Our time spent at Gaia farm was phenomenal! The views, especially during sunrise and sunset, were spectacular! Amanda was extremely helpful and gracious towards us the entire stay. She was very responsive and went well out of her way to make sure that we were accommodated. I would absolutely go back and would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique stay along the California coast line!

What an amazing place to camp. The views from the top of the mountain are breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset. The working farm adds such a unique touch I had a great time learning about the animals and even got to hold the baby goats! If you stay here, don’t miss the guided tour of the farm. It made the whole experience unforgettable.

Great hospitality! The site was well set up and had a great view. I loved the animals, especially the dogs I met! Also, I left with a dozen farm fresh eggs…I would definitely recommend.

I'm so lucky I found Gaia farms - the location is stunningly beautiful, the accommodations were cozy, Amanda was generous, friendly, kind, and I got to hold a baby goat! It was truly a special experience. I cannot recommend a visit enough and hope for the chance to return. We stayed in the yurt, enjoying privacy, quiet, comfort, and VIEWS! The pictures can't even capture how gorgeous the views were. We watched the sun set pink over the mountains and ocean, saw shooting stars all night, and then the clouds settled below us at dawn. It was perfect. Thank you for sharing this place with us, Amanda. <3

The Sky Yurt
My friends and I agreed that there’s no more beautiful place to play card games and cook Mac and cheese than this yurt! Amanda was the most kind and welcoming host. Don’t miss out on holding a baby goat or buying some goats milk lotion or soap, these additions really made our day! Such a special place, we feel so lucky to have stayed a night here. So worth it!

I loved everything about this stay! The amazing views, warm hospitality and fun farm visit made this a treasured day for us. We loved this camp site! The host, Amanda, was super welcoming and made us feel comfortable upon arrival. Amanda and her family are located on what is truly the most magical pocket of the Gaviota coast. At night, the stars are so bright it feels like you're in your very own planetarium. We even saw an insane comet (fireball??!) in the sky during our last night!!! Even though other people were staying near us, we never felt overcrowded. Amanda was super considerate in spacing out her guests so that we each felt like we were enjoying the coast all to ourselves. Would 100% recommend this site and we hope to come back again soon!

The Sky Yurt
The yurt was in a stunning location and hosted by such a welcoming family. Amazing views and awesome rock formations, just up the mountain from a great beach. Beds were super comfy cozy, outdoor seating area great for taking it all in. Plus, baby goats!!! This was our very first Hipcamp experience and it was overall awesome. And the farm-made goat milk soap smells amazing.

We had the absolute best time at Gaia farm! The yurt was gorgeous. It was spacious and had everything we needed. The views and smells of the land were spectacular. The animals were adorable and sweet. The food and products available for purchase were high quality. And Amanda was a spectacular host. She was always ready to help us and her kindness shined through. Her and her family’s love is visible across this beautiful property. All of us agreed that we had to come again. The perfect bachelorette weekend!

As others mentioned- Amanda is such an incredible host! I came with my husband, 3.5 yo toddler, and 1 yo son within about 24 hours of booking for a late summer overnight camping trip! They both LOVED it - spectacular surroundings with the walk (try to pack wisely and strategize your trips from your car to site 😅)
The winds were definitely kind of intense for our tent (I highly recommend everyone to strap their tents down and be prepared in case you bring a burner for food)🙏 from sunset to late night, but aside that, we certainly appreciated the gravel/rocks for our tent set up and the fantastic view. The farm tour was incredible and educational; we’ve been on farm tours but this felt so personal, special, and heartwarming to our family.

Amanda’s site was clean and well maintained on the family homestead. It’s a short walk from the parking area at the farm down to the site. The night we stayed was dry, warm, and calm - great full moon views of the pacific from the site. Would recommend!

The best view of any HipCamp I have stayed at so far. Massive view of the ocean and the Channel Islands. We also had a surprise Vandenberg rocket launch on a super clear night with crazy stars out. It was amazing. The surrounding Chaparral vegetation was beautiful and some really cool little rock formations to climb around on.
One thing to know, and this one's on me because I did not pay attention to the site description, but I was a little surprised when we found out it was a bit of a walk from the car to the campsite. Not far at all but also not right at the car. It was totally find but just something to be aware of when planning what to bring to your campsite. Overall we had a great time and would definitely recommend Amanda's campsites to other campers!

It was amazing to stay at Gaia farm! The campsite was quiet and beautiful and overlooked the ocean and we did the animal feeding and learned a lot about biodynamic husbandry. The cool bonus is we got to watch the launch of a Falcon 9 rocket which was pretty epic. Overall a 10/10 experience

This was probably my favorite camping experience. I originally booked this trip to get my partner into camping and it worked. We stayed two nights and during that time we held a 5 day old lamb, a 3 hour old piglet, toured the farm and saw tons of animals, slept under the stars, and we got to see a SpaceX satellite launch right before bedtime. Not to mention the views from the campsite itself are incredible.
Amanda is a very warm host and we felt very comfortable staying there. We purchased literal farm fresh eggs and granola that was fresh out of the oven (highly recommend purchasing the granola, it's the best I've ever had). I'm not sure but you may be able to purchase other items from the farm itself.
FYI, this isn't exactly car camping. There's a short walk down a trail to the campsite, so you'll have to carry your stuff down. There's no faucet at the campsite, but Amanda does provide a jug of potable water to use.
Because of the way the mountains around Goleta are shaped, the town and surrounding area is subject to high winds about an hour or so before and after sunset. The temperature drops significantly and then warms back up later on at night. We didn't have an issue with it since we knew about the winds ahead of time. I recommend making your dinner a couple hours before sunset so you're not dealing with trying to cook in high wind.
Once the wind dies down the campsite is calm and you can hear the crickets chirping. We had such a peaceful night's sleep.

What an incredible experience! As others have noted, the views are unmatched. Even the drive up the hill had us pulling over to take photos.
The only thing better than the camp site is the hosts. I'd mentioned a special request, had to cancel and rebook, and added an order of the goat milk soap and eggs after my reservation, and the hosts were completely helpful, friendly and responsive the entire way through. We were even given a list of places to visit after our camping stay, which lead us to a bakery with the BEST bagel sandwiches that we have ever had in our lives! Plus the farm animals, the one-of-a-kind geology you'll be surrounded by, and did I mention the views? We're talking heights that will have you floating above the clouds and fog, looking down at hillsides that meet the Pacific Ocean. What a treat Gaia Farms and Amanda and her husband were! Book while you can!

Stunning views. You can see the ocean in the distance and at night the sky is full of stars. The host was friendly and walked me to the site when I arrived. Overall a great place to escape the city for a short trip.

The Land was beautiful. The first day of summer was unbearably windy .There is a windmill on site so it sounded like a helicopter non stop 😆...peace and quiet out of the question. Pulling up to your camp to unload is not an option with no safe trail to wheel your camp gear also not an option. We didn't even get to camp because of all these factors. Unfortunately a waste of time and money. Camp ground needs more work on safety and weather information as far as letting customers know about these potential weather factors. We were excited and so looking forward to our stay only to leave and stay in our car late at night with no rooms available as we headed home . It was a rough trip .
