What an incredible camping experience for our Girl Scout troop! The hosts help create memories with our girls, feeding animals, getting to know the farm cats and dogs, "racing" horses, jumping on the trampoline and swinging on the swings, with on tents set up on soft grass and the hosts incredibly responsive to our communications via the app (quick to respond and act).

We booked here because we couldn't find any other availability for the Labor Day weekend. If you like camping, this isn't the place for you; it's like putting a tent in a backyard. If you like horses, this is the place for you. The kids had fun and it was a positive experience. The owners were very helpful and kind with us and the kids.

We had a wonderful time at Hirst Horse Ranch. The area is beautiful and the kids had so much fun tent camping, riding horses, jumping on the trampoline, running through the sprinklers and learning about the different plants and animals on the ranch. The hosts were amazingly friendly and the kids instantaneously felt so comfortable around them and asking them questions. We hope to come back again soon.

This was the best family experience! Learned horsemanship, riding lessons, kids played trampoline, petted all the animals, learned about them and husband was thrilled we were all well taken care of by the camp host family! We will definitely be back to enjoy for longer stay!

Horses were beautiful

The property was lovely and big but the site 1 was a bit deceiving as it's right in their front yard... I'm not sure where you could have more sites... The horses were beautiful,lovely and kind... I loved visiting with them. Unfortunately I've grown up riding my whole life and didn't feel it worth it to pay the $50 to ride when I'm an experienced rider. For what we paid, I would have hoped that would have been a bit less in price. The flys are really bad there but that's to be expected with all the farm animals. Next door to the site there is a property with a kennel with puppy's about 10 ft from us who barked all night long and kept us up a lot which was disappointing... I found it ironic that they ask that you don't bring dogs that bark yet the ones next door went all night and then their ranch dogs (which were super sweet) barked right along with them.. I had to get up and tell everyone to quiet down around midnight... The puppies didn't quiet down.. The host Justin was kind and showed us around as we got there. Didn't hear much else from him after that ..His wife was friendly and super talkative which was nice. We talked horses a lot as I helped her feed...They didn't bother us at all or interact much...it would have been fun to be able to interact with horses more like washing (since it was so hot) or brushing or something even on the ground.. if you don't have kids there is not much to do there honestly... Overall it was ok.

Family fun!

We all had so much fun camping next to the horses! Justin and Christina made a wonderful weekend for us with our two young kids. They enjoyed the pony rides and the trampoline over a sprinkler (it was hot for us Bay Area people), along with being around the horses, dogs, chickens, and frogs! We’d definitely return, and are already planning to visit our new horse (and people) friends at the renaissance fair!

Hirst Horse Ranch never disappoints

Another wonderful weekend on the ranch. My wife and son opted for an evening horseback ride and watched the sunset while out on the ride. This gave me time to play on the swings with Logan Hirst. A perfect break after the drive and setting up camp. Justin and Christina are wonderful hosts. The whole family really makes you feel at home.

Spring Break at The Hirst Ranch

Wonderful family getaway

We absolutely love coming to visit this delightful horse farm. The hosts are so friendly and welcoming. We come with our 3 kids and they just love the swings, the horses and the trampoline. We also got a horseback riding lesson and the host/instructor is just magical with both the kids and the horses.

A Magical Experience

My family and I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Hirst Horse Ranch, and we were thoroughly impressed by the exceptional hospitality and expertise provided by Justin and Christina. Unfortunately, our stay was all too brief, and we would have loved to have spent another night under their care. From the moment we arrived, we were treated to an unforgettable experience, thanks in large part to Christina's remarkable approach to horse psychology. Her kind, compassionate demeanor put everyone at ease, and her ability to connect with both the horses and our family was truly remarkable. As someone with a deep understanding of the parallels between teaching horses and humans, Christina's insight and expertise were a revelation. We were struck by the realization that the skills and patience required to teach horses are remarkably similar to those needed to communicate effectively with people. Following our horse-handling session, our daughter had the opportunity to learn from Justin, whose exceptional teaching skills were evident from the start. As a seasoned educator, Justin's calm and attentive approach made our daughter feel completely at ease, and she was thrilled to have created her own artwork by welding old horseshoes. Overall, our time at the Hirst Horse Ranch was a heartwarming and enriching experience that has left us with lifelong memories. We are eager to return and continue exploring the many opportunities this amazing ranch has to offer. Thank you!

Wonderful!

Hirst Ranch does not disappoint! We had wonderful stay and took advantage of the extras and spent some time in the shop with Justin welding up our sons name out of horse shoes. Despite the reported hot weather in the area, the farm had a nice breeze in the evening and was pleasant.

Amazing Experience!

I express my deepest appreciation for the time and effort Justin and Christina dedicated to make our camp fun. I was there with my girl scouts troop and took horse riding lesson as well. I felt at home as the host was not restricting us to move around freely. Kids could swing, jump on the trampoline or just simply take a walk to watch the beautiful ranch. We hope we treated the place with respect.

Camping on a real family farm!

This is our second visit to the Hirst Horse Ranch and we are already planning to come back. On our last visit our son did a horse riding lesson, this time he forged with Justin. Nice location. Nice camp site. Awesome family.

Farm camping experience!

A glowing review for a great tent camping experience. From the moment we arrived Justin, his family, and their animals welcomed us. We travelled with other families and used site 1 as the base for cooking, eating, and camp fire. The site is big enough for a 6 person tent, 4 tables, and +10 chairs. There is firewood available for camp fires and a clean bathroom with flush. The farm has so many areas to explore. The kids built many memories playing and said it was magical. Do not miss out on horseback riding with Christina. Only wish we lived closer to be trained by her! We brought dogs and they enjoyed it. Note there are dogs and cats that live on the farm so make sure your dog gets on with other animals. Be mindful of your pet when on the farm. Can’t wait to come back next year.

Justin and his family were great hosts. There were a lot of activities for the kids to play and we enjoyed the seeing the horses, chicken, dogs and cats on the property. Justin was proactive and informed me of their family gathering ahead of our stay. I highly recommend this camp site. We loved it so much that we booked another trip for the summer.

One of the best Hipcamp experience. We packed so much in a weekend getaway. Horse riding lessons at night, tractor initiation for kids and a great camping spot in the orchard! The hosts are extremely friendly and flexible. Highly recommend.

The hosts were super accommodating! My 5 year old son had a great time doing a pony ride. This was my first trip in this rig. We arrived late and needed a jump but Justin and his family were super kind. Highly recommended!

What a wonderful family oriented experience for my daughter and I. Justin and family couldn’t have been more kind and accommodating. My daughter was able to do a pony ride, help look for eggs and wander around the farm with other kids. We’ll certainly be back.

GREAT Farm Life for my City Kid!

Not sure where to start but I will say that my 3.5yo was devastated to have to leave at the end of the trip, lots of tears having to return home to the real world. Justin and Christina were truly the best hosts, they were so welcoming and didn't seem to be bothered when I would talk their ears off. They treated my daughter like one of their own kids, she got to help with chores of milking the cow, feeding the chickens, gathering eggs, feeding the horses, grooming the horses, etc. She loved playing on the swings and in the tree house. We all got to ride the horses and Christina was amazing at training us, well beyond the basic "pony ride" she really teaches connection with the horses and her horses are so amazing they didn't get spooked or annoyed when my young daughter made loud noises or ran around them. My husband got to weld a cool horseshoe design for my daughter's room so we have a nice keepsake of the weekend. The 2 farm dogs and 3 barn cats were super friendly and enjoyed all the love we gave them. The RV parking site is very convenient and Justin was able to help us with both parking our trailer and with pulling it out when we left since we are new to RVing. The farm next to the parking site has goats and geese so that was fun to see also. Since there is no sewer dump it was fantastic that they have a studio apartment where we could shower and use the bathroom. Easily one of our best vacations with our daughter, we can't wait to return. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We had an amazing time and the Hosts are fantastic. They were really accommodating and helpfull. The kids did a pony ride, we felt really lucky to have Christine as an insteuctor, she was amazing with the kids. We are looking forward to go back. There is enough space for the kids to play around.

A Hirst Family Holiday!!

First and foremost, The entire Hirst family was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived they were super helpful in helping us maneuver and back in our massive 5th wheel. Their daughter showed our kids around the entire property with all the animals and fruits and veggies. They were friendly, generous, accommodating. It was really a joy for our family to spend time with theirs. We were so sad to leave and absolutely cannot wait to go back.
