Tent camping under the stars #2
Had another relaxing and amazing time camping on Chris' land - she and her husband (and dogs!) are just so wonderful, we loved catching up with them before starting our camping adventure. Rain or shine, the land, the camp spots, the hosts, and just everything about the place is indescribable - you just have to go and experience it yourself. Spending time out in the peaceful desert was the perfect way to close out 2022 and start the new year.

Beautiful property with views!
We loved this property! The campsites are spread out so it feels very private. The view is so pretty right from the campsite. Chris provides some really nice and useful amenities. She brought us wine and eggs to welcome us. At the site they had a outhouse just for our campsite (one is at each site) so you don't have to share with other campers. There were other cute little amenities as well. The ground is nicely groomed and was great for our dogs and kitten to enjoy. No paws were injured! We enjoyed hiking in the BLM land behind her property and didn't see anyone out there. We will be back for sure!

We had a fantastic stay on Chris’s land! Beautiful view. Definitely bring a shade cover if you’re staying in the summer months. However the breeze feels great and it cools off in the evening to the perfect temperature! We’re looking forward to coming back soon!

Fantastic campsite! Great hosts! The campsite was in a beautiful location, with a fantastic view of the valley. Perfect for stargazing at night! I really appreciate the thoughtful touch of a nice bottle of wine and fresh eggs. We had an outstanding time!

Perfect LA getaway
Chris is such a wonderful host. The sites are thoughtfully laid out so you have space and privacy to enjoy nature. Our pup Lincoln’ had a wonderful time too. Oh, and the farm fresh eggs she provides make for a killer breakfast. Great getaway from from LA for a weekend!

My fiance, two dogs, and I had a ton of fun during our stay. The site was clean and had everything we needed between the fire pit with supplied firewood, the table for our food and supplies, cook shelf for our kitchen items, and toilet area. We thorougly enjoyed the wine that was supplied on arrival! Thank you again for making us feel welcome and cared for.
The area itself was huge and had plenty for us and the dogs to explore. It definitely helped that we had the whole place to ourselves but even if there were other guests staying with us, we would have more than enough room for all of us to explore and play without leaking in to the neighboring sites.
We recommend this to anyone looking for an amazing experience away from the loud and busy streets of the city.

Loved it!
Can’t say enough great things about spending a weekend here. Chris was a wonderful host and her wine and fresh eggs were an added treat. The campsite was immaculate with amazing views and plenty of secluded space! Sadly we missed the wild flowers but can’t wait to return next year. A drive through the Carizzo Plain is a must! A place we will be returning to many times in the future. Thank you Chris for your amazing hospitality!

Camping with the coyotes & rabbits
We really enjoyed spending time on Chris’s property. It was very clean and she brought us fresh eggs and a bottle of wine. We ordered the firewood and definitely had enough for the two days we were there. There is a nice dried river we hiked in and explored. Make sure to bring a pop up tent, the sun can be pretty strong. She provided a little restroom, nice picnic table, fire ring and great scenery. We highly recommend this place and will be back, thank you Chris for your hospitality!

We loved the friendly attention. Awesome quiet location.
There were other campers there but we couldn’t see them.
Chris provided basic amenities plus wine and fresh eggs. She had great recommendations for local restaurants and stores.

If you're looking for a quiet place to enjoy Southern California nature and the outdoors, this is it! Chris and Troy are as friendly and knowledgeable as can be, and their land and the adjoining national forest give you endless opportunity to explore. At the end of a long day hiking in the back hills, you can cook a great meal over an open fire and have the Coyotes sing you to sleep. Tough to beat that. Don't forget to stop by the Santa Barbara Pistachio Company on your way out for a big bag of local Pistachios!

Amazing location! Close to Los Padres National Forest for hiking and exploring. The site itself had a vast area to explore and the sunset/sunrise views were beautiful. Amenities were much appreciated. Easy drive on the dirt road and campsite signs were easy to follow. No cell reception so make sure to map ahead of time!

Perfection
Personally I think this place is what camping is all about. Nothing fancy, no cell service, no running water, no people, no city lights. The host is nice enough to give you a basket of eggs from the chickens you see running around when you first arrive. There’s also a little bucket porta potty for every campsite, a table, a fire pit and firewood if needed.
We can’t really camp in traditional campsites because we have a dog who is reactive to other animals, so having a bunch of neighbors doesn’t work. We were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived and saw that the campsites are so spread out you would never know there’s anyone else camping there.
It was a great way to start the new year, not a single firework, just us and a bunch of stars in the sky.
We will definitely be going back.

Best spot in Los Padres!
I can’t say enough great things about our stay! It was super easy to find, the directions and signage was really helpful and even had wine for us! The view from our camp was incredible and even though we were on their land it felt like we were in our world. Frfr on the hospitality to the location we recommend 10/10

Awesome campsite and host
What a terrific stay. The campsite was well appointed with picnic table, firepit, food prep station, a very clean outhouse—and even fresh eggs and wine waiting for us upon arrival.
The campsites all have flat ground and were spaced very generously apart (at least 50 yards)—we felt completely secluded in nature, even though there’s was another group at one of the other sites. Sites 1 and 2 offer extra privacy with high brush, whereas 3 and 4 are more exposed but provide better views of the valley as a result.
Chris was a terrific host and we couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant and safe environment to stay.

Almost don't want to write this review so we can keep Chris and her awesome property to ourselves! Went for Halloween weekend with my partner and had a blast!! Chris is so nice and welcoming, and the campsites are phenomenal. Best stars I've seen in awhile. Easy to find, majestic views and plenty of places to explore around the area, could not recommend this site more! Can't wait to come back.

This site was so beautiful! Not only was it exactly what we needed but Chris made it really more enjoyable. Very clean and spaced out sites, thoughtful presentation of the eggs and wine and juice for our kids. What a wonderful weekend. We will definitely be back.

Chris's property is incredible. Such a great set up, really spacious and ample privacy from your camping neighbors. The views of the mountains at sunrise straight our of your tent are breathtaking. Great touches include a bottle of wine and farm fresh eggs on arrival, but also allowing our dog to run free was great and he had so much fun exploring the property.

Chris' beautiful ranch was the perfect weekend getaway. She was an amazing host, greeted us so nicely with a basket of farm fresh eggs and a bottle of wine. The location was the perfect combination of privacy, without the fear of camping alone in the forest. Direct access to beautiful mountain hikes, and unique rocks for your collection. I would highly recommend this camp site for a romantic getaway, or some fun times with family and friends!

This site was incredible! I would absolutely return here! The host (Chris) met us right when we arrived and showed us to our private site. She was so kind, leaving us with a basket of fresh eggs and a bottle of wine. The area was totally private, you are surrounded by stunning canyons, and the stars at night are unreal! I definitely recommend staying at this site!

Hidden gem!
What a gem this place is! Everything was perfect. We were very much looking forward to our first camping trip with our 4 year old son and this was spot on! Upon arrival we had a meet and greet with the owner Chris. She welcomed us with a basket of fresh farm eggs and a bottle of red wine:)) she explained in detail everything about the property and where to go if we wanted to go off roading with our Jeep or for a little hike. It was very warm this weekend so we opted for a small off road trip in the river bed. She led us to our beautiful secluded campground and it not disappoint ! The views were stunning and star gazing was a plus here. We had some good food around the campfire and watched the sunset over the canyon. We are definitely looking forward to our next trip back there late September. On your way out of town there is a nice coffee shop in cuyama called the buck stop and it’s definitely worth it:)

Chris is one of the most welcoming Hipcamp hosts I’ve ever met- ushering my arrival with a custom beverage and fresh eggs from the chickens. She’s so cool! This is an exposed site, so not really for the faint of heart in the summer months but the views are awesome and the quiet is pretty profound. Cuyama has a cute little hip scene happening so you grab your coffee essentials on the way out of town.

This place is fricken amaaazing! I wish we could keep it a secret but these awesome peeps, and Chris, deserve all the good things that can come to them allowing people to stay of this massive piece of land. Every spot is private, ours was #2, and it was beautiful and so comfy. We were greeted with such warmth and then she just explained the lay of the land and left us to enjoy everything around! Which included a lot of doing nothing and sitting and checking out the wild views. We had the wine that they gave us which was so sweet, and the their fresh eggs from their own chickens in the morning reminded us of the real eggs we had back in Thailand from those farms (before Covid). It was just fricken awesome all around and highly recommend. We’ll be back fo sho!
