I didn’t need to bring a canopy as there is plenty of shade or chairs which were already provided was nice. This was a nice not far from home getaway. You’re not far off the main highway but it still feels secluded. You can sleep in a tent but also jump in your car and go to a cafe, bistro, or market 5-10 minutes away if you wanted to. I think my spot at the moon lodge was the best as you’re tucked in a nice corner by the stream and the mountain. Lisa was very sweet and accommodating, we were the only ones there when we went to it was nice to have the place to ourselves. She has dogs but they were so well trained they didn’t make a peep the whole time we were there. She even has a rooster that Lisa let us feed which i loved ! Bathrooms were clean but you have to walk outside of the property to get there. The equalivent of maybe 1 street block give or take depending on where you are. Which is not uncommon for camping. I 100% recommend this spot of your looking for something local. :)

Lisa was a really good host. She was super friendly and welcoming and made it easy to arrive unassisted. I brought my two young daughters and they loved swinging on the rope swing and exploring the dry creek bed. We had a nice propane fire pit. (No real fires allowed). And when we needed bug spray I drove 5 minutes to pick it up and come back. feels removed from LAand yet not at all removed from civilization.

Beautiful Topanga

Lisa set us up again for an amazing visit to her place this past weekend. We had warm heaters and clean bathrooms and made full use of the amazing space. The kids had a great adventure with the swing and running through the trails on the hill. What's great about the location is with how easy it is to get the central are in Topanga. On Saturday afternoon we took a field trip to the coffee shops, restaurants and had a great hike at Red Rock Canyon Park thanks to a recommendation from Lisa. We will all be returning back to Lisa's again this summer.

The location of Lisa's camp is great, there are coffee shops in walking distance but it still feels very remote. Lisa met us at the gate and let us stay in the glamping site because no one had reserved it during our stay. It was nice with seating areas and the toilet. This was a great place to stay nearby LA without being in the city.

My daughter and I had a lovely time on Lisa’s magical land! After camping under the shade of the trees in Topanga Canyon we drove 15 minutes to have a beautiful day at the beach. What could be better? Lisa was a fabulous host, with lots of fun stories about the property and recommendations for things to do in the area. Don’t just take my word for it, here is a review from my eight year old: Five out of five stars. I think it was amazing. It was an awesome experience. There were so many things to do. There were so many animals. I love the kitties and the doggies. I also love the Robin, the rooster. And the flowers. I loved it so much and I wanna go back every day.

Close to LA, but what a great experience! Lisa is a super friendly host. My son and I had a great time hanging out here. He especially enjoyed hanging out with the rooster, 2 kittens and the dog. The weekend we were there, hot during day, but nothing that a short drive to the beach didn't solve. Nights are also relatively cooler, but we were comfortable with a standard 3 season tent, and sleeping bags.

Loved our 1 night at Lisa's glamping site! The beds were sooooo comfortable, the teepee was clean. The gas fireplace was awesome to hang out at in the evening and great to have since woodfires were forbidden/fire risks at this time of year ( AUGUST). The little dining table and chairs were also super comfortable to hang-out in in the slow morning.... WALKABLE!!! What's great was that we could just walk to the Topanga Living cafe for breakfast AND to the REGGAE on the MOUNTAIN festival 🥳. BASICS: No shower at this site and I believe no water, so bring your own extra water/shower setup to wash-up!! The toilet is a porta potty, stacked with toilet paper and hand sanitizer + small water faucet to wash hands. Worked for us. WEATHER: In the shade of the big oaks, we were super comfortable, not too hot at all..., it was perfect :) We stayed from like 7pm to 11am. BUGS/ANIMALS: Did not get bugged much. Lisa left a bug spray but we did not have to use it. No mosquitoes.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary at Lisa’s glamping site. The location was perfect— a short walk from Topanga Living Cafe and other cool spots, but still immersed in the forest with lots of plant life and critters. Being next door to Lisa’s house made us feel very safe, and she was so kind to us from the time I booked the place to the time we checked out. The site includes a large tent with a comfy bed and lots of blankets, two small lanterns + fairy lights along the outside, a shaded dining area, and a fire pit that we enjoyed in the evening. Highly recommend Cross Bull Ranch and we hope it won’t be our last visit! ♥️

We were excited to spend two nights up in the magic of Topanga canyon. We had a hard time finding a private camp ground that was kid friendly but the listing boasted all things family friendly. The listing said there were showers (for an extra fee we were willing to pay) but we were not able to use them. She offered a tin wash bin and fresh water but when I went to get the bin it was full of old shoes, used wash rags and rust. Im sure property was stunning at one time and has seen a lot of love, bliss and musical moments. There is a rich history but has not been kept up. The tree chandeliers are quite broken. An open shipping container full of furniture right in the middle od the campsite. We opted not to stay a second night There is a beautiful communal fire pit in front of the house. Lisa told us that she had just been cleared by the fire marshal to have a fire in the evening but that she had to be present for us to use it. As the sun was going down I text her to ask if we could help gather wood. She said she was too tired to come out and it was not happening. There was also a large broken mirror and glass around the fire pit that needed to be cleared before the fire we almost had. She has a beautiful/very large and excited puppy named Luna who is kept on a long leash close the bathroom. We love dogs but our younger kids could not get over there without Luna jumping all over them. Lisa did move her when asked. The cats and rope swing were fun. Clean bathroom 👍🏼

Amazing stay! Lisa was incredibly hospitable and made our stay perfect. The glamping tent was exactly as we had hoped it would be. It was clean, bed was comfortable, campfire area was lovely, and a nice shaded picnic bench for us to drink/eat at. 10/10 would recommend!

Lisa was a great host and we really enjoyed our time at her place! It’s very peaceful place in the Canyon and it was a great place for my wife to hang out and cook dinner for the evening and spend the night. I even forgot something and she helped us out. My wife is not always a big fan of camping, but Lisa even Went out of her way to let us use her bathroom and shower, which made it super easy and pleasant as well!

Beautiful Land, Great Weather

We opted for the glamping tent set up on this site, and it was the most beautiful glamping set up I've ever stayed in. They truly outdid themselves. Not only was the actual land lovely - like a home away from home - but also the accommodations were next level. We felt welcomed by Lisa who was the perfect host! All our needs were met. Beautiful land, great weather, elegant sleeping arrangements, and fantastic host. We are from LA and wanted a "staycation" - the fact that this is so close to LA but you feel like you're fully immersed in nature is so awesome.

We absolutely LOVED staying on Lisa's land. It was quiet, lovely, and green. The glamping tent that was set up for us was a 10/10 experience! It felt so luxurious - she even left us a bottle of champagne. Lisa is the sweetest host - super accommodating and welcoming. It was a lovely, rejuvenating stay in nature. I would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a cozy yet elevated getaway!

My wife and I were looking for a "Glamping" site as part of a weekend motorcycle trip. This came up on the list and looked like a nice place to stay, and it was FAR better than we expected. The host was amazing, the tent was well setup and warm enough for us to sleep in and being right on a creek, you get to listen to all the night animals. For us we even had an owl who was having an argument with another animal, it was really special. The site was well setup, the firepit was a nice touch to sit outside in the evening with some ambience, and the road getting in & out was gorgeous as well as fun on a bike. We had breakfast at the cafe across the street in the morning (easy walking distance), and the food and coffee there were absolutely fantastic. Overall a fantastic experience I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a night(s) away from "the regular grind".

Camping here was a great experience. Our tent was next to the creek and it was a short walk to a nice clean bathroom. The camping host, Lisa, is friendly and accommodating. It was also great to have access to a hiking trail and a cafe right from her property. This is a really great place to stay.

We had a great stay on Lisa’s beautiful property during a recent bikepacking trip! It is such a tranquil spot in Topanga, perfectly tucked away yet just steps to the Living Cafe (which was so good!). We would love to stay longer next time, to hike the trail on the property and explore more of the area. Lisa is a lovely host, made us feel very welcome. Thanks so much, Lisa!
