Love creek sanctuary was founded in 2016. It all started with Stu the steer and his best friend Petey the goat, from there we have rescued over 90 animals, 45 make their home here at the sanctuary. Our camping areas are fenced from the animals but you are free to explore our 12 acres and interact with the animals during your stay here. We ask that children under 10 stay outside the animal areas and children over 10 are accompanied by a grownup. We have plenty of art and child friendly activities, just ask and we can set you up. We have a no dog policy because the chickens and birds are free ranging, unfortunately we have had several bad experiences with dogs attacking the birds and other animals. If you have a dog that has been around farm animals and is well behaved, let's talk about it. We have 5 dogs so the birds have NO FEAR of them. ---- We are a working farm - PLEASE READ----- There are donkeys, roosters, dogs and peacocks that make noise, sometimes at night and always early in the morning. Please be aware that you may hear the donkeys bray (usually lasts about 30 seconds), roosters crow, guinea fowl chirp. It is startling and will wake you up. We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing. If you are a light sleeper, please bring earplugs or select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you! In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty. We spray all high traffic surfaces twice a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy. Please plan accordingly. We are centrally located between Grass Valley and Auburn, giving you access to endless recreational activities, wineries, breweries and restaurants. We have 50 or so rescued farm animals, you can interact with our pig Hank, Mojo the goat or Teddy the alpaca. NOTE: Starting Memorial Day each year, we have replaced all of our wood fire pits with gas fire pits. We have increased our prices to help cover the costs of propane. Thank you for choosing us!

We offer a group rate for the entire property upon request.  This booking is only available to book the entire property, less the trailer (that is an extra charge).  You can bring a small trailer of your own with your group but we will not have electricity available to you.  We will approve your booking if the other bookings are open on the days you select.  If we have bookings already here, we will reach out to find a solution for your group.  Thanks.  Love Creek Sanctuary was founded in 2016. About our trailer:  We are offering our 24ft trailer for campers.  Enjoy all of the scenery of the sanctuary and have the comfort of the trailer.  The trailer is fully stocked with kitchenware and kitchen supplies for 4 (plates, cups, etc).  The trailer technically has 3 beds. The main bed is a queen size bed and we provide sheets and 2 comforters. The other two beds are the pullout couch and the table folds down.  If you require bedding for the additional beds, please bring it with you.   We have a max of 6 in the trailer but we will extend if you want to have a couple tents in the site.  Just let us know.   NOTE: we only provide 2 towels in the trailer, please bring additional towels if you have more than 2 people in your party.  ---- We are a working farm - PLEASE READ ----- Love Creek Sanctuary was founded in 2016. You Can Feel the Love on this Farm

We loved staying on the farm with all of the rescued animals. We even got to feed them. Our kids loved petting the animals and spending time on the farm. Host Shanna was very welcoming and kind. She even provided us firewood and helped with some electrical issues with our RV. Beautiful sanctuary farm away from the hustle and bustle! We are already looking forward to a return visit in the near future :)

Amazing stay! Shanna & Garth were incredible hosts, so kind and accommodating. The farm animals were the highlight and there’s lots of freedom to roam and feed them. Highly recommend for anyone needing a reset, the perfect peaceful getaway

The camp was fun for the kids overall, they enjoyed feeding the animals , the lady was nice and hospitable. Plenty of seating. Picnic tables which needed to be wiped down as the birds get on it looking for food.. My oldest was not fond of the wake up call by all the farm birds lol or the tons of flies constantly sitting on us , I wasn’t so fond of the flies either as they wouldn’t leave me alone, got bit by mosquitos as well. wish there was fly traps and some citronella set up around the tent area, as we forgot our bug spray.. nice shadey area underneath orchard trees, had power, lights, and water to wash off dishes and drink from. However it looked like it could use some maintenance and especially the public restroom was very uncleanly and we needed to clean up around just to not feel so icky coming out of the shower. I mean there was cobwebs and spiders on every single corner of that bathroom and dirt/grime everywhere and hair in the shower. We had to clean up whatever we could with the little paper towel in there but still left some spiders as maybe they like them and think to them as just another “farm animal”? Also the dogs bark (5 of them) at anyone walking by, and just randomly at middle of the night when they go out to potty.. the earplugs I had on didn’t help.. but then for rest of the night the birds and animals are quiet until around 5am Lol anyways with some maintenance and cleanliness it could be a lot better. But we enjoyed our stay nonetheless.

The place needs a little work to be as accommodating as it sounds. It was a beautiful drive, and wonderful animals on site! There are a few things I wish I would have known beforehand -such as: ants, and lack of shade, being the biggest issues for us. On the other hand, Shanna was -extremely- kind and helpful in trying to mitigate the issues that presented themselves. I would return (more prepared) just due to her hospitality and kindness. Thanks Shanna!

The animals are as friendly as the people there that are able to help. Anything troubling was resolved in minutes. Young children that love animals will be very comfortable here. There is a fun barn to peak in, a relaxing garden to ‘watch grow,’ plenty of shade (and sun too depending on your want), and a range of species of birds that seem to know the rules of the property pretty well. The property and amenities offer good and easy access to a fun time inside (the camper) and outside (as soon as you step out the door).

While we were ok with having animals all around, as stated, the place overall looked like it needed a lot of attention, especially the bathroom. The “hip” in this hipcamp site is lost…

A beautiful property full of beautiful animals; what a pleasure to spend two nights with them! I brought a group of around 30 and there was more than enough space for all of us. Plus it was so convenient to have access to a big basin sink, multiple toilets, multiple grills already equipped with propane, and a hot shower after a day of swimming in the Yuba. Shanna was very welcoming and responsive. I would recommend this experience!

Shanna was a great host - she greeted us, made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She went out of her way to help us secure the umbrellas for optimal shade during dinner, and answered all our questions about her animals patiently. The animals were the highlight of our stay - we saw alpacas, goats, donkeys, horses, pigs (shout out to Hank the pig), chickens, ducks.. it was such a fun stay and for us to unplug. 10/10 recommend and would love to return some day.

It was a great experience at love creek. We get to relax and interact with the farm animal. Definitely a camping experience that we never had before. Host is very nice and friendly.

This was the BEST family camping trip that we have ever experienced! The host, Shanna, was so incredibly welcoming and helpful. There are outdoor toilets as well as an indoor bathroom with a very efficient shower and plenty of light. The gracious hosts provided propane grills, complete with full propane tanks. We had fresh, filtered running water available at our campsite, which we definitely made use of. We ended up not even needing our camping chairs, as there was ample picnic table seating. The BEST part of course was the animals. We got to interact with all of them, whenever we liked. One morning, when we woke up and unzipped our tent, there was a peacock standing right outside of the flap! A kind man who lives full time on the ranch, offered us all a bucket of food to hand feed the animals with. That was our daughter's favorite part! As an additional perk, this afternoon we were able to hear one of the ranch owners playing his guitar, somewhere close by. It was beautiful to hear, and I recognized a few of my favorite songs. My family and I have EVERY intention of staying here again, in the exact same campsite (in the orchard) before winter this year. Our 8 year old daughter said that this was the best family trip yet, and we agree! Thank you Shanna and family, and a BIG shout out to Kiki the cat. Good kitty.

Camp host was excellent. Shanna went out of her way to ensure a very comfortable experience. 20amp power and water were available. The single RV site was reasonably level and grass covered. Shade canopy, picnic table with umbrella, BBQ Grill with propane and site light were provided.

Great weekend at Love Creek Sanctua

It was a busy weekend at Live Creek Sanctuary, I think all the sites are occupied. However there is enough space between sites that noise want an issue. Got into the site, got set up and then caught up with Shanna. An really nice host and fun to talk to. There was the obligatory early morning donkey bray, all day peacock calls and excited horses across the road. Other than that, well set up, great facilities and highly recommend to others.

We loved staying at the farm. As soon as we got in the car to go home my kids were asking if we could come back. They especially loved all the farm animals. I loved that they had freedom to wander around safely. We camped under the shade of some beautiful trees and also used the RV. It was great to experience both options and we would happily come back to do either one. Tip: bring earplugs when the peacocks are in mating season :)

This is a great place for us to have experience to close with animals and nature! My group has 11 people mix with a small kids and big kids ! All of them enjoy this camping experience. Hosts are super friendly and nice too! Highly recommend

The farm was so lovely to camp on! I loved waking up to the animals and even if it rained it was still such a pleasant experience. We learned a lot about the animals there and we got to see them roam around! the campfire was such an amazing feature. thank you Shanna for setting up the canopies and selling us firewood for a great price!!! (all proceeds go back to taking care of the animals). We hope to come back again!!!

We absolutely loved camping in the trailer at Shanna’s orchard! It was such a friendly and welcoming environment-everyone went out of their way to include our two-year-olds in the farm fun. The setting beautiful, peaceful and full of charm. Huge thanks for sharing your farm with us-and a big thanks to the animals for bringing so many smiles! We’ll definitely be back! Fun for adults and kids!

We had an amazing time at Love Creek Sanctuary! The place is super peaceful and perfect for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle. We stayed in the rented cozy trailer that felt just like home. Feeding time at 6 PM was cool because you got to see the animals up close, cows, llamas, pigs, goats, donkeys, a horse and even a blind alpaca. All the chickens, roosters, peacocks, and other funny foul roaming around added to the ‘farmy’ vibe. Hari, our host, was awesome. He went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed, from fresh eggs to starting a fire for us on our last night. It was the perfect ending to a truly special stay. And thank you Shanna for being just a phone call away. And shout out to the rescue dogs I forgot to mention them.
