We had a great time camping. The tent area was peaceful, with a nearby parking spot and access to clean shower, water, an kitchen and a fridge. Feeding the donkeys was a fun and unique bonus! Everything was well-maintained—we’d definitely come back.

I found Dane & Rebekah’s spot looking for an alternative to an expensive hotel stay while visiting San Diego, and that was certainly what I got—but the real highlight here is the good folks, whose company you’ll truly enjoy if you’re also good people. From the moment we met Dane he was hospitable and considerate, and it only got better from there. Truly a connection to remember. My kiddo even asked if we’d get to see Dane again—I hope so! (Rebekah was out of town, but very responsive and friendly).
The spot for the tent was ample, shaded and reasonably level. There was a decent amount of traffic noise all night from nearby roadways, but I’m a light sleeper and I didn’t find it completely prohibitive to getting a good night’s rest. It’s a gated property, so it feels very safe. There was a trampoline for the kiddo, and a pool as well, though it was a little cold for swimming. The camper available to use has a very narrow bathroom that I had to open the door of in order to wipe 😂 but still nicer than a typical camping toilet, and more private. It was also nice to have hot water for showers and washing dishes and such.
We also discovered a couple of nice spots in the area—Burning Beard Brewery, great beer and music and a friendly anarchism vibe—and La Posta de Acapulco, very yum breakfast.
Very pleased with our longish stay camping on this private property in El Cajon! Thanks Dane (and Jay!) for a memorable time!

Camping here was amazing, we got to feed the animals and the pups got to meet them! Overall a quiet spot with beautiful sunsets!

Positioned conveniently and nearly equidistant to San Diego and the Cleveland National Forest. Situated in a quiet neighborhood on a cute little hilltop. Tips: bring carrots and apples for the farm animals. Rebekah and Dane are really helping people out with a safe place to stay - it's handy to have your own toilet paper and hand soap since they provide so much for guests with a place to relax with a roof overhead, cook, and restroom/shower facilities. Ideal spot for respectful people who love camping and backpacking!

Rebekah is one of the kindest humans I have ever met! She welcomed us with open arms and showed us around her super cool set up. We had blast feeding the donkeys/horses and sitting by the fire. It was so nice to have a safe and clean place to sleep. We will definitely be staying at this site again!

It was really nice staying here. We felt welcomed and our dogs loved running around. We had access to the small camper bathroom which was very nice of her to offer. We also had access to a common area outside that had a fridge and sink. Overall it was a very lovely stay.

Great hosts, friendly, welcoming with excellent communication. The site is a parking space in a safe, quiet neighborhood WITH LIVESTOCK. The donkeys were friendly and a nice diversion after waking up to Nov. 6.

I love camping here. You get great views of the desert. The sunset and sun rise are spectacular. The people that run it are very interesting people to talk to, give great tips of local activities, and are just very nice genuine people.

Enjoyed having a nice place to park after a really long day of driving. Hosts were very welcoming. Loved meeting the animals!! The donkey loved my puppy and my puppy loved meeting the donkey. You can hear freeway as stated but it didn’t bother me. I’m looking forward to another visit in the future!

Such an awesome camper! Feel like you're right at home with a very comfy bed, an amazing AC, a clean toilet, shower, sink, refrigerator and stove. There is nothing missing in this perfectly cozy camper. Enjoy beautiful views of the sunrises and sunsets from the many windows and sip on a complimentary cup of coffee in the morning. The dining table can easily be turned into a second bed for your convenience. There is also a very refreshing swimming pool, a super chill hangout area, and the opportunity to feed the donkeys watermelon! Such a great experience here, come experience it for yourself.

We love Cashews Garden! Me, my wife and my beagle were happy to find such a perfect spot nestled not too far off the 8 freeway. This "slice of heaven" appears out of the suburbs once you get to the top of the hill and it is a place to behold. A pristine swimming pool, an super awesome hangout spot, donkeys, and Cashew the horse are just a few of the great amenities provided here. Dane and Rebekah are extremely friendly and very down to earth, inviting us for food and bringing us plenty of water during our stay.

Rebekah was so welcoming and went beyond to make sure I was comfortable during my stay. I flew in late and she was very communicative and flexible, the property was easy to find even at night. The sunrise in the morning was such a beautiful surprise over the mountains and can be seen right from the RV window waking up & lastly the hang out area and farm was so quaint with Cashew the horse and Sally and Freddie the donkies :) . It felt very safe and homey!

We car camped at Cashews Garden. Very pleasant stay. Great hosts. Easy communication. The property is conveniently located to allow access to San Diego beaches. A country feel but in the city close to restaurants and grocery stores. Being able to feed the friendly donkeys was an extra special treat for my daughter .
