Lovely site great hiking and swimming, cabin was great, bed comfy. One addition I'd like to see would be some hooks/pegs to hang up towels, clothes etc.

Wow what an absolutely beautiful property. Rachel and Jon are very kind and helpful. We enjoyed a few hours of hiking around the property. Loved seeing so much wild life and the sweet cows that graze around the property. I can see why summer would be a more enjoyable time to visit.
We stayed in cabin # 2 and although a very beautiful spot and cabin, For the $480 for 2 nights price I was surprised there wasn’t sheets/blankets or a propane stove or bbq or some way to cook food. so make sure you bring anything necessary to cook food and linens and blankets for the bed. There is a fire pit outside but no grill or way to cook food. It does have a wood stove inside as a heat source so make sure you also bring firewood especially in the colder months.

This was our second time camping at Cosumnes River Ranch. The river is amazing. The campsites and spacious and private, and even when the weather is hot the river valley provides a shelter from the heat. Tom is a very friendly and knowledgeable host, and the porta-potties are clean!

Great view, running river close the campsite and several miles off the main road. Really felt like being out in nowhere, which is what I wanted!

Exceeded our expectations! The swimming hole was beautiful and the river was great for kayaking. It is shared with the other cabin so it’s a great spot to get with friends and rent both out. We got lucky and the second cabin wasn’t occupied. It is very private and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. There was a portable toilet really close which was super convenient! We went to the pond near by and caught a couple huge bass! It sure is a hidden gem. Can’t wait to go back!

Once again we had an incredible stay at the river! I’m hesitant to recommend this place to others for fear that it will become too difficult to visit our favorite place. I think site 18 is our new favorite— perfect for a group of adults and a dog!

A remarkable property, swimmable river (at least in September it was), and excellent privacy in the sites we saw make this a real gem.

We camped at site #4, a shady site on a small rise at Sawyers Bar. It’s a little above the Cosumnes River, but a short walk from a common area swimming hole with small beach. The swimming hole is delightful in mid-September.

Great campsite! Secluded and has great views. Portable toilet was really clean and smelled amazing the entire trip. Good fishing at the river and swimming hole was perfect for swimming and kayak activities. Dogs loved it as well.

Site 22 Turtle Rock
We love Cosumnes River Ranch! This was my second stay here and my sister’s third, and every time has been wonderful. On our previous trip we stayed at one of the overlook sites, and just like then, this Turtle Rock 22 site was clean, well-kept, and easy to enjoy. The port-o-potties are always spotless when we arrive, which is a huge plus.
Rachael is amazing—responsive, kind, and very accommodating, which makes the whole experience even better.
The only downside with this particular site is that it doesn’t have a beach area to lounge on, and the river here moves too quickly for our dogs to safely enjoy the water. Thankfully, we were able to use the beach at another site nearby, which worked out nicely.
Overall, Cosumnes River Ranch remains one of our favorite getaways, and we will definitely be back!

Beautiful scenery with easy access to a great river for playing around in. Enough distance between campsites for quiet at night. Hosts were responsive before our stay and checked in with us in the evening. Hope to stay here again!

Site 6 - Rowan's Camp
Our family had an amazing late summer experience - hiking, swimming and enjoying this beautiful ranch in Amador County along the Consumnes River. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. For swimming, Tom recommended the Swimming Hole at Sawyer’s Bar, which was perfect for our six year old - a nice sandy beach with little to no current in the shallows. The campsite was spacious and clean with lots of shade and plenty of space between other sites, which made the site feel very private. We visited with a travel trailer and thought the dirt road to the campsites was well maintained when we visited. We cannot wait to visit again!

What a wonderful gem of a place! The easy access to river and the calm, peaceful surroundings were a perfect way to spend the weekend. The river current was calm enough to float around all day long and enjoy on a hot day. There are wasps that joined us during dinner time (both evenings) so definitely be prepared for that. The porta potty nearby is also very clean and well maintained.

This is a beautiful place!! So peaceful and serene. This site is super private, port-a-potty was super clean and the host stopped by to check in on us shortly after we arrived to make sure everything was good. Will definitely be going back!

I would like to gatekeep this campsite, but it’s just too good and would want other friends to experience the amazing-ness of this property like I did. Such a fun time being right next to the river and being able to be absolutely alone was 10/10. We were able to find the location just fine, set up, relax, enjoy cooking (with a couple bees of course), relax in the river with our tubes and soak in the sun. There was surprisingly no one near us, which was another bonus because the toilets were so clean and it was such a quiet & relaxing night! We’ll definitely be back! Such a special spot full of memories now.

Consumnes River Ranch was a treasure! The property was beautiful and our site provided shade and private river access that was just what we hoped for. The hosts were lovely to work with and helped us navigate the trails and important details about the property—as well as the best directions for supply runs. We will definitely come again! Thank you!

Organized a group of 4 families all with kids under 6 to camp for Labor Day weekend. Everyone had a blast splashing around in the river during the heat of the day. Definitely would consider going back another time!

Wonderful site! Very spacious, private, and the river was stunning. It was great to have a mix of shallow spots to put our seats in the water, and also deeper areas to enjoy a swim. Hosts were kind and easy to communicate with. Site was very clean, even the portapotty was clean.

Site 3 - Sawyer's Bar
We’ve been to Site 3 twice now and it is definitely our go to camping adventure! Site 3 is large and is half shaded and half full sun. The shade area is covered by a large oak tree providing enough room for an 6 person tent, large kitchen/cooking area (we had two long tables set up), picnic table and two vehicles. The sun area has a large playground feel; we had 7 kids who ran around playing football and soccer while they weren’t playing in the river; which we had private access to from the site. We were about 4 minutes walking distance to the larger beach area where there is a large swimming hole. We highly recommend and will be going back annually!

Site 8 - Rowan's Camp
We had an amazing stay at this campsite! The cold river was perfect for a refreshing float on warm days. Our spot was private with plenty of room to spread out and relax. The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The area was free to explore, and nights were wonderfully quiet.

We stayed in sawyers 2a- fantastic private swimming area for the kids. Extremely hot and sunny- we were fine with two shade tents but you absolutely need them. Kids caught lots of fish, it felt very safe, dogs came along no issue. Would recommend, just bring some shade!

$90 seems expensive, but if you are looking for quiet tranquility. . .this is it. Zero road noise. Beautiful river in the sunlight, amazing darkness for stargazing!
We came all the way down from the Kenai Peninsula on the Cassiar highway and from Neah Bay on the 101. This is the only spot we camped that was far enough from the road to not be disturbed.
