This 150 acre slice of heaven contains an isolated private ephemeral stream that has run the last two years from January to July. Located down a narrow bumpy dirt road off of Highway 94 Dutchman Canyon is at 1300 feet above sea level, The temperature in Dulzura remains nice year round. There are many Oaks, Sycamores, Eucylptus, Pepper and Pine Trees on the property. The fire road has been cleared to the top of the grade and a slight ocean view is available down the Otay Valley Road view line for hikers or mountain bike enthusiasts. A hiking trail has also been cleared to a stand of Eucylptus trees on the hillside with a pond area at their base on the west facing slope. The Dulzura winery is located across the valley and we are only 1/8 mile from the General Store of Dulzura. The Tecate Border crossing to Mexico is 10 miles south of the property. Located a few miles west of Deer Valley we have deer in the canyon year round looking for fresh water from the ephemeral stream. A 19th century concrete cistern holds water year round at one location in the stream bed.

Great time in Dutchman Canyon! Enjoyed the scenery and the sunset hike. Would love to come back when the creek is running. I’m sure it’s that much more gorgeous.

Nice spot. Lots of choices.
Nice spot and Phillip was a nice guy. There are a few spots to camp on his land depending on what you are looking for. The spot we chose was the highest on the property. It accommodated our setup nicely. Water was provided for putting out the camp fire at the end of the day. There was also a compost toilet and a table. Views were nice. There was also road is a little narrow and the approach trail to this camp was a little steep but we were able to go up no problem with no wheel slip in a 2wd Tacoma. We would like to come back again in the spring when the water is running. Thanks Phillip for sharing your land with us!

Mr. Phillip was very nice and informative for the camp site, he help us with water for the camp fires and the site is very quiet and family friendly place to get away from city life and technology. Nice hiking trail and beautiful views. I enjoy this special time with the family without stress of the outside world. Thank you Again Mr. Phillip

North creek
Phil was very communicative and friendly. Met me right on time on his property. I will say that my full sized f-150 fit on his trail but took a but of a beating by branches hanging over the trail, its a truck so im not upset by it bust just a little warning. The site was as advertised, im sure in the fall when the creek is flowing it would be really beautiful. You are pretty close to other sights but you have plenty of space. I had an emergency and only stayed one night instead of the planned two, but enjoyed my stay and would recommend it.

This is a really amazing place! The views of the surrounding mountains are gorgeous, especially at sunset, when the whole place has a red glow. It's super peaceful and far away from everything, and you truly feel like you're in your own little oasis. I highly recommend this campsite!
