Cozy Cabin at The Garden
My first stay at the Cozy Cabin
My friend and I stayed at the Cozy Cabin at the beginning of October. This was my first time in Fort Bragg, and I really did not know what to expect. I wanted to stay somewhere that offered an escape from the city, and Sojourna's property did just that. My favorite things from our stay:
- The land is extremely picturesque. A beautiful mist came through at sunrise, and the property was NEVER foggy - unlike the rest of the town
- Sojourna! She is an exceptional human being and host. Super sweet of her to decorate the room for my birthday and make me a bouquet <3
- The facilities! I loved the option of using the compostable toilet/outdoor shower OR the bathroom located inside the Community House. Before visiting, I thought there were no facilities located inside - there are!
- The wildlife - amazing seeing deer, jackrabbits, and other critters around the property
- First Friday! We got super lucky and saw that downtown FB was holding their monthly First Friday. There were loads of galleries, good food, and wonderful company
- Insulation! I really expected to be freezing at the Cozy Cabin. Honestly, I was very comfortable using only my sleeping bag
Special Notes:
- If you're staying in the Cozy Cabin, bring a sleeping bag. There is a comfortable mattress, but it's preferred to use a sleeping bag on the bed
- Soaps + toiletries that are not natural (contain fragrances, chemicals) cannot be used. We used soap provided
- Only store vegan items in the community kitchen

Turkey Tail Camp
Loved the fresh produce! Way worth the $3!!! The cedar walled shower was great. Potable water spigot on the turkey trail site was convenient.

Jo's Cabin
Review
I would suggest improving the toilet facilities. My female partner refused to use your bucket.
You could use a receptacle for garbage and one for recycling. Marking what is drinkable water or not.
In our cabin you can put in steps up to the bed. (Not everyone is in there 20’s! )
Provide that book of your on the first day.
Your checking in was great. Never felt disconnected.

Open space, lots of places to walk and find privacy. Helpful, forthcoming farm managers. Close to town and still remote. I highly recommend bringing a bicycle.

Cozy Cabin at The Garden
Rustic, private and colorful views
Cozy Cabin is a simple 1 room rustic cabin with a bed, dresser and little porch. Solar power provides light and the ability to charge your devices, and there is cell service. There’s wood burning stove. I brought my own bedding and towels.
My host was extremely accommodating, providing me with gifts of organic fruits and vegetables, and an enthusiasm for this way of life that was contagious. This is a small community of people offering an example of collaboration and a vision of a sustainable future, but it is not a requirement for camping here; it just shows in their positivity.
The community kitchen is available for simple cooking , and a shower and toilet are there also for Cozy Cabin campers. A short walk, but a headlight is a good idea.
This was the perfect solution for me- I didn’t want the hassle of tent camping but I wanted simple and rustic; this gave me that and more: a view into a community that lives by a vision of being stewards of the land and complete privacy in my little cabin.

Jo's Cabin
Ran out of characters. Needs work.
We had an okay time, it was saved by the fact that we weren’t at the site often and instead in town or out for walks.
Pros:
Location is great, 5 minutes to town, yet still private.
Jos cabin is tucked away in its own little nook
The night sky was beautiful with no light pollution
The outside space was large
It did technically have a bathroom/shower and cooking area
I notice someone building a newer shower/bathroom area near the tent sites, so upgrades are being done
Cons:
Jos cabin was 100 percent not ready to be rented
When we got there, the cabin wasn’t labeled, we just assumed it was the right one based off the pictures
The “cabin” is more like a pieces together shack with a raised platform bed and a giant fireplace that wasn’t working
Rickety “furniture”, a small wooden dresser with a piece of too big wood on top that promptly fell off
Spiders everywhere
Spiderwebs everywhere
It was a little damp, but we’re on the coast, so to be expected
The bed is a FULL not a queen
The bed had unclean sheets that were strangely sandy
The bed also had spiders in and around it.
Bed didn’t come with blankets, just dirty sheet and 2 pillows. Didn’t mention bringing your own blankets.
No fire pit (not mentioned)
“Bathroom” is a bucket with a lid and sawdust and instant hot water heater. The propane ran out mid shower, and the shower head broke. Infested with banana slugs and it’s crap all over the walls. More spiders.
For $95/night + cleaning fee, 👎🏻

Jo's Cabin
My family and I enjoyed our stay at Meadow Farm. The cabin was perfect! Small and cozy. Sojourna was a great host! She took us through the garden picking fresh veg. My kids had a blast. I would 100% stay herr again when its too hot in Lake County.

Cozy Cabin at The Garden
Beautiful place to stay for the weekend! The cabin was clean and cozy with a wood stove to keep us warm. We bought some of the veggies from the garden to have for meals which was delicious! Caitlin was a fantastic host and made sure we were comfortable and was super easy to communicate with. I'd love to go back over the summer :)

Cozy, peaceful cabin nestled in a secluded part of an impressive organic farm. We really appreciated the fire starter kit and full canteen of water. Perfect for a couples' getaway, with easy access to Fort Bragg restaurants and coastal hikes. We'll be back!

Site 1 - In Tents Experience!
Peaceful getaway with starry skies
We had a wonderful experience staying at Meadow Farm. The location is beautiful and the garden in the meadow is amazing. Our host Sojourna was very friendly and answered all our questions. We stayed in one of the tents, which had two single beds/cots for us to use with our sleeping bags. The campfire area (with a huge clear view of the sky) and picnic table made for a very enjoyable car camping experience. The farm has volunteers helping out and they are working on many projects to develop the place for residents and campers. We'd love to return on our next camping trip up the coast!

Hidden gem of Fort Bragg!
Our night at the farm was absolutely wonderful! Sojourna and the rest of the Meadow Farm crew were so friendly and welcoming. They made sure we had everything we needed and showed us around the farm. It was an amazing property to explore and a perfect little outdoor getaway. Our tent made us feel comfortable and cozy and the communal kitchen and bathroom facilities were nice to have as well. The outdoor living room was lovely to hang around the fire at night. Also, really cute dogs!! So excited to come back here!

Thank you for a wonderfully peaceful stay, Sojourna! If you want to wake up to the sound of chirping birds and go to bed under a blanket of stars, you should stay at the cozy cabin! We regret not being able to spend more time with the community on meadow farm but that only gives us more reason to come back.

It was me and my girlfriends first time staying at Meadow Farm and we will definitely be returning!! We found ourselves strolling the garden, green house, campground, etc. many times throughout the day, making sure to take in the beauty of the place. The people there are so accommodating and friendly. A place that everyone should experience! Thanks again for the great time, Sojourna!

Meadow Farm is a mere five minutes away from Fort Bragg but it feels as though it is far from town. Our 7 year old daughter had a great time biking around the Farm and we were fortunate enough to experience a clear stunning starry moonless night. The cabin is cozy but well laid out. We had a great time!

Cozy Cabin at The Garden
Wonderful
Though foggy along the Mendocino Coast, the farm is inland and so sunny and warm! The garden, full of fresh produce is lush and beautiful. The energy of the property is peaceful and the stars at night are majestic!
Our host and all other farm folks were so kind and generous to share their space with us! We will definitely be back for another stay.

Loved the warm fireplace
We enjoyed our stay at the Cozy Cabin. It was rustic and peaceful and remote... the fireplace in the cabin kept us nice and toasty. Our hosts had even loaded up the fireplace with wood and kindling so it was easy to get warm as soon as we arrived late Friday night. And if we had stayed longer and planned a little better we would definitely have used the welcoming, well-stocked community kitchen. Thank you!

Rustic tranquil cabin
If you feel like getting away from it all, this is a perfect rustic one room cabin situated about 10 minutes from downtown Fort Bragg on a beautiful property. Meadow Farm has an exciting and righteous mission and I wish them all the best. We'll definitely look to stay there again.

Cozy Cabin at The Garden
Simply put, the Meadow Farm cabin is rad! My wife and I had the pleasure of staying here recently and we were blown away by the cozy accommodations and genuine hospitality of the hosts. Really inspiring to learn about the farm, the plant based harvests and it's mission to become a Community Emergency Relief Team. We were in Fort Bragg to sample the single track on our mountain bikes and lucky for us there was local trail builder on site to fill us in on lots of the trails to explore - not to mention patch a leaky tire and troublesome shifter. We love this place and will surely be returning soon!

We were busy exploring the area but they kindly offered to show us the property and their garden! It's very quiet, serene, and private. It's close to Fort Bragg, so it was easy to pop in and out

Absolutely loved my stay at the cabin at Meadow Farms. It is a small quant little cabin and it is super cozy. There is a wood burning fire stove and there was wood available there for you to use as well. There is a community house near the farm as well that I was able to use for kitchen purposes, as well as get some green beans from the farm to cook for dinner. Everyone was super friendly and fun to be around. One day we walked through the forest and looked for some mushrooms along the path and there is a secret swing you can find back in the woods. I think the swing was one of my favorite parts. The air is fresh and farm is beautiful, the food here tastes better than at any farm I’ve ever been to. The strawberries were the sweetest and Jesse has Rattlesnake Beans growing in the garden that are to die for!
By appointment you can schedule a tune up with the bike man on site - I got my bike tuned up and couldn’t be happier. Jesse owned a bike shop for many years and knows his stuff - he also built a majority of the bike trails in the area and gives tours as well. He took me to the ‘ride-thru’ tree trail, where you get to ride your bike down some sick trails and through an actual red wood tree!! Super fun and I defiantly recommend adding that into your plans. (After booking, just send them a message letting them know you are interested in having your bike tuned up and going on some trails)
They are just a few minutes from downtown Fort Bragg, beaches and walking trails. I love how close it was to the fun things in town, yet being there on the property, you feel as if you are far away from the world and it’s super peaceful. In town, I ventured down the trail that went over the trestle and near the beach and to see Glass Beach. I even took my kayak down the 1 to the Big River one day to kayak and that was a blast. Check in with your hosts and they can recommend even more cool spots in town.

We had a great time staying at Meadow Farm over the Labor Day weekend. The accommodations were just as described and everyone at farm was super friendly and helpful. Cabin is small, but plenty of space for two and the bed was quite comfortable. So quiet you can hear the ocean at night. Ryan provided clear directions before our arrival and was there to meet us even though we arrived later in the evening. Will visit again.

Cozy Cabin at The Garden
Meadow farm was exactly what we were looking for. So peaceful, and you could be as off the grid as you would like. Still cell service if you want to be connected, or disconnect and truly enjoy the farm as it should be. The cabin was neat and cozy, and our family of four slept easily with my wife and I in the beds and our kids on the floor. Ryan and his family are great people! They gave us a tour of the farm, we walked the trail in the woods, and just enjoyed each other. We hope to be back again soon!
