Cool spot! Very remote which was nice, camp sites are about 0.1 miles away from each other so it feels secluded, quiet, but still safe. Not many trails in walking distance, would have to drive out for activities. Lots of firewood near the sites!

Private & Peaceful Getaway

Beautiful scenic drive out to the campsite, including a few miles of unpaved road for some fun off-roading. The site itself is deep in the woods, incredibly quiet, and very private. I had a wonderful time here, it's the perfect peaceful getaway from the city.

Site host was responsive and great! And we were grateful they had availability with short notice before a holiday weekend. And location of the property is super private and beautiful up in the hills. Only complaint is that we were shocked at how buggy it was. Even with ample bug spray, we (and our dogs and toddler) were absolutely swarmed by mosquitos every time we stepped outside the tent. Have never seen anything like it anywhere else we've camped in California. Wouldn't stop us from camping there again but it's good to be aware of it so you can plan accordingly!

Perfect weekend getaway!

We had such a wonderful stay and couldn't have asked for a more peaceful getawayy! It was exactly what we were looking for, especially over the Fourth of July weekend. We were able to relax and enjoy the quiet without all the fireworks. There were hardly any cars driving by, and our neighboring campers were so respectful and quiet, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We stayed at Cam’s Place campsite, and two tents and three vehicles could easily fit. Our senior yorkie, Luna, came along for her very first camping trip, and it was so special to see how much she loved it! She was so excited the entire time, and we even noticed that her energy and appetite were better than usual. Watching her enjoy the outdoors made the trip even more memorable. We also have to mention the outdoor bathroom, it was surprisingly one of our favorite parts! 😂 It was incredibly clean, well-maintained, and didn't smell at all. We honestly preferred using it over many public restrooms. Ms. Jessica was also an amazing host! She was so kind, communicative, and thoughtful, keeping us updated about the campfire and other helpfull information throughout ourstay. We really appreciated how attentive she was. The only thing to be prepared for is the mosquitoes. Like most places in California during mosquito season, they were pretty ruthless in the mornings and around sunset, and we definitely came home with plenty of bites. Just be sure to bring bug spray or have a plan! Overall, 10/10!

My family and I had a great experience camping at Cam’s Place! The site was clean and had some good shade, loved the propane fire place, and there was plenty of room to set up our 6 person tent. The property was very quiet and easy to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The dirt road stretch of the drive is slow but not too bad, and the views of the ocean and inland are incredible. Worth it!

Private and secluded campsite

We had a great time at the Skid Camp, which is about 1500 ft down a forest road with 3 or so spots that will require 4WD SUV and decently high ground clearance. The campsite is quite private and we could not hear or see any of the other campers.

Pretty Perch!

Jessica offers a few beautiful flat spots to camp on her land up in the Santa Cruz mountains. She was communicative and kind and helped me find the best place for my van and was super helpful in clarifying a directions question. My pup and I spent a great night there and wound up parking at Cam’s Place, which has a nice picnic table and some shade and was flat. Jay’s perch has a great little tent platform for anyone who needs that. The dirt road up is bumpy, as others have noted, but I was able to manage it in a RWD 2008 Sprinter (and old shocks) by going slow. My Hyundai Tuscon would have been a breeze. My dog and I enjoyed a lovely walk up the mountain at dusk and dawn before getting back on the road. Thank you Jessica for a very positive first HipCamp experience!

Such a cute camp site with gorgeous views driving to and from the spot. The host was extremely helpful and gave perfect directions. We didn’t see a single other person while we were there. There was enough space for our 2 cars and tent. Would definitely stay here again!

Not easy road

The terrain is quite beautiful, but the roads are really not easy, especially the return journey. If you don't have an off-road vehicle or 4x4, I think you might have difficulty. After passing through the locked gate, you have to drive on an off-road path for about 15-20 minutes to reach the campsite. There were 4-5 different points along the way that worried us, but the rest of the journey was normal, flat off-road. The campsite was quiet and clean. There was a table and a fire pit for a campfire. We didn't encounter any wild animals or their tracks.

Place was nice. Fully isolated. We enjoyed it. The only things we didn’t like were the super bumpy road and the bad morning weather. We suspect the weather is bad there in the morning cause it was super nice all around though. If you don’t mind driving 15 min uphill in a bumpy road and re looking for isolation, this is your place.

Nice, private site! There’s no shade - so plan accordingly. The pit toilet is just down the road. The picnic table and tent platform were super nice. The road to the property is a dirt road and quite bumpy (4x4/high clearance vehicle recommended)

Bit of a rough dirt road to get there, and the entrance is steep to the Jay’s Perch campsite. But the site was perfect! Lots of room and the platform for the tent was nice. The pit toilet is just down the road. There isn’t any shade at this site - the sun can be quite intense! Another review mentioned someone speeding in a sedan - we saw him in the morning and he was driving quite fast and also yelling profanities. So just be careful and mindful when walking on the road

Awesome little spot! I camp often with my pups and this was perfect since my dog is afraid of little kids and we can't do the big campgrounds anymore. Super easy to find, signs were helpful. The road really isn't that bad, my 2WD suv got through it just fine. Just use common sense ;) perfect little trees for a hammock and elevated tent site. The mosquitos were BAD even with my one pound of combined bug spray on my body haha so be prepared. Quiet, I didn't really hear any road noise. Would come back again!

Jessica has a nice spot up on the mountain. Once we arrived it was peace and quiet and the views did not disappoint. It was tricky for us to get there - Our GPS brought us on a route that first led to a private gate we could not get through, then when we back-tracked we were led to a gate that was posted as being for local residents only. This ended up getting us there, but it was definitely a very indirect way since the way out following our stay was super straight forward to the blacktop. I'd recommend more detailed instructions from the host for best route to take to property. While we'd booked Skid Camp, we couldn't find it. There was a sign for "trail" on the only road we could see that was toward where the map suggested Skid Camp was. We drove down the trail well beyond the frame of the screenshot on the site page but didn't find any spot with a picnic table or fire ring as shown in the pictures. Fortunately, back toward the top of property near the entrance gate, our phones worked and I was able to coordinate staying at Jay's Perch instead, which was clearly labelled and close to the front gate. While we crossed paths with a few people who appeared to live on the property, there weren't any other campers and it was a cozy quiet beautiful place to camp. All in all, it was a very nice stay. Jessica was responsive and flexible (thanks, Jessica!) and the land is beautiful.

There is a lot of traffic and road noise from the camp spot. There was a blue accord that would drive by fast that was concerning since my nephew was with me. The decorative stop sign really took away the feeling of camping. The brush was really thick and did not provide a lot of open space.

Booked this secluded stay last minute at the top of Mt. Madonna off Morgan Hill. Super private surrounded by trees. Definitely a rugged, but fun drive up last couple of miles so be prepared. Campsite came with 2x fire pits, wood and provided propane. Ended up having the whole area to ourselves too!

Beautiful, quiet, and everything we wanted. Just a quick getaway for Valentine's Day and it was fantastic. Fire pit was so nice! The road in is not for amateurs, and rain made it exciting, but once we got to the gate, it was everything and more. Very cozy. Thank you.

We had a great time at the Skid Camp site. Very private within the trees with beautiful view of the stars. The road is a bit tricky getting in, but perfectly manageable with a higher car. We saw a couple wild pigs on our way in and out as well!

Fun weekend getaway !

We had an awesome time at camp rewilding ! We had booked skid camp but unfortunately high clearance 4x4 was needed. My suv was too low for my comfort to keep going ! Haha but we messaged Jessica and she accommodated us with out any questions. Cams place was a nice spot with plenty of space for our family, our pup was able to run around and had the time of his life. We would definitely recommend. Jessica is a great host, we can’t wait to go back !
