This campsite offers a peaceful respite with stunning views and a cozy atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing getaway. Guests appreciate the well-equipped cabins, complete with all necessary amenities, making it a comfortable stay. Many reviewers found the host, Ken, to be attentive and helpful, enhancing their experience. However, the proximity to the highway was noted, occasionally disrupting the tranquility.
I really wanted to dip my toes into camping and thought this was a good intro! I brought the essentials- pour over coffee, my fav kitchen utensils and pans; I love to cook so even when I go to Airbnbs I bring half my kitchen 😭. It was my dog and I first night and my mom joined for the second. She fell asleep in the afternoon in the chair she was so relaxed 😭. I would say if someone has difficulty with stairs and mobility issues, this would be a hard stay. I was worried about the heat but AC unit was great and nights cooled nicely. I loved just relaxing with a book and wine away from LA.
The perfect little getaway! Great place to disconnect… but not too much🤣I love being outside, but still enjoy having a shower, stove, AC, and nice bed to sleep in. This was the perfect mix of the great outdoors and comfort! Ken’s place was clean and had everything we needed to hunker down and enjoy the space. We felt so isolated and at peace without being too far off the grid!
Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone! Thanks, Ken, for a beautiful stay!
Such a cool escape! Beautifully designed, peaceful, and amazing views, especially sunrise. Perfect California glamping vibe—rustic, stylish, and cozy. Loved it and would definitely come back!
The stay was very pleasant, it was a nice weekend get-away. Everything was very cleanly and thoughtful. The land was gorgeous and the area around was fun to explore. The only thing we weren't a lover of was how close the highway was, but other than that it was amazing!
This is SUCH a gem. Absolutely beautiful, the kitchen has everything you’d need, the cabin is clean and cozy, the shower is a dream and easy to control, they even have the compost toilet situation down!
The views were fantastic. We went on a hike suggested by Ken close by and it was just what we needed.
Ken was such a responsive host, gave us plenty to do near by, and made the trip very relaxing.
Will 100% be coming back.
Glamped at Eagle’s Nest, it is the highest top from the last 3. Absolutely, worth it and very cosy. I thought bathroom outside meant having to step out the front door but luckily there is a backdoor inside the cabin into the outdoor bathroom! I enjoyed it so much! Mini fridge/very tiny freezer compartment. And, the cabin sits on the north east side so you get a good glimpse of sun ray when the sun rises! ABSOLUTELY WORTH VERY PENNY, if you’re a morning person lol i loved it!
The perfect getaway for my dog and I. The entire property is thoughtfully planned out, clean and organized. Ken had the AC running for me prior to my arrival which was incredibly nice on a hot day. I will definitely be back. Thanks Ken!
Spent an amazing night at Eagles Night. The cabin was really well thought out and beautifully set into the hillside and rock formations. We were looking for a place to spend a night under the stars on our way down to San Diego from LA and couldn’t take our camping kit with us. This was the perfect alternative. Everything’s provided. Just need to bring food and drinks.
We needed a get away. -You don’t need to bring much, everything is pretty much there, I brought some rigatoni and just reheated for dinner. Took our dog and she enjoyed the place as much as we did. Ken’s place is well designed and serene which made our stay wonderful and restful.
Really loved staying at Ken’s Black Cedar Cabin. We just wanted a quiet place to escape the fireworks on 4th of July weekend but got a much more serene and relaxing weekend than we were anticipating! It’s just up the hill enough to give sweeping views of the valley, with a lovely view of Mt San Jacinto in the distance. You can tell Ken built this cabin with love, it had a lot of nice details that make the stay cozy, like the bathroom light for late night runs, the perfect elevation of the cabin for a beautiful view, and the maintenance of brush for privacy and shade. Really hope to come back!
I loved camping at this site! It was quiet, the views were incredible, and bit more luxury than tent camping while still feeling immersed in nature. The space was very organized and the outdoor shower is amazing!
Super cozy and clean the cabin feels brand new. Great shower and bathroom setup and unlimited propane was a huge plus. Would definitely recommend even if your just passing through
We enjoyed our off the grid experience at Black Cedar Haven. Dog friendly, beautiful views, and all the amenities we could need. Ken's hospitality and communication made our arrival, stay and departure stress free. Accommodation was very comfortable. We had a great time.
Beautiful, clean and comfortable accomodations with all the comforts of home! We loved the porch with rockers and fire pit. Private and wonderful view!
Amazing views, comfortable stay, romantic and private. Had everything we needed to cook & be comfortable - I'm buying that 3n1 coffee - yum! Loved the en-suite composting toilet and full shower - very convenient. Ken was communicative and accommodating. We would definitely stay again!
Granite Mountain was an incredible escape! The views, sunrise, and sunset were breathtaking. So much so I proposed here. The cabin is easy to access from where you park and has everything you need. Ken was an excellent host, he was very responsive and made sure everything was taken care of. I would highly recommend!
This was a wonderful stay! Ken really thought of everything with the cabin design, outdoor kitchen, and cozy fireside seating. It’s convenient for passers through; close to the road, but also very private. Gorgeous mountain views from bed!
We loved our stay on Ken's land. The cabin was clean and well-stocked. The environment was peaceful and serene with gorgeous views. We also couldn't have asked for a better host. Ken was communicative, warm and welcoming and offered fabulous recommendations for nearby attractions. We are grateful for Ken's hospitality and our time at Granite Mountain. We can't wait to return!
My mom and I came to relax at Granite Mnt. for two days. Ken was an amazing host, communicated promptly and was extremely responsive. Granite Mnt. cabins are beautiful, set amongst manzanita trees and huge boulders. Although I didn't have my children along, I could imagine that children would have an amazing time climbing boulders and chasing lizards. The site is private (although we were the only visitors there) with a beautiful picnic table in the manzanita trees. As soon as the sun goes down beautiful lights turn on to create a beautiful ambience. We moved from the porch to the table to the fire pit. The bathroom and shower is in the cabin, which was great for my 78 year old mom (who made it up the hill)! The cabin is perfect for two people. As in southern California we could hear traffic from the nearby road at certain times of day. That was the only little bummer, but I am a stressed mom so always looking for quiet. I would return in a heartbeat.
The lodge itself was so clean and cozy! Despite it being small, you really do have enough space inside to comfortably have two people inside. Bathroom was nice for a compost toilet, and owner is very kind and willing to change it out if need be! Shower got nice and hot after a couple mins and towels were provided! The view is gorgeous, waking up to it is so refreshing. If you’re looking for a simple, quiet place to get away for a night, this is perfect. My only complaint would be there’s no curtains or blinds, but there’s generally no way anyone outside would be able to see in due to the plants around the lodge.
We had an amazing stay at the Eagles Nest cabin at Granite Mountain. It’s located at the highest point of the property, and while it requires a short uphill hike to get there, the views are absolutely worth it.
The site is incredibly well-designed; the three cabins are spaced out so you never have to walk past another guest's space, offering great privacy and your own dedicated outdoor area. The cabin itself is a glamping dream—equipped with electricity, AC, heat, and water supply. Having an attached bathroom with a wonderful hot shower was the perfect way to end a long day outdoors. Truly a wonderful getaway!
Our specific cabin was nicely secluded from the other cabins, and it was very quiet and tranquil there. The outdoor fire pit, the propane gas stove, and the outdoor toilet and shower were excellent additions to the camping experience. The cabin was a little smaller than we expected, but still manageable for two guests. It was nice to have electricity and a small personal space heater.
I stayed at the cabin on Granite Mountain during January. The cabin was cozy even in the cool temps and was spotless. A tiny heater that Ken provided warmed up the space quite well, but I was glad that I had brought slippers to wear in the cabin as the floor was still a bit chilly. I also brought slip on shoes so that I could easily take my shoes on and off when entering and exiting the cabin and I was glad that I did. Although Ken provides the basic kitchen supplies, I wish I had brought a quick dry towel and/or some paper towels to make cleaning dishes a little easier. Another consideration is that the site has uneven & steep ground, so you will need to be very careful of your footing - especially at night. The cabin was beautiful and easy to find and the bed was very comfortable. The only thing that I was a bit disappointed about was the traffic noise. Other than that, I highly recommend.
The camp site was set up great, everything i needed was on site. Easy to find even in the dark. Ken made the check-in and check-out process fool proof. The site felt secluded enough but was close to everything. Really great way to get away from everything. Super clean comfortable. Would definitely come back and check out the other sites or stay at this site again.
Such a cute spot! It was raining while we were there, so we’ll have to come back for the full experience. Great instructions and communication by host. Thanks for having us :)
Ken is a attentive host. The Black Cedar Haven cabin was cozy and peaceful, even in cooler weather. My pup enjoyed exploring campsite and trail to parking area.
