Cold Creek is a unique 112-acre property in the San Bernardino National Forest. Because of its location in a 3,200 foot elevation, it's colder than the Southern California deserts and warmer than the cold mountains above us. Our temperatures rarely exceed 90F and rarely drop below 40F. We have plenty sun and about two to three days of snow every winter. A year-around creek keeps everything green and fresh around the year.  We are the second owners since 1913, and operate a small organic orchard on the property. We are most famous for our honey, peaches and figs, but also grow apples, pears, persimmon, blackberries, greens, bay leaf, white sage and more. For years , we were WWOOF hosts (look it up ;-) and resisted opening up Cold Creek to traffic associated with daily camping arrivals, but we finally found the perfect spots for visitors to park their RVs, spend a quiet night and visit the orchard by foot. We are now excited by the prospect of focusing on expanding our micro-farming and inviting campers to look over our shoulders.

Okay spot
Host was nice on the phone. We checked in very late no problem. Never saw the host. One morning the gate was seemingly locked without notice from host. Tried to go talk to host and all phone numbers were going to voicemail and honking near the houses (as written on paper notices on the home) yeilded nothing. We went back to the gate and the lock was actually open but it looked locked. The site is flat hard packed dirt. There are animals nearby (groundhogs, squirrels, etc) we saw a bush get eaten from inside the ground in front of our eyes. You can hear the cars on the nearby road so bring earplugs since cars never stop even at night. It's private if the second campsite is unoccupied otherwise the campsites are pretty close to each other.

Quiet, private and simple
Quiet private property nestled on the mountain side just off the main road. Definitely use GPS to get to the property or your message, and if you do, you’ll have to travel 6 miles up the road to turn around and come back down. We drove a 30 foot motorhome down the dirt road on their property. The Terrain looks difficult but it’s manageable if you take your time. ‘Daniel showed us around the orchard. We had a great time

If you need a quaint place to camp for the night on your way to Crestline or Arrowhead, this spot has a beautiful canyon view. Daniel, our host, was very friendly, responsive, and accommodating and willing to show us around the property. We slept in our rooftop tent and camped out of our car. There are no amenities so just be sure to bring everything you need. :)

Nice little spot
This place was cool, the people were very nice and helpful. You're nestled in one of 3 campsites which are off the road to the orchard between some steep manzanita filld hills. Very pretty, the campsites seem to be a new addition to their operation and I imagine they will only get better with time. I'd stay again.

Nice parking space at a good price
It's not quite clear from the description but there's basically 4 parking spaces fairly close to each other just down a dirt road next to the highway. We were luckily to be the only campers that night so we had our choice of parking space. You get a pretty nice view of the hills from the spot. We were there in the winter so the orchard looked more like dead trees but I'm sure it's nice in bloom. The property owners have lots of projects going on but they nice enough to let us stretch our legs and wonder around a bit. They have 2 friendly wolf dogs. It would be nice to have a campfire but we got strong winds the night we stayed so it's understandable why there was a fire ban. I would stay here again.

Awesome stay!
We rented an RV and camped at cold creek for a few days. The scenery was great and while it's relatively close to the city (only 15 minutes away from the heart of san bernardino!) It feels just as remote as crestline or running springs. The property was set far off the road which was great for privacy and just getting to enjoy nature. Daniel was very helpful in answering all our questions.

Had a wonderful overnight stay at Cold Creek. Daniel was very easy to communicate with. Not much growing right now at the orchard, but looking forward to returning next spring/summer/fall. Excited to see how they will expand the property in the future. Can get windy, but our site was the most protected. Great home base for exploring other areas like Crestline, Lake Arrowhead, Running Springs, and Big Bear. Mikaela, who lives on the property, was very friendly and helpful. The two resident dogs were also very sweet. My son loved feeding them walnuts. Will be back.

Not very accommodating
This RV site does not have any hook ups and is basically a space to land your RV on . If you are looking for more accommodations that is not the place to go .

Wonderful hosts! Typically an RV spot but they also had a really nice primitive camping area available :)

A very exciting adventure
Very private. Mikaela was fabulous. She took time out of her day to give us a tour of farm and since it was fall, we were encouraged to sample the ripe fruit.

What a beautiful piece of property! We were the only ones staying so felt like we had the whole mountain to ourselves! If the other spots had been booked, you’re definitely close together without much privacy between, but not more so than at a normal campsite (this is definitely the best spot though of the four). The views are beautiful and although you’re not too far off the main road, the sound does not carry significantly. Mikeala met us and was so friendly and accommodating. The kids LOVED getting a tour of the farm and picking apples and figs to buy and take home. My son gave it a 10/10 recommendation. We’d love to come back and stay another time. Thanks so much for having us!
