I purchased this land outright a few years ago to save it from being overdeveloped by foreign real estate developers. I was not going to open it up to the public at all, but I realize that in order to truly protect this land, and the flora and fauna that live on it I need to allow some guests so that the awareness is raised of how valuable true nature really is. Also I need to continue to exercise my easement rights by allowing people to access the land otherwise I could lose access and McMansions could be put up in place of this truly sacred land. This land is truly a treasure, and although I do own the property 100% free and clear, I humbly see myself as the temporary steward of the land until the time is right and I can place the land into a permanent Land Trust as part of a larger Nature Conservation project. So thanks for being a part of it, and helping keep one of the last bastion's of nature safe from exploitation. Say hi to the hummingbirds for me while you're there ∆

Hummingbird Mountain ∆

The entrance is a little tricky to find, but you will find it, one of those things where you may have to drive by slowly a couple times looking for the right place to turn, don't lose hope! When you find the spot, you'll be secluded in the mountain and I set up camp behind one of the giant rocks for extra privacy. You can look down at the valley below and see for miles - by evening the clouds rolled in and I was just on top of the mountain in the clouds. Bring a tarp to set down before putting your tent down and maybe some extra cushioning for underneath your sleeping bag- depending on where u set up your tent, there may be rocks. This is primitive camping so make sure you pack out any waste that you bring in and keep it nice for future campers!! Really peaceful spot to unwind and relax, there are hiking trails right down the road too.

Hummingbird Mountain ∆

What an incredible spot! For the record, unless you're planning on parking at the bottom and hiking up the hill for tent camping, you'll keep a high clearance vehicle or 4X4 to get to the top of the mountain. Luckily we had a camper van. It's a very special, quiet spot at the top of Topanga Canyon overlooking the ocean, downtown, and the mountains. This is not a party spot. This is a quiet sanctuary to be peaceful with nature. As it is exposed, it's very important to be quiet and respectful of the neighbors as sound does carry. If you're looking for a peaceful escape, this is your spot! We thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back! Aaron was super great discussing logistics with us last minute remotely.
