We are a family owned/operated ranch, located along the Cosumnes River, one of the last un-dammed rivers in California. As one of the last rivers flowing from the west slope of the Sierra without a major dam, the Cosumnes is a vital example of a healthy watershed. Our goal is to offer a unique outdoor experience for anyone looking for a place to spend time in the great outdoors. Whether you're looking for a single campsite, or a place for a larger gathering, we're excited to have you visit! Take your pick of activities available on site: swimming , gold panning, fishing, camp fires, wildlife watching, floating, hiking, and mountain biking to name a few. There are 3 miles of river to explore. Private and noise free. Porta potties on site.

Site 4 - Sawyer's Bar
This was my second time using hipcamp and this spot was off the hook!! There was a beautiful river with a swimming spot for dogs and people all ages!! If you’re into fishing there are safe and easy spots to climb on the rocks and fish for small mouth bass!! But do beware that there is a small little current and some big rocks in some parts so be careful but have fun!!

Site 10 - Rowan's Camp
A river runs through it!
Thank you Rachael and Tom! Site 10 is the only walk in I learned and perfect for us, and those that want a little more privacy. Careful of the poison ivy that litters some of the site. Bring water shoes, the rocks can get slippery. Delightful getaway, certainly considering coming back with a larger group.

Site 3 - Sawyer's Bar
Site Sawyers Bar #3
Beautiful Site! Big beautiful Oak tree to keep you cool in summer months. Partial sand and rocks, rocks helped keep the sand/dust down. Quick access to water which the kids loved! Can float tube down river with hitting some mild/med rapids. Kids had a blast.! My son and husband caught about 40 fish total (smallmouth bass and green sunfish) in the river. Caught 1 largemouth bass at the pond. Beautiful scenery, hardly any people, and sound of river at night was magical! Definitely would come again!

Site 5 - Sawyer's Bar
A New Favorite
My fam of 4 with 2 toddlers had a fantastic time tent camping at Sawyer’s Bar #5 for 2 nights. Plenty of shade throughout the day with lots of white noise from the river. The site isn’t sandy, but rather covered in very loose dirt which surprised us a little, but after we excepted the dirty state of our kids, all we could talk about was how wonderful the place truly was. A perfect hike up to the lookout and then down to the swimming hole by the cabin was just long enough for our kids. Beautiful scenery, almost completely to ourselves. Wild blackberries and grapes, and we spotted frogs, lizards, a young buck, doe, possible bobcat?, lots of hawks. The swimming hole near site 1 was serene and perfect for young kids. Beautifully clear water that was the ideal temperature for wading. The ranch itself is very well maintained. We’re all looking forward to our next stay here! We can’t thank Richard and Rachael enough for sharing their slice of heaven.

Private River Front Group Site
Mermaid Splashdown 2024
We tent camped for our 21st Annual Girls Camp. There were 17 of us, and we all had a wonderful time. The group site is perfect. The river is just amazing. The Camp Host was very helpful and friendly. We all can't wait to go back.
