I tent camped at Karol's place for three nights in early December. I love the view of the mountains and the overall sense of calm there. The outdoor shower, sink, and toilet offered rare comfort on my travels. I enjoyed chatting with Karol. As an earth-conscious, moon, and star-gazing enthusiast, she has a clear and inspiring vision for her land.

Clear directions, level sites and nice fire pits. But the absolute best part was the view!! We drove in at night and woke up to the most beautiful sunrise view. We would totally stay here again. Just what we were hoping for and more.

Serrano De La Luna is such a special place. I felt so safe and nurtured on the land. The facilities are well taken care of, there's a community fire, a pool and Karol is an amazing host!! Go and enjoy this place and the dark sky! :)

Best camping ever! Karol was a wonderful and attentive host who went above and beyond to make sure all our needs were met. The location is also very beautiful with great stargazing and the amenities were very good. The camping area was also very clean, safe, and quiet

Pool Side Sunsets - Site 4
Karol’s land is a perfect oasis close to Joshua Tree National Park. Karol was a great host and went above and beyond to make sure my stay was memorable. Great amenities with the hot shower and restroom and a nice communal fire pit. Would 100% stay at Karol’s again

We loved our stay at the Birdline! It has a clean flushing toilet, sink, and even an outdoor shower with hot water. It was so convenient to cook/wash dishes. Michael also has a BBQ that he kindly let us use. Community campfires were super fun. The location itself is great for star gazing. If you are looking for a quiet time in the desert away from the crowd, this is your camp!

Another lovely stay at the bird line! We were greeted by Micheal and a nice fire. The outdoor bathroom, sink, and shower are all really great features—very clean and beautiful design. I always feel so at peace here. Thanks for creating such a beautiful space and sharing it with us!

Secluded yet easy drive away from JT attractions and Mojave. Michael was attentive and helpful. Shower, toilet and shaded hang out area with outlets were welcomed amenities after being on road for days.

Four friends and I had a fantastic few days camping at The Birdline. The location is amazing, and Michael is a wonderful, highly-organized host. He has created a great aesthetic with the custom-built and renovated facilities, and provides for all a camper's needs. Michael knows a lot about local hikes, towns, day trips to Joshua Tree NP, etc. Five stars!

A perfect gather place for people to catch up on life and have some good quality time together. You can beat the big starry nights and the site has everything you need to have a memorable event. Close to some great hiking locations as well!

My friends and I had a great time at this site. Michael was very friendly and easy to contact for our last minute reservations. The accommodations were clean, well maintained, and nicely designed. Thank you for the wonderful fire pit and overall experience. We would definitely recommend and stay again!

We had a great stay here at the bird line! It was only my second time in the area as my boyfriend and I recently moved to california from Florida. We absolutely love Joshua tree and are in awe of the desert. The property was beautifully located in the raw desert with a view of the mountains. Michael was very welcoming and helped us get settled when we arrived after dark. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the bathroom and shower/sink area. The fire pit was lit through the night and there were some other friendly campers on the property as well. We had a lovely time!

Micheal was a great host and greeted us as soon as we pulled up to the campsite. the amenities (toilet, sink, shower) were all very clean! although we only stayed one night, we had a great time here and would definitely come to stay again.

Micheal was a great host! He greeted us even if we arrive pretty late. Our Camper Van got stuck in the sand and he kindly help us to get it out. The bathrooms were very clean and the campground pretty private and isolate. We will definitely repeat! Thanks Micheal!

micheal is an architect, not just of structure, but of community and nature. he’s designed a such a unique gathering space in wonder valley to foster connection within and with each other. micheal was the consummate host. he had lots to share, from his story and ethos, his designs and art, to tips to forging your own trail in the sheephole valley wilderness. with his vision, he’s created something truly wonderful. be sure to gather around the nightly fire, bask in the desert dawn glow, and soak in the hot water outdoor shower.

We loved staying at The Bird Line! Everything was perfect and Micheal was super accommodating. We especially loved the outdoor shower and open air “throne.” The hammock hut was awesome too!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Bird Line! Michael gave detailed instructions on how to get there, and even though we got in a little later than planned, he was there to greet us once we arrived. The site itself was easy enough to pitch our tent on and was the perfect distance from the shelter (in terms of privacy and accessibility). The amenities provided (in particular, the bathroom and kitchen) were well-maintained and very appreciated. All in all, this was a wonderful spot and Michael was a delightful host. Would highly recommend!

I really enjoyed staying here and felt very safe. The campground is small and each site is well spaced! My dog had plenty of space to roam and do dog things :) Michael is a great host and I met some very nice people around the community campfire which Michael provides every night. The desert views and stars are beautiful. I can’t wait to go back!

The space was beautiful and perfect for our tent camping get away. Micheal was a great host. He helped us find a place to stargaze in a granite hot tub just a few miles away and places to hike nearby. The facilities were gorgeous and it was the perfect nature medicine we needed.
