SoCal Camp on Kern River
A nice spot on the river. It’s far from most sequoia hikes but a good place to go if you wanna chill by river and do some of the less well known hikes in Sequoia National Park. It’s a bit pricey for camping but a unique experience.
I did request and pay for a twin bed but didn’t receive…

SoCal Camp on Kern River
Fun river floating campsite
My friends and I had a great time at SoCal Camp (Fri-Sun). My favorite part was the river tubing -- it was gentle stream and helped cool everyone off in the 100 degree heat, including our four-legged friends. The bathrooms and showers were clean. The showers were private but you could also see the mountains and open sky while showering which was really relaxing. The hosts who provided us the river tubes were very friendly and helpful as well!

But it’s a dry heat…
As some have pointed out in their reviews, this place has a misleading listing. Tents are not actually near the water, there are more tents than expected, and they are about as private as a high school locker room. Best for large groups to rent out entire camp sites. Some highlights: great stargazing, and comfortably large beds.

Camping in Kernville
It’s just ok. The only think different from the usual camping with amenities is having a bed, pillow and sheets. Hot showers not working but it’s still ok, it feels refreshing after a very hot day of adventure. It’s a self- check in, they give you a campsite # and lock code in which I don’t understand , is for. Because I just zip the tent up with am in. The lock might be for security if the ropes and ties are still working to secure your stuff. Overall if you just needed a place to stay for a night is perfectly ok. Falsely advertised for a kitchen, it’s doesn’t have one. So just bring your own personal stove and cookware.
Family Tent, King and Twin beds
Good experience but pricey
Thanks to our host for being very accommodating, though the web version seems a bit misrepresented. Thought the restrooms would be closer to the tent. And more shower facilities. These beds are very comfortable though. It worked out great for our family of four. The tent cabins are closer to each other than they appear, and the restrooms and showers are great facilities; really clean and easy to use (though it’s more convenient for A and B, than C and D). It was unclear how far the river is from the tent cabins. So upon arrival, we got to explore. There are stakes with rope to guide you down from the bluff. There is no shade so bring your pop up tents if you’re hanging at the campsite during the day. The highlight is a full night’s rest in the comfy beds!

SoCal Camp on Kern River
Great glamping on the river! Tents are spacious, very clean and stylish. Bathrooms are super clean, and showers are warm! A path takes you right to the river, with good spots for wading and fishing. No shade up at camp during the day, so I’d recommend bringing an easy-up if it’s going to be warm.
We had a big group, rented out a bunch of the tents and we all had a great time! Would recommend!
