One of the last remaining undeveloped parts of Southern California, De Luz Heights is located adjacent to the Cleveland National Forest, and the Santa Margarita River (just a few miles from the campsite). This 12-month flowing river is the only one in Southern California that has never been altered or dammed by humans, and features a state-managed hiking trail with many water holes along the way with clear, clean water to dip into. On my 60 acres, there are no roads going through or next to the property. My land is 13 miles from the Pacific ocean and enjoys a relatively mild yearly climate. Giant boulders provide topographical relief and offer platforms from which to enjoy the view of the nearby Santa Margarita Mountains. The valley views are filled with olive groves, vineyards, and horse ranches. The campsite embraces all the comforts of "glamping": a hot shower, composting toilet, beds with sheets provided, gas grill with a stovetop, pots and pans, kitchenware, a sink, picnic table, shaded deck, sofa, lounge chairs, and propane fire pit. The basics are provided: toilet paper, paper towels, purified drinking water, towels, sheets, cooking oil, etc. Campers need to bring their own blankets. I've created a network of hiking trails for especially fit hikers looking for a more rigorous hike than the nearby Santa Margarita River Trail. My trails lead through creek beds, over boulders, through rocky crags, with views of the Pacific ocean on a clear day. Hikers on my trails need to wear proper hiking boots with good traction. Sections of my trails will require bouldering with hands and feet. Expect to have fatigued quadriceps, some scrapes, and a sweaty hat brim.
The campsite is accessible with a two-wheel drive vehicle; I drive a Kia Forte out there regularly. However, some tips when driving a two-wheel drive car: when going uphill on a dirt road, try to keep some momentum of about 12-15 MPH. If you stop and try to start again, your tires will spin out. If that happens, just reverse down the hill, and try it again with more momentum.

Hilltop Lodge Tiny House
Beautiful views, very functional space. One can tell Chris has done a lot of work to make this hipcamp a great experience. We are already talking about going back. Perfect for a couple (with a dog), close tho Santa Margaita River that gave us hood access to hiking and cooling off in the river. Thank you Chris for the directions and video.

Off Grid Glamping
Love it. Love it!! First of all Christopher is very quick to respond and communicates well! Second, his off grid glamping site is wonderful. You will do some off roading to get to the location! You will find yourself in a very relaxing place hidden in the mountains. I don’t hear the busy city! You can see the stars at night!!! That alone made it worth it! But camping was so easy when Chris already had everything set up for the guest! Awesome experience. Looking forward to going back :)

Hilltop Lodge Tiny House
Chris has such an awesome set up. He thought of everything. I was worried when we saw it was supposed to get in the 90s during our stay but the lodge gets such a great breeze it was perfect. I think that bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in so it was a huge upgrade from our normal tent camping.

We loved Dome Home!
We had such a great time staying at the Dome Home! It was exactly as described, and made for a very comfortable stay. Definitely make sure you're there for sunset--the view is gorgeous! We also appreciated the privacy--you could see Christopher's other hip camp property in the distance, but that was it. The kitchen is well stocked with lots of dishes and basics and the grill works great--we were able to make a really nice dinner. The propane fire pit puts off a lot of heat, and there are lots of great spots to sit. We brought our sleeping bags and pillows, although there were sheets and pillows there too. The outdoor shower and composting toilet were clean and easy to use. We loved the twinkle lights at night too. We would definitely stay again! If you're not comfortable driving on slightly rough dirt roads, you might not like the drive in, but we were totally fine in our Subaru. Christopher was extremely communicative with us the entire time, which was great. The town of nearby Fallbrook is very cute--we enjoyed a local beer and wood fired pizza at The Mill and stopped by the Santa Margarita Preserve. Temecula is close by too, so lots of options to enjoy.

Great place to getaway
We had a fabulous time! Loved all the amenities. All the fun of camping but it also has an amazing king bed and plenty of places to hang out! Can't wait to go back!

Perfect local weekend getaway! Had some rain and sunshine but was still a comfortable and fun stay during both types of weather. Shower and toilet were easy enough to figure out. Kitchen had everything we needed. Had fun with our jeep on the way in and out. Our dogs had a great time too!
Hope to come back with some friends some day!
*Highly recommend hiking the Santa Margarita trail
