Harris Family Farm and Forest

Jane is a wonderful host! Her farm is picturesque and ready for a Hallmark film! The camp site was perfect and heavily shaded. The night air was perfect! We loved our stay!

Camping with yummy pies

We had a great time camping at Harris Family farm. The fresh fruits and pies available for purchase at their bakery shop were yummy. We love the communal fire pit. You get to meet some of the other campers there. We stayed at the stargazing site. We had our tent under the apple trees. Jane is an awesome hostess. She answered questions we might have.

The site was very spacious easily fits multiple tents, we had a party of 10 and had lots of room. The farm was lovely, everyone loved going down and buying drinks, pies, and donuts. Host was very friendly and their dogs would occasionally stop by our camp to say hi. Our site was at a bit of a slant but nothing terrible!

Our toddlers loved the farm

This is a great family-friendly spot. Our group had one young child and two toddlers. The farm has fun kid activities left out for kids to explore. The campsite itself had tons of space for the kids to wander around without having to worry too much about things like poison oak. Nice place to relax and just enjoy the company you’re with as there’s not a whole lot of activities you can do without having to drive away from the campsite. The farm sells delicious mini donuts and takes Apple pay. Jane and everyone on the farm is friendly and helpful. The only downside is the port-a-pottys.

Great family-friendly spot

We had a great time at the Harris Family Farm and Forest! It was a perfect camping spot for our crew, which included four adults, two toddlers, and two infants. The campsite was large and pretty secluded under the redwoods (also shady!). It was conveniently located near lots of fun outdoorsy stuff, as well as near a Safeway and CVS. Other fun bonuses were the farm cats, the tasty treats at the pie shop, and the communal toddler-friendly toys. Our only constructive feedback was that the potable water was a 5-minute trek from the campsite and the listing said jugs were provided, but they were not.

Quick Getaway

Upon arrival we did have an issue finding site #3 as it seemed to be the only unmarked site. Once we settled in it was very cozy, other sites were nearby but enclosed in brush and trees so we felt secluded. We use a tent with a sky gazing top and the canopy was just open enough to see the stars as we laid in bed. The Host, other campers and cats we encountered were all super friendly. Fires were not permitted during our stay so we participated in the community bonfire and had a lovely chat with a few other campers while making smores. The apple cider donuts in the pie shop are SO tasty! Trails to wander just behind the campsites. Light sleepers beware, you do hear the light hum of the distant highway all night, few cars pass by the road near the campsite too, but not an excessive amount. The porta potty is not made for tall people, felt a little claustrophobic in there, but overall it was a good stay! I would recommend.

Site 1 - Camp in the Apple Orchard

Amazing stay as we with two young kids and a campervan and got there late at night. Hot coffee in the morning along with toys and space for the kids to play was awesome!

Site 4 - Sugar Pine Campsite

Overall we had a great time. The campsite is nice and off the street and we loved staying. Site 4 is pretty sloped and not a great spot to put a tent, especially if it's a larger tent. Would choose a different site if it's available.

We had a great time camping at Harris farm! The campsite is tucked away in the trees, but close to town if you need anything. Camp 3 has a good flat spot for 2 small tents or 1 big tent.

I’ll preface this by saying this was my first time using Hipcamp so perhaps I had different expectations of what is considered a campsite, especially one that I’m paying for. The campsite really wasn’t a campsite. It felt more like we were just pitching a tent in someone’s yard. There is zero privacy from people coming and going to visit the farm and the site itself was entirely downhill. The hosts tell you to get a campfire permit, as required in California, but there are no pits in the “campsites.” This could also be my mistake because the listing does indeed say communal campfires (the farm hosts them). However; I received an email as well as within the listing itself that we’d need a permit to have our own campfire. So that was kind of misleading and a let down. All in all, we made the best of it. The sounds were beautiful at night, the donuts are a must in the pie shop, and we have a weekend of memories. Aside from the owner’s dog marking its territory on our camp gear, it was an okay experience. I’d be back for the donuts.

Fun Memorial Day in the Woods!

We loved camping at Site 2 at Harris Family Farm. There was lots of shade with very clean bathrooms (with toilet paper & seat covers) and hiking trails nearby. The site also had a picnic table, couple of chairs and trash bin. It was an easy walk across the street to the farm shop, which had delicious pies & apple cider donuts (fantastic with coffee)! The campsite was not level, but this is well documented in other reviews, we were prepared with leveling blocks. Site 2 was quite spacious and can easily fit 3 cars. Jane and her family were super nice & helpful! We will definitely be back!

Overall had a good experience. Porta-potty bathroom was clean. However it did seem like site 3 was a little less well kempt than other sites, and the ground where we pitched our tent was a little uneven - hopefully something that would be easy for the hosts to fix by leveling out the ground a bit.

The tent camping on Jane's land was awesome! Its tucked away, and surrounded by trees, but not too far from her farm or civilization. The entire campground was very clean and so were both porta potties. It's pretty quiet most of the time- the campground is by a road, so you hear cars coming, but its not bad. The campground is also near a creek woth a flat trail that branches off into a couple other trails, which is very nice. My husband and I went there with our 2 dogs and were at site#2, which was very big- big enough for 3 to 4 tents. Lots of fun! Jane and her staff was also very friendly and very accommodating! We bought some goodies at her farm and they were amazing! Thank you Jane, for your kindness and for letting us camp at your campgrounds, its beautiful!

Come for the awesome campsite, stay for the delicious freshly baked donuts. I loved where this campsite is located, beautiful trees, and very nice trail to walk. Across the street is the lovely farm. Jane is very nice, she told me all about her dogs. I picked Campsite 5 based on previous reviews. I would absolutely stay here again, especially at campsite 5. It was just me and my son, but there was plenty of room to add more tents and not feel crowded at all. Each site has a picnic table, a couple plastic chairs, and a fire ring. They even provide fire wood. Port-o-potties are kept clean. My son appreciates the free wifi. I will be back with the rest of my family and hopefully a longer stay. Thank you to Jane and her family for being wonderful camp host.

We had a great stay at the farm/forest and would stay again! However, the main host was out of town which left us waiting for someone to show us our camp site for over half an hour. The pie shop was also closed which we were looking forward to. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay and would love to come visit again in peak season!

Site 4 - Sugar Pine Campsite

The cutest farm! We stayed at campsite #4 which was a great space for 2 large dogs + 3 adults but definitely is on a slant like others say. We loved the trail right behind us and the ports potties were kept nice and clean! The farm was also a great and cute visit! & def grab some apple cider and donuts! We super appreciate the folks at the farm (car battery died & they thankfully had jumper cables!!!), Mosy the farm dog is a must visit too 🐶

Apple Hill Orchard

The orchard site (#6) was very pretty. We would opt to camp on the other side of the street next time, however. There was a lot of dog poop in the orchard/parking lot. The black dog who lives there barked for multiple hours in the evening, but luckily the owner brought him in at night. It was a good place to explore Apple Hill.

Site 4 - Sugar Pine Campsite

This was our 2nd time camping in this same spot. We love the little farm and the sites across from the orchard offer lots of privacy. The spots themselves are just a little more than a clearing on private land. But that's fine with us. We use this as a spot so we can spend the whole day enjoying Apple Hill.

There was no level area at site 4, as shown online. The surrounding woods were amazing but messy with loads of down branches and large pieces of wood every where. The out house was the cleanest I’d ever seen, but was unwilling to take the trek up a wet muddy hill to use at night. The property is beautiful, some leveling and clean up would make it an amazing place to stay.
