Our property is 142 acres located on the top of east Cuesta grade, elevation approximately 2100. We are secluded enough to feel like you're far away from city life but in reality only 20 minute drive to downtown San Luis Obispo. The main road up continues past our property and turns into the Los Padres National Forest and is very popular for hiking and biking with locals. We also have private trails within our property. We have a farm consisting of 10 sheep, 10 goats, 30 chickens, 2 pigs, 4 dogs, a cat. Interaction with farm animals may be possible upon request. Most campsites are close to our animal pastures. Guests have enjoyed having a morning coffee in the company of sheep and a couple of pigs on the other side of the fence. Bee hives are located on the property as well. Honey, eggs and firewood are available for purchase. :)

I can’t express how awesome this property is. If you’re running on solar this may not be the best choice, you should favor The Range, but you could easily fit multiple tents here for a relaxing weekend

Shaded, remote, with a view
This camping spot was absolutely beautiful and everything I wanted! Remote and in the wilderness, shaded by trees, yet near town...with a view to boot! A plus that there was access to hot showers and on a farm where we could hang with animals and buy fresh eggs. Karina was super responsive to my questions. Some people may find the roads getting there a little daunting, better for cars that can go off road or don't sit low to the ground.

Shady Oak
Good property, less good site
The land at this campsite is beautiful, and the overlook about a mile walk up a steep mountain is gorgeous. However, the Shady Oak site is really just a road behind old hoop houses. There was a ton of animal scat on site upon arrival and a bin with stagnant water. I would absolutely stay at any of the other sites at this property, which I saw on my way up to the overlook. However, I would not stay at this site again and did not feel that the photos accurately depicted it.

Truly beautiful view and sunset was otherworldly. Just be aware that it is quite exposed with limited shade - something to manage on hot days. Overall wonderful spot, however. Great shower as well on site.

Campers, stargazers and birders!
Karina and her husband were absolutely amazing hosts. They not only had places for us to camp but also water pump, toilets and even a shower! The view from our site was outstanding and well worth it for seeing all the stars at night. Additionally, as a wildlife biologist I enjoyed listening to the various birds in the morning and seeing many other animals while there. If I get the opportunity to drive up again to this area for camping. I will more than likely do so with Karina.
