Welcome to Lovey's Landing on the Sacramento River! COME JOIN US ON THE RIVER Located just 5 minutes from the Sutter Basin, home to the Sutter Buttes – the smallest mountain range in the nation – Lovey's Landing is known for its exquisite sunsets and great fishing in the Sacramento River. LOVEY'S HAS HEART The people are what makes a difference. You can enjoy the beauty and serenity of the nearby river and relax. But really, it's the people that continue to make Lovey's a tradition — the people that work here and the people that visit. There's a home-feel about the place! Come on by for a visit. WILDLIFE PARADISE Wildlife and waterfowl are abundant here. In fact, the area is a migratory capital for ducks, geese & egrets. Farmlands are everywhere as well as orchards, (we are located in farmland, so you may hear nearby farm equipment or irrigation pumps — these are part of the surrounding landscape and are not part of our property.) ponds, marsh, creeks & sometimes winter puddles. Tall oaks, black walnuts, cottonwoods, and willows offer their timeless beauty and shade. Summer climate brings blue skies & warm daily temperatures of 85-105 degrees with cooler evenings. Color paints a pretty spring with orchard blossoms & wildflowers, and fall arrives with autumn brilliance. Winter skies fill with snow geese creating a most spectacular view. Bring your camera! FANTASTIC FISHING Can you say BIG FISH? Striped bass, sturgeon, shad, king salmon, and catfish. have all been caught near Lovey's. Check out the photos of some of our favorite people and their fish. While fishing isn’t available directly from the property, the river offers fantastic opportunities for those who want to cast a line nearby. TRADITION Since 1957, Lovey's has been a welcome place for people from all over to hang out and relax. camp, and enjoy a casual, natural environment. We were in camping site A, which is next to a large area of unresolved trash. Was not prepared for the number of mosquitos, contacted West Nile Virus from excessive bites.

Site C - Meadow by the River!
Was a family gateway turned into mosquito infested runaway. No river access, no fishing, bathrooms with very stinky water. Next to rv park and a huge pump station that is running constantly. There's absolutely nothing to do here.

Overall the experience was good, but please consider not zooming around in loud trackers in the morning when you have guests camping or zooming past guests extremely fast in the morning as they are exiting the restrooms. Some people are camping to get away from loud vehicles and some are noise sensitive.

We needed a place to stay briefly overnight. My friend camped in his tent. I slept in my truck. Our camp was in the meadow. It was very pleasant and quiet, although there is a bright light on a high pole that sheds light on the area all night. I hung a towel on the rack on top of the truck to keep that out. Price was reasonable but the bathrooms were disagreeable and we preferred not to use them.

The field setting was glorious, especially with a nearly full moon and gentle breeze. However, for the price of $54 w/fees & taxes, I expected clean bathrooms. There were dead bugs and other small detritus on both sinks, and one shower stall had leaves etc stuck in the mat. There was no soap for hand washing (didn’t expect any for the shower.) Toilets were quite dirty. I’m not fastidious, however, basic cleaning would have been appreciated.

Unless you're there for fishing and boating, I don't recommend this campground. I was there with my tent just to have a place to stay on my road trip to Joshua tree. The boats were loud on the river until almost 11 PM and started up again around 5 AM. Also, unless you were getting on a boat, there was no access to the river.

Me and my friends are on a bike tour and we stayed the night at Lovey’s Landing on our way south. Our biggest complaint is that the water was disgusting and we didn’t want to ride a few miles into town to get some. Fortunately one of the people living there took mercy on us and gave us a gallon of water to cook with and drink. We tried to talk to the camp host but they weren’t around. I know it’s a campground but the showers were kind of gross and the water smells. Fishing is the big thing to do here. No place to swim in the river.

I can't speak to the beauty of the scenery, as it was dark when we arrived and dark when we left. The directions given were accurate, the camp grounds seemed well manicured. We arrived around 8:40pm and were in bed by 9. At 11pm, we were woken up by sprinklers soaking our entire campsite. Every time the water hit our tent we were jolted awake. We quit trying to sleep at 2:30am, and the sprinklers were still on at 3am when we left, soaking every tent site (we were the only ones tent camping). We will not be returning.

Need full discloser about site. Was only a nite, so not too bad. Looks like permaent residences of anout 40 folks. Ed the host gave us electrical and water though. He came out in the morning and greeted us. Great guy!

This is the front yard of a trailer park that people live in. Pictures are very deceiving. No river access with the exception of a small sandy river area off the property that was covered in trash. Site c is right next to a 5th wheel that someone lives in. Definitely not what I was expecting.

Nice, easy overnight camping on the way to our longer hike. Unremarkable as the river is further below you (was worried about mosquitos but we encountered none here!, granted we did arrive late and leave earlier), and you can hear a generator somewhere through the night. But in the morning if you awaken to the birds, there is a cool tiny mountain range you can see in the distance of you are able to find the horizon opposite to the river. Has flat grassy ground to easily pitch a tent, a lovely starry night sky and robins nesting in the mulberry trees around the trailer park! Bathrooms are okay, there are two, smell a little of sulfur, but they flush and there’s a sink with low water pressure. There was a picnic table and new/very clean small grill at our chosen site C. Friendly folks. You’re allowed to drive onto the lawn to get closer to your specified campsite. It’s worth the overnight stay.

We recently stayed at Lovey’s and what an amazing experience it was. The grounds were flush with greens everywhere from every blade of grass to the trees and ample space for everyone to have fun. The kids enjoyed running around forsure. On top of this, the owner was amazing and extremely kind. He brought a ton joy to us this weekend and we enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Overall great camping site, just be aware of it being next to a river, you’ll be exposed to bugs like mosquitoes. The only ding I would give it was that the bathroom and showers were not clean, so don’t recommend it to be used as your primary source of relief. Other than that very peaceful and also flat!

They are very accommodating allowing us to avoid the wet ground we paid for and stayed on a nice gravel area. It is a bit of a drive off of I-5. Very quiet.

A really nice place, the afternoons are really wonderful (just watch out for the mosquitoes, as it’s a river side). Eddie was really attentive and helpful!

We arrived after dark and the entrance was difficult to find because google does not navigate to the right spot. The person that takes care of the camp after hours was impossible to find because their office or residence was not clearly labeled. The grounds looked well kept and nice. The bathroom facilities were quite run down and when you ran the water it smelled of eggs.

A beautiful location where you are greeted upon entry & welcomed in by an extremely awesome MOD Eddie, you are guided to your parking spot & left to unwind and unpack within the tranquility of this hidden gem. Sue runs the place excellent. It’s very nice to have your space yet know someone is available if you need anything at any moment. Lots of trees and grass. I would recommend staying here for sure!!!! Loved it!!! Stayed a few days wish it could of been for longer!
