Very pretty campsite, Mike was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Our group had some additional requests that he accommodated very easily, if you need a good spot to camp out for a few days this is the place.

We found Mike's camp by chance and couldn't have been happier. The description does not do the site justice. This is a hidden gem. Mike is an outstanding host. The perfect mix of helpful and gives you privacy. BEAUTIFUL site next to a cool creek with the sound of frogs to fall asleep to. Our only regret is that we were just passing though and we did not have more time to spend there. Thank you, we will be back for sure!!

Overall the campground was not maintained when we arrived, the camp host and his son must have came to our campsite 5 different times to check on us! The swing broke and asked us to use a bread knife in the middle of eating dinner! His son was playing amongst our campground ended up getting hurt lots of screaming, and crying for about 10 mins during dinner time! At one point walked around the back of our campsite without me knowing and where my dog was sleeping and scared her so she braked at him naturally yes it was little aggressively but did not try to bite , and he kicked her in the face!

Really great spot. Exactly what I was looking for, a spot to camp right next to a creek my kids could play in, with space for my dog to run around. One of these sites is the best for young kids to get in the water and splash around, so get there early if you want your pick. The only downside is this is fairly near a somewhat busy road.
Mike's a wonderful, easy going host and has a cool property and I would definitely stay again

Had a great time camping with a group over Memorial Day weekend. We had 6 adults, 1 child plus 3 dogs and Mike had us setup in the back meadow which was perfect as it was a large space and more secluded. The camp spots closer to the entrance have less privacy and you can really hear cars on the road so just be aware. There was a spot to have a fire but plan to bring your own tables, chairs, etc. Mike also had a port-a-potty on site, make sure to BYO TP though! Overall great spot to camp close to Yuba river access.

Pretty spot by a gorgeous creek, right off the road, some road noise, but convenience and features made it a great spot for kids. Creek was deep enough to be swimmable in spots, not too many bugs, tons of sweet frog sounds at night. Playground and swing on site, big communal campfire ring that Mike stocked with wood for a bonfire at night. Not sure if that was a regular event, or because occupancy was high over Memorial Day. No picnic tables at sites, can build your own fire ring at your site, but no preset fire pits (at least not at ours). Get there early to pick the best spot, more privacy farther back on the property. Spots are first come first served, but are all right by the creek. Mike was great and had some neat native artifacts that have been found on the property he was happy to tell us about.

It was an ok experience due to the spot we got and the amount of weeds and thorns in our surrounding area. It was difficult to find a flat area to set-up camp but we made due with what we had. Not every site has potable water as described. We did have lots of fun catching trout. Overall experience was a 6.5/10.

We had a great time Camping along the creek! Area is nice and shaded and the creek is perfect for relaxing in. We enjoyed the sounds of the birds and frogs at night. Mike kept the fire pit stocked and we enjoyed sitting around it each night. There was potable water and a bathroom just like mentioned in the details. We will return in the future!

What a great first experience with Hipcamp! We were lucky to be the only ones camping in the area this weekend. Great access to a lovely river and there was even a kayak available for us to use. The provided toilet is portable so just make sure you bring some bags and it’s very convenient. We brought our two dogs and they enjoyed the river during the day and the grass to lay in during the evening. Mike is a wonderful host and we will definitely be back soon.

Sleeping next to the creek with the sound of running water was incredibly soothing. The provided kayak was a great bonus for exploring the creek. Campers seeking a raw nature experience will love this spot. Mike was an excellent host.

Overall experience and communication with the host was excellent. However: couple things:
No potable water access, even though is listed on the site. Bring your own water. In addition, the bathroom is mainly a backpacking toilet in the open. No privacy at all. Bring wipes, or extra water to rinse after doing bathroom business. If you bring your dogs, I highly recommend to ask the owner to close the gate at the entrance at night time. We brought two of our doggies and one of them passed away when being hit by a car early morning on a Saturday. Our dog explored too far, while we were sleeping. No one’s fault, I want to prevent and protect a future doggy at this site when you go camping. My nieces enjoyed the creek, great space for kiddos. Make sure to ask host to clean the site before you arrived. We found trash all over. The place was easy to find. The property has two dogs on site, they are at the house fenced in, but if you have doggies, they might be interested in going to check them out and they are close to the gate which can be dangerous, if you dog gets out on the road.

Mike was super nice! Very responsive and friendly when we arrived. Also, the water was great, even for kiddos because it had shallow spots as well as swimming areas. This campsite has great cell service and is easy to get to from the road (minimal amount of off-roading required).
There were a few things in the listing that were not true so be aware when you come. For example, the listing said bins, potable water and toilets. I put my trash in a bin on site on our way out, assuming this was the bin being referred to and turns out the expectation is pack in/out so definitely plan accordingly. Also I asked Mike beforehand if there was potable water and he let me know there wasn’t so just make sure you don’t follow the listing exactly (and just ask Mike). Also, this location won’t feel very private since it’s near the road and the house. Wasn’t a problem for us but be aware it’s not very isolated. Mike indicated we could camp anywhere so you may be able to find a more private spot than we did. Finally, there was some stuff around the campsite so it wasn’t the most pristine experience. These are all minor things though, overall we had a great time!

Mike was a great host and his property was wonderful. We were right next to the creek and it was nice being able to dip our feet in the cool water during this heat wave. Would recommend this spot to future campers for sure.

Beautiful plot to camp in with a nice creek to enjoy. The surrounding trees are gorgeous, and I saw lots of cool birds. There is the slight sound of cars passing by on the highway nearby, which bothered me a small amount as I was hoping to feel entirely isolated from urban environments, but I soon stopped noticing it.

We loved camping on Mike's land! It was perfect for my little ones. Mike is awesome host. He made camping for us fun! He was very nice and had a paddle boat for us to use. If you have little ones for first time camping experience, Mike's land is a must!!!

We loved tent camping on Mike’s land for 2 nights and 3 days. It was an amazing experience for my family and I especially for my 3 kids. They enjoyed swimming at the creek and played with Mike’s Forest. Mike was an excellent host! We are definitely coming back again with our family and friends next time.

Mike's place was a last minute find on the way home in our 30'. The place was easy to find and even though we couldn't get in on the first try because it was closed, it was super easy to communicate with Mike and we got things resolved in minutes. We really appreciated that Mike was very responsive through the chat. Mike welcomed us in and showed us available spots. Highly recommend the spot by the creek. Perfect spot and I wish we'd stayed for more than a night. The generator in our RV was a bit smelly and was a bit ruining our ambiance, so the only thing that could've made this stay better would be an outlet to hook up to. We actually want to go back at some point. Highly recommend this place for a cozy stay next to a creek.

My stay at Mike's property was wonderful. It was calm, and sleeping with the sound of the river was fantastic. For tent campers friends, there is no toilet at the moment, bring your own (leave no trace!). Mike will install some soon, but check with him. The site was intimate and the place full of history, Mike will tell you all about it. Mike can also open the property for groups and events. Dancing around a fire and grinding rock hundreds of years old sounds delightful! I went on my own and felt safe. There are wonderful hikes around and the place is close to stores. Mike is really responsive and if you are a nice guest, he might bring you some coffee in the morning!! ;) I highly recommend this place.

The site was absolutely beautiful and very private. (Even if fully booked I feel like the sites would still be private) Me and my partner brought our dog and had an amazing time. I believe we stayed in spot 5. We overlooked the river and got to enjoy seeing ducks and birds. I even panned for gold. There were also picnic tables, swings and a little playground. The property owners are very nice. I totally recommend this place to anyone looking for a little getaway.
