This is a beautiful property!! It was so peaceful. We loved all the hens and roosters running around, they were so friendly. The koi pond is so cute with a nice deck and picnic table to eat or relax at. They even provided fish food, so that was cool. We also loved the mixture of rustic and modern in the cabin. There were tons of amenities like heated floors, fancy shower heads, pantry food, fresh eggs, full bar, fully stocked kitchen, and even stuff like swim toys, high chair, and pack n play for kids. I liked that both bedrooms had their own TV. And two full bathrooms was pretty sweet too! Comfy beds. Tons of extra pillows and blankets, even heated blankets. The deck had a fire pit and bbq, and even a sink. We didn’t get a chance to try the outdoor bathtub, but it looked relaxing! My only complaint is the living room furniture could use an update, the recliner part of the chair was broken, and the futon wasn’t the comfiest, but minor issue considering how awesome everything else about the place was. The owners were super accommodating, anything we needed they took care of right away. We felt very welcome there! And we already plan on coming back.

Awesome Studio

With kids ·

This was a beautiful quiet cabin right on ridge-line of the Santa Cruz mountains. The host was accommodating and provided delicious fresh eggs, snacks, coffee, and beer. I would visit again. My kids enjoyed it. It was just right for 2 adults and 2 kids. The bed was very comfortable but I could not have slept on the foldable couch. Overall, I loved it.

Cozy site with a Killer View!

Beautiful site. It really has all the amenities you can ask for with a killer view. I would highly recommend. Great getaway from city life. Wife and I will definitely book again.

My partner and I absolutely loved it here! The eclectic yurts were awesome and the views were great. This host was so accommodating and was super helpful. We loved the army of chickens and ducks on the property as well! If you are looking for a nice getaway this is the place!

Didn’t want to go home, loved it

My husband and I had such a lovely stay. I felt like a kid at summer camp, I almost cried because I didn’t want to go home! The house has everything you could need, it has quirks but expected for a Hipcamp! The pond has so many beautiful fish, and you can feed them. The chickens, roosters, ducks and goose are all friendly and have their own personality. Sometimes we got a chicken fashion show along the deck through the sliding glass door. Every room has a view out to the pond and mountain range/ocean. The view from the deck or the pond are incredible. We got rain one of the days we were there and it didn’t matter, we still had an amazing view and cozied up with a puzzle we’d brought. There are other cabins on either side of you, but you have reasonable privacy. We got lucky and there weren’t bookings on both sides at the same time during our stay, YMMV. We were so close to trails, on the day we got good weather we visited the redwoods. That night I enjoyed a bath in the outdoor tub, to soak my tired bones, it was magical! We’re already talking about going back, our new happy place.

Amazing glamping experience.

We felt very welcomed. The cabin was everything we imagined and more. The hosts meticulously made sure we had everything we could need or want for our vacation. All you’ll need to do is pack your clothes. Literally. They have a beautiful property. The chickens and roosters are people friendly and so adorable. We thought we would hear the roosters but we didn’t. They provide earplugs by the bedside if you need them. But you won’t. Being close to all the animals we thought we might smell the coop but there wasn’t a foul smell anywhere on the property. The pond is beautiful. The host indicated we could wade in the pond but the weather was bad. The trails were right off the property and beautiful. I always like to report the good and ugly about our experiences at locations we visit. Reviews from past visitors give you the real lowdown of the place. I’m sorry but there wasn’t a negative I can think of. Honestly I want to move in!

We had a wonderful stay here! I stayed with my family for one night, and we all loved it. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. The accommodation was clean, well maintained, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed-including fresh eggs, snacks, and drinks. You can tell they have put a lot of care into making sure guests have a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing, family-friendly getaway with beautiful views and great hospitality

The great escape

Can’t believe this escape was only 35mins away from Palo Alto. The view from the Yurt was amazing as in the eggs and wine and all the other amenities that are provided. You really don’t have to worry. Plus Jon and Mary was super helpful and quick to respond to anything.

Wonderful Stay!

I loved my stay in May’s log cabin. I got a tour of the land when I arrived which was very interesting and Jon gave me direction to a couple of places for hiking right from the property. This Hipcamp is incredibly clean AND there is awesome coffee, tons of snacks/beer/alcohol/soda - and fresh eggs waiting for you in the fridge! I enjoyed my stay so much I just rebooked my ticket back home and booked 4 more nights!

Heaven on earth

15/10 would recommend. What an incredible little slice of heaven. The hosts have gone way above and beyond to insure guests have everything they could possibly need. I cannot wait to visit again. My only regret is not staying longer. Pro tip: make sure you have a hat to sleep in if you're staying in a yurt.

Cabin in the mountains.

I loved staying at Harlan's Hideaway. It was a cozy little cabin with all the amenities. It had a beautiful view of the forest, beautiful landscape. There were other campsites and cabins around, but they weren't loud at all. Great experience.

BEWARE! Horrible Host experience

Unacceptable host behavior. No respect for privacy or boundaries, even in tent! Camp has beautiful views, everything to cook a full meal, could have done without yellow water/dead fly in ice maker. The hot water stopped working when I tried to fill the bath. Jon was unable to fix it and said someone would come look at it when they got back. He offered us use of a bath at a different site until they could fix ours. During this time he stayed at our site talking at us, making several very offensive, inappropriate remarks about people of color and women. He finally left after about 20 minutes. About an hour later me and my partner were in the tent in bed when the other host (didn't get her name) briefly announced herself then immediately came up to the tent, even though I responded "I'll be right out". Luckily I was able to cover myself before she saw me naked! She continued to stand in the doorway of the tent and talk to us while we were naked, covered with the blanket! She was telling us that we could not use the other bath offered and they had double booked our site. we felt shocked at this interaction. To make it worse she came back later and did it again! Later in the evening while walking around the property, Jon walked by us and made a comment about burying bodies with his tractor! I ran out of review characters, wasn't able to mention the more benign undesirables. This camp could be cool but the hosts have no respect for your privacy and are wildly inappropriate.

Peaceful getaway

Absolutely stunning views and vibes! I love how close the trails are and the chickens are a delight . They are so thoughtful and the attention to detail was incredible . No need to bring any essentials if you’re not picky because in the yurt I got it was fully stocked with everything from bbq utensils to plates , tea, usb charger , you name it . Definitely desire to come back .

The site itself is really lovely. But check-in was a bit chaotic - our Yurt was double booked, so we ended up in the second yurt site (they are identical so no big deal). But it was initially stressful because there's no cell service - and I didn't want to start unloading in the second site until we confirmed it was okay. We almost just left because we weren't sure who to talk to/where to go.

My family and I said at Harlen Hideaway. We loved it! Beautiful view. The inside was perfect for 3 adults and 1 little. Loved how it was decorated. They also have snacks/drinks when you arrive. We are excited to do another stay in the future. Jon does an amazing job to make you feel welcomed.

i’d live here!

this cabin is absolutely precious. i absolutely loved it, i booked a second night! it’s got all you need and more for a cozy and fulfilling stay. i loved the outdoor tub, cooking outside and sitting spring the fire pit. the weather was perfect and i even got to feed the fish in amazing weather. i was very comfortable in the cabin. i will definitely book this one again!!

what a cozy and comfortable stay during some very wet and windy weather. this little studio had it all to have a show up with your bags and essential needs, and you’re good to go. there’s a lot of elegant touches and homey farm vibes, too. the hosts were incredible and accommodating. so kind and they are the kind of hosts that want to do whatever they can to ensure you’re stay is the best. jon even gave me a wonderful farm tour when i arrived the day before(stayed in yurt on top-10/10) and it’s incredible. i enjoyed the farm fresh eggs and the complementary wine they had. i most def will keep coming back here. in fact, im coking back a lot this month, and bringing a friend!
