Urban camping !
Beautiful spot in the hills of San Diego, it is an urban camp spot, so there are houses to your right and left, we were there for one whole week in our rooftop tent and weren’t bothered by either neighbor.
For tent campers the ground is gravel so make sure you have a mat or blow up mattress and I can see it being hard to set up a tent here, (FYI)
Lisa and Phil were great hosts and I will book again if I’m in the San Diego area for work, they offered fresh eggs in the morning and also had electricity up there for us! (Bathrooms down the road about 2 minute drive in the mornings)

More privacy on a roadside
Would not stay here again. Firstly, if you arrive at night the location is pretty confusing since it was mostly coned off from entry. Also, there is NO privacy. People are parked to your right, left, and behind you. There's a two story house to the right with security lights on all night (and about five cars parked in it, people constantly walking around) and a cliff to your left, which you'd assume would allow privacy, except they've pointed a CAMERA directly at the parking spot. Literally, there's a camera watching your car the entire time. We found this very uncomfortable.
If you like to pay $25 to feel like you're being watched with a beautiful view, this is for you. Otherwise, I'd avoid.

Not that private but great views!
Overall this spot is as advertised. The site felt much less private than the pictures portrayed, though, so if you are sensitive to light at night and/or ambient noise from the sweeping cityscape below you may not feel cozy here. The views from the site and the hike across the street were pretty spectacular 🙌🏼

What a great little place to camp. The road is steep and there is indeed a little dip to the gravel pad.....bit very cool to be able to chill there for a few days. No worries about anyone messing with your site either....it's far out if the way.... thanks so much !!!!

Amazing urban camping up the craziest hill you’ve ever seen — feels like you’re literally at the top of the city. Perfect level spot, good for our small camper van. Felt very safe. Dictionary Hill hiking trail is right across the street. Lisa was very responsive to messages and requests. If you’ve gotta be in SD but want to feel like you’re in nature, this is your spot!

A view from the top!
Lisa's set up a great little spot with all the hookups you need right there. It's located at the top of a big hill and the view is amazing, especially at sunset.
It's quite steep to get down to the parking pad - my backend is quite low and I have hitch that's even lower, so it was a bit of a struggle, but I was able to parallel park on a level spot at the top.
I also appreciate that Lisa was very responsive when I had questions.

Stunning panoramic view of greater San Diego from this spot; we’ll marked, hillside park across the street (good for dogs). Spot is at the top of long, steep hill - your rig will groan all the way up at 4mpg, but so worth the journey!

Lisa's spot was just as advertised....beautiful view close to the city. The pad is level and not really difficult to get onto. We have a 170ext Sprinter and it wasnt a problem at all. She even has 50 amp power, water and a sewer drain that she let us use. Highly recommend!
