My boyfriend, Nick and I, decided to rent this cabin for our 6 year anniversary. We are so glad that we did too. If you've been to this area before--you know it's magic. It's less than two hours away from Santa Barbara or LA and it seems like another world. It kind of reminded us of Northern Colorado where dry ranch terrain meets mountains and lush greenery. However, nothing really compares--it's something all on it's own.
Previously when we travelled to this area, we stayed in Pine Mountain Club which definitely had more of a tourist/vacation home vibe. Frazier Park feels local. We're both from small towns in the Midwest so the slow and relaxed nature of Frazier Park reminded us of home. The cabin is located in a residential area, so you do have neighbors to your left and right, but none past the back yard which is National Forest territory. Coming from the city, this location still felt very desolate and relaxing. The neighborhood is quiet and it seems like nearly everyone in Frazier Park are dog people (yay!). The people that we met at the local stores and market were extremely friendly and welcoming. There is a coffee shop on the other side of town which we walked to as well. But, I should provide fair warning that it's quite a bit of a work out walking back up from the coffee shop. It's a great way to wake up though! We also found some walking paths down the street from the cabin and spent a whole day exploring Mt. Pinos. I can't believe we've lived in Santa Barbara for so long and never made it to the summit of Mt. Pinos before. To see snow in April, in California, is truly something else. There were memories made during this trip that we'll never forget. Thank you!
