firewood at no cost. The location is also great in case you plan on visiting Joshua Tree NP. It is about 10-15 minutes to the north entrance of the park. Very clean campsites and very clean porta potty. I would definitely go back.

We had fun pitching our tent in the Mohave Desert Outfitters! The place is quiet at night and fantastic for stars gazing. In the morning, we drank our coffee while watching a small plane flying around; the kids were thrilled! The hosts are accommodating and welcoming; we most definitely recommend it!
