The standout feature of this location is that it is a meditation retreat a lot of the year, so there are a lot of peaceful, centering details around it. This area is a great undiscovered gem, I've lived in Southern California most of my life, and although I've driven Pearblossom highway many, many times, this was my first time exploring those pretty mountains in the distance. I love how you get to see so many different climates when you come from the Pearblossom route, and you don't have to worry as much about road closures, snow, etc. We stayed in one of the smaller cabins, with electricity, heat, and our own bathroom, all surrounded by towering pine trees. It was incredibly relaxing. We went hiking, checked out the small lake nearby, and watched the ducks and other birds. Cell phone reception was pretty limited, so be sure to plan ahead for that, but honestly not getting texts and emails is part of why we do this.
